Yes! If someone wrongs you you must respond. They have wronged you somehow in some way that you feel wronged. It may be a small wrong-doing, it may be a BIG wrong-doing. If it is small, let it go but keep note of it. If it is a big wrong-doing then you MUST do your best to kick their ass! You must get even. In some instances this is as gentle as a quiet 'Sorry', yet in other instances you must gain revenge. You decide how.

This is the first rule of real politics, (its kind of the Armageddon threat that makes electoral politics work) and whether the politically correct like it or not, a pretty good rule of life. Kindly note that "getting even," for folks with a long range agenda, is not some simplistic or childish act of vengeance.

Sometimes it can be a good thing to burn a bridge or two.

Getting mad is a very natural response, especially when somebody has done you wrong, but I don't really think that a person has to get even with somebody because, like the old saying goes, what goes around comes around. Nature will take its course.

I'm rating this one right in the middle because, depending on the approach you take, it could be quite satisfying, or like pissing into the wind. It's all in the approach, bowlers... If you ever feel the need, consult with Stark, because she just got even in the biggest of ways. I can't go into specifics, here, but over the course of nearly a year, she was harassed, abused, discriminated against and assaulted with intent to do bodily harm. This wasn't the first time that she had found herself in this position. The first time, she fought hard against the perps (who happened to be elected officials) and her mission led to Federal legislation. If you have special needs children and find that they have been receiving better accommodations at school, thank Stark. So, when she found herself under assault by an attorney and her staff...an orchestrated attack designed to distance her from the issue at hand...she fought back and the State got involved. Her approach was to document and "nice"... Read more

You may get even but it won't give you joy. A wise man avoids getting mad in the first place.

I never liked this one. . .even as a kid. I was more of the idea of, "Don't get mad- win."

I have heard that one a lot, but I'm not sure that I would classify it as a wise saying. Revenge begets revenge. I have another aphorism - Revenge is a dish best served not at all!

Maybe not always the best thing, but sometimes you just have to get even, consequences be damned.

I think it's human nature to want revenge. How can you have something bad done to you and not want to get back at the doer? Even the more enlightened of us if being completely honest must say that they have at least thought about it. Acting on that thought is another thing.

I'll give it a 3 coz it's easy to dance to. Related: Revenge is a dish best served cold.

Tempting but scary. Sure there are times I would love to get even with someone I felt has wronged me. thing is it could lead to a whole lot of trouble. Now they will try and get even with me and it could get dangerous. Not so sure I would give this advice to someone. got to admit if someone has done something nasty to me there is that part of me that may wish a bit of bad luck on them.

Not the right solution. Just doing the right thing is a victory enough.
