Rumor has it that tonight in his State of the Union speech, Obama will propose a 1.3 trillion dollar mosquito contraception program. This should do wonders for the nation's unemployment woes, and the tweezer industry as well.

The deadliest animal of all and one of the smallest. The tiny, lowly, irritating, Fucking mosquito brings us down off our perch on the top of the Food chain. Natures way of keeping itself in check. It's a beautiful thing isn't it? By the way, If you answered 'Yes' to that question, screw you! Mosquito's kill us in a variety of gruesome and totally not cool ways. ->Malaria, obviously a big one, effects 300,000,000 people a year, killing an estimated 1,000,000. ->Dengue fever is the next big one. Before 1974 nine countries had cases of Dengue fever. Now, Over a hundred. There is no cure, but sometimes it can be Treated. ->Yellow Fever. Again no cure, but if a persons immune system is strong enough then they can fight it. ->Elephantiasis is an ugly virus that wreaks havoc on the immune system. Some people have it for a day or two and are fine. Some people die from it. If you see a mosquito, do us all a favor and kill the damn thing.

This insect has killed millions and is next to the flea for spreading disease and death.   They are protected in Minnesota since they are the state bird.

The mosquito isn't deadly it is the diseases it carries that are the really the killers, anyone who thinks a mosquito is deadly is retarded

I think that they should breed mosquitos to be the size of birds so they'd be easier to shoot.

Did you know that one of our other most hated animals is a big fan of these monsters? A single bat can devour as many as 1200 of these pests in one hour. Ya'll ought to consider putting up bat houses. I, personally don't have too much trouble with them because I eat alot of garlic. It seeps through the skin and turns them off in a BIG way.

The Animal Planet rated this insect as one of the most dangerous because it can carry deadly diseases like malaria, yellow fever, or cholera.

Greedy little SOBs - even when they're full they still try to suck more blood from you - sort of like lawyers. Mosquitoes are a serious vector for disease in the tropics.

Only where they carry malaria.Otherwise, they're just a nuisance. Most of the chemicals you spray on to drive them away from you are worse for you than the bites. There are natural scents that repel them, though, such as Lavender,Citronella and Mint.

Do not forget that mosquitoes also carry a somewhat deadly disease, (other than West Nile) yellow fever if not treated right away. Though concentrated in the tropics, this vampirous animal can not only take blood, but can take your life away. I do fear this one a lot beacuse I'm highly allergic to their bites, so I ferquently empty out any containers outside after a rainstorm, and I never go to a humid, marshy place outside the country.

In some areas, they carry malaria. According to reliable estimates, malaria is responsible for at least 50 percent of all deaths in the history of humanity. That means that half the people who have ever died have died of malaria. This makes the mosquito the most deadly animal ever, by a long shot. Not even man has caused this much death to man, which is remarkable. And I say man not to be sexist, but because, despite there being some especially vicious homicidal women, most of the killing has been perpetrated by men.

Fortunately for me, I live in an area where they're more of a nuisance than a threat to my life. Malaria, West Nile Virus, many illnesses are spread by these little things.

Second only to man as a killer on this list, I think. When I lived in Florida they were HORRIBLE. Out here on the west coast they're not such a big deal.
