Edgar's good reign probably brought the Anglo-Saxon English Kingdom to its height. One wonders what the Saxon Kingdom what have accomplished had it not been stolen by the Normans.

Won his throne in a civil war against his brother Edwy. Effective ruler. Appointed Dunstan as Archbishop of Canterbury. His coronation ceremony started a tradition followed to present day.
