The Matterhorn

By the standards of modern technical climbing, this is not a particularly difficult peak, although it's by no means easy, and it has been successfully assaulted from all sides in all seasons since its first conquest. I can be climbed in a single day by a skilled party.

That being said, it's reputation as a climber-killer is not undeserved. Since the first ascent it has claimed the lives of over 500 climbers.
