Ah, but you can kiss bipartisanship goodbye, because Zell Miller is retiring soon. I'll give George W. Bush credit though--- he promised to "bring Republicans and Democrats together" when elected President. He must be commended- he brought Republicans and one Democrat together to change America. That's an amazing accomplishment, folks. Such bipartisanship is rare.

True, the Bush administration takes a hold-no prisoners approach to politics. They are very tough and effective when it comes down to enacting their policies, even if it means stepping on a few toes. The Southern conservative Democrats are just token shows of bi-partisanship, but Bush might just have to pay for pay for this divisive approach. The Democrats are going to be much more willing to use whatever dirty piece of opposition research against Bush they can find; a questionable personal military record, potential drug use, and the manipulation of intelligence before the Iraq War are going to be the charges thrown at Bush during this election. It's going to be war. Zell Miller is retiring after this year, so I wonder who's going to be his next favorite Democrat? After 2004, there might just not be any deep South Democrats that are conservative enough to stand behind Bush's policies. Bush's re-election won't be a cakewalk by far and away. It won't be a 49 state sweep, still, I predict he will win re-election. Incumbency is a powerful advantage and Bush is maximizing his resources all he can, even if it means pushing the truth concerning his record on a variety of fronts. Money is also a big factor; Bush has about 150 million dollars, plenty of which he will use in the Spring to define his Democratic opponent who will be broke and unable to respond. But the time Bush is done with John Kerry or whoever comes out of the primaries, he will be seen as an card carrying ACLU liberal in the tradition of Mike Dukakis, Walter Mondale and George McGovern. So expect another four years of Bush.
