These turds go on about the way the male dominated music industry kept them down, yet they continue to prosper with their "unique" brand of "hard" rock. "We made it on talent", they'll tell you. Ugh, it sickens me. They're just crappy enough to be in the hall of fame.

Of course they deserve to be in the R&R Hall of Fame, but as a band? Maybe when they first started out, Heart was actually a band with the Wilson sisters fronting it but ever since they started turning out the hits, Heart has been Ann and Nancy and their backup band. I mean, can anyone name any of the other musicians in Heart (past or present), offhand?

The twin souls of Heart are the songwriting singers/musicians Ann and Nancy Wilson Heart’s first album, Dreamboat Annie, was released in 1976 followed by Little Queen, Magazine, Dog & Butterfly, Bebe La Strange, Private Audition, Passionworks, Heart, Bad Animals, Brigade, Desire's Brigade, Jupiter's Darling & Red Velvet Car. Heart broke barriers with a repertoire that includes rock classics like “Barracuda,” “Crazy on You,” “Magic Man,” “Straight On,” "What About Love, " "If Looks Could Kill" alongside acoustic standards like “These Dreams,” “Dog & Butterfly,” and “Dreamboat Annie.” Ann Wilson’s performance of “Alone” is legendary. They were 2008 recipients of VH1 Rock Honors, received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Northwest Grammy Foundation, and received ASCAP’s award for Excellence in Songwriting in 2009

Heart should definitley be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They were the first women sisters in rock and they have been around for over 30 years. Heart is still making awesome music today. Red Velvet Car is amazing!!

Unfortunately, women are even still not a great presence in hard rock, which is, I believe, a major reason for the relative lack of recognition the Wilson sisters have received. How does Bob Seger or even Queen get in and Heart doesn't? They have all had a very similar number of hits! Let's not forget too that they are still recording albums. At least they are still coming up with new material, which is quite good, and not just touring on their old favorites! They should have been inducted a long time ago!!!

Ann and Nancy are amazing musicians and vocalists. I've seen their show a couple of times and it just blows me away at how well these ladies play and sing. They handle guit-fiddles like no other women performers I've seen. Personally, I would say their not bad for military brats if you ask me.

One of the greatest female Rock n' Roll acts of the 1970s-1980s. To this day Anne and Nancy are extremely talented as singers, musicians, and songwriters. I saw them July 29, 2008 at the Ford Amphitheater in Tampa Florida and they still rock over 30 years after their first hit.

They broke more ground by being females who could hold their own against their male counterparts in the arena of hard rock then being truly groundbreaking musically, but their late 70s hits are fantastic and still hold up. Their 80s and early 90s stuff is dated but showed they could keep up with the times. Plus all the seattle grunge guys love them!

Ann and Nancy Wilson have to be 2 of the hardest rocking women in the business. But if you were to tell them that, they'd probably say "Well, why SHOULDN'T a woman be hard rocking?" Good question. I think a better question would be: How come Heart is not yet in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame? They played hard rock with "Barracuda," "Heartless" and "Magic Man," funky blues with "Straight On," acoustic folk with "Dreamboat Annie/ Crazy On You" and "Dog And Butterfly." They could play Led Zeppelin's "Rock And Roll" in concert and add their own touches, while not straying too much from the original. Give the Wilson sisters their due and a place in the Hall!

Too much of a bias against white women from the surprisingly Male-focused Jann Wenner who controls the admissions. Cheesy in the 80s? So were the Moody Blues and they deserve it too. It's the strengths of a great guitarist (who also happens to be a chick) and a great vocalist. I hate Jann Wenner.

Ann Wilson is one of the greatest female singers of all time. Nancy is a very accomplished guitar player in her own right. They also are great song writes, something some bands don't do. They been a big influence to many woman in rock over the years.

Nothing more than a trumped-up bar band with the gimmick of featuring a sister act up front.  Nancy Wilson is a fine guitar player, but she diesn't rate with Liz Phair, Lita Ford or PJ Harvey.  Ann could sing fairly well, but she's far, far from the greatest female rock and roll singer.  They had three noteworthy songs in their canon, which isn't an astounding number, as many bands have more than that on a single album.  Listen to their 70s music and you'll find it sounds very dated.  Their later work is decidedly ho-hum.  Heart, like Fleetwood Mac, was instantly passe and obsolete when punk rock came along, so the band had a useful shelf life of about three years.

In their prime they  looked better in tight pants and high heeled boots than the Eagles or the Doobie Brothers, but they were really just dependable hit makers who borrowed a riff from here and a lick from there and sold lots of records and concert tickets.  I suppose there should be some recognition for being the only women to dare to rock between  the era's of Janis Joplin and Chrissie Hynde.  Their stock probably went up a bit by getting a song on Guitar Hero.

I saw them in concert back in the 1980's.  I was already a huge fan even before I saw them perform live.  Ann has the best female rock voice ever.  She's been called the female version of Robert Plant.

Like Led Zeppelin after sex change operations in the 70's, then had a sales slump before making a comeback in the mid 80's with generic, hard rock- connect the dots, MTV type hits...Nothing to get excited about, umm.... musically speaking.

The fact that women are generally underepresented in the HOF should be taken into account.  But I never felt like anything groundbreaking was happening here.  Ann Wilson could definitely sing, but I think Benatar, if we're looking at the period in question, was her equal.  Prior to that era, we have Janis Joplin who was clearly a superior belter of the blues.  Also, before Heart, there was another band fronted by two women, Joy of Cooking.  They never achieved the popularity of Heart (although they received well-deserved critical acclaim), but Terry Garthwaite and Toni Brown were both fine singers, and Garthwaite was an excellent blues singer.  Should they have had popular success?  Find a copy of their album "Castles" and listen to "Let Love Carry You Along", then answer the previous question.  If this sounds more like a vote for Joy of Cooking, so be it.  If you vote big for Heart, do the same for J of K.

Best female vocalist ever! Best female guitarist ever! Forced to make "Only" choice and change career directions by record label, they proceeded into mega-stardom only to feel void of their roots. Made very memorable pop hits in 80s. Returned to their roots, have never stopped touring or recording since (in 31 years). Their longevity and talent should speak for themselves. Why is there even a doubt in anyone's mind? Put them in immediately.

Heart is the best band in the business!  So many great songs (Barracuda, Magic Man, Mistral Wind, Lost Angel, Alone, etc..) and they really can play any style of music.  Ann Wilson is the BEST rock singer and Nancy is an awesome guitarist.  I'm glad to say they are still going strong!!  Check them out live!

They had a lot of kick ass songs like, Barracud, Crazy on you, Magic man, Strong, strong wind, Straight on, ect.Their mix of blues, folks and hard rock made them one of the most easily recognizable bands in rock history. Great band, should be in no later than 2009.
