During all of 2008, PETA found adoptive homes for just seven pets. Just seven animals -- out of the 2,216 it took in. The pound has a better success rate and they kill after 24 hours in some cities.PETA is the worst kind of hypocrite, and frankly, the animal rights movement doesn't need them.

As long as they mind their own beezwax and leave me and my cheeseburgers alone, they're fine.

PETA like many organizations started out with the best motives, to help animals, but like so often happens it was hijacked by a radical faction within its own members and has become an obnoxious mouthpiece for a mandatory vegan worldview.
Kid_Icarus 12/08/2008
In a world where Michael Vick and his friends practice dog-fighting, PETA is a necessary institution.

Damn straight!!!!! If I want to eat I steak, I'll eat it, if I want to bet on horseraces, I'll bet on them, if I want to buy a genuine dog fur coat from Burlington Coat Factory-I'll buy it-I don't need these freaking wussy animal rights lunatics telling me I can't do this. If you really want to protect animal rights, encourage the government or somebody to offer low cost spaying and neutering, damn vets are expensive, there are too many damn strays around and overfilled animal shelters.
Molfan 12/02/2008
I love animals and could not stand to see one mistreated. PETA goes overboard. even I do not agree with their ways of handling animal rights. they are too out there for me.
frogio 12/02/2008
We should all wrap them in mink coats, roll them in whale blubber, cook them in pork fat and serve them with a fine drizzle of seal blood....mmmmm....seal blood

I have always had a strong belief in the humane treatment of animals and felt that there was a huge amount of truth in the well-known Gandhi quote, "The greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals are treated." However, if someone sincerely professes to have love and compassion for living things and yet somehow manages to forget that the human race is part of that mix - then it should be fairly obvious to anyone that this person has some major issues to contend with. PETA has more than proven by its actions that it is a very dangerously misguided organization. Id even go as far as to say they are a socially and psychologically retarded one. (Waste of space, air and all other resources.)

A repulsive, despicable organization with the ethics of a scorpion. Let me give just one of many examples: Vancouver, Canada, was the operating ground of a serial killer who preyed on prostitutes for over a decade. Finally, a couple of years ago, a suspect was arrested and charged and a long investigation into his pig farm took place which has so far uncovered the DNA traces of over 20 of the 50+ victims. (He has since been convicted) The story has received international coverage. PETA attempted to run a billboard campaign in the city which graphically linked the brutal murders of these women to the slaughter of swine. To their everlasting credit, Viacom, the largest billboard advertising company in North America, refused to run the ads.
Spokespeople for PETA describe such campaigns as whimisical. This is just one of dozens of similar incidents in PETAs history. A disgusting bunch of compost eaters. Everytime I hear one of these dehumanized twits start ranting about how a chicken's life is just as important as a child's, I recall that Hitler received world wide praise from animal rights types in the thirties and forties for passing anti-vivisection laws. I guess its ok to ship 6 million off to Dachau and Treblinka and Auschwitz, but God help you if you butcher a hog.
UPDATE: God I love it when I get immediate criticism on something like this. Lets me know I've hit a nerve. But come on you veggie-killers, come on out and play. State your case to defend this scurrilous organization. I double-dog dare ya.

PETA is like so many special interest groups who feel the need to “enlighten” people. They are arrogant and obnoxious in their belief that they are the moral authority for treatment of all animals. I love animals as much as anybody, PETA just takes everything beyond any sense of reason. I do believe at one time they had the best of intentions; they just took a wrong turn somewhere and got completely lost.

I like peta bread or is it pita bread. :) Ok seriously I do not like animals being treated cruel but I am not against eating meat. PETA takes their battle too far.
LadyJesusFan77 7 05/31/2008
I realize there are some extreme radicals in this group, especially seeing some of their demonstrations that they put on. But just like everyone else, they do have a right to their opinion.

For all the PETA people out there: if we shouldn't be eating meat, then why did God make animals out of meat? Thumbs up to BlueOrchid: People Eating Tasty Animals.
In the NT of the Bible, God gave Peter permission to eat the once forbidden foods of the OT. So eating meat is totally acceptable in the Bible.
Djahuti 06/08/2006
Some of them may be extreme, but someone needs to stick up for animal rights.Maybe it's people who think it's "OK" to torture animals who hate PETA so much...They serve a purpose.(Unfortunately, they have their fanatics, just like certain "Christians" who blow up abortion clinics).

Such hypocrites PETA is. They probably wear leather jackets, and eat Kentucky Fried Chicken.

MENACE TO SOCIETY, THEY SHOULD BE PUT IN JAIL

Not guilty by reason of insanity.
souljunkie 06/14/2005
Definitely a waste of space!!! These folks like a lot of others ie., NAACP, Greenpeace and others sit around waiting for something to stir up the common peace. I think these organizations are simply a place where social misfits go to be able to belong somewhere important.
LadyShark4534 04/08/2005
As a self proclaimed animal lover and animal welfare activist, I can say that PETA goes too far and has gone overboard.
Mr.Political 09/27/2004
Look, PETA would be great if it behaved responsibily and in a tasteful manner. You don't need to be vulgar to get your point across but PETA doesn't recognize this and as a result, you get veggietarians who love to trash talk meat eaters. My payback? Buy the biggest steak on the menu and wear some type of fur. (Hey, it's vulgar but see if PETA can take it as well as they can dish it) **Alright, louie, I agree that giving 5 years for a dog beater and only one to a drug dealer who sells drugs to kids is wrong, but the drug dealer should get more than five years rather than the dog beater getting less time.**
louiethe20th 09/23/2004
I am going to have to strongly agree with Irishgit! These people put way too much emphasis on animals and their furs. I have no use for these people! Animals DO NOT HAVE SOULS FOLKS! I don't believe in animal cruelty, but when someone gets 5 years for beating a dog and someone dealing drugs to schoolkids gets a year there is a problem!!!
numbah16tdhaha 09/20/2004
I will not eat salad, stop wearing leather jackets, or feel the slightest bit bad while feasting on various forms of dead animal flesh. PETA can bite me. UPDATE: The veggie warriors are crying.
CanadaSucks 09/12/2004
NO! NO! NO! PETA chicks are just too funny! I simply can't control my laughter, so they can't be an entire waste of space.
wiley1827 07/17/2004
The oddest bunch of goons since the Moonies got loose. I generally don't work at killing critters but a good burger is always welcome. These people probably have not done living things any favors with their insanity and meanness. Jacques Cousteau was a better teacher. These people are simply wacko. Soon they will worry about the soul of the maple leaf and a cancer cell.
