Bank Of America Stadium 2

Anyone else find it very ironic that the Democrats are holding their national convention at BANK OF AMERICA stadium? I know BoA practically runs Charlotte, but it's an odd choice of venue for them.

But then again, the financial services crowd still has control of both political parties, contrary to any propaganda the Dem's will give you about re-regulating Wall Street, which Dodd-Frank hardly did.

Of course, the purpose of both political parties in this country is to play the working and middle classes up against each other. In terms of mass politics, the Republicans (represented by petit bourgeois small business owners and management) are pitted against the Democrats (represented by the laborer class). The creditor/corporatist class, which overlaps both parties, hedges their bets between both and plays them against each other. They stay out of intramural politics for the most part.

Bank Of America Stadium 5

In Short
The stadium, a relative newcomer to the city skyline, is home to the Carolina Panthers. This fact is made even more obvious as soon as you walk through the gates and see the big black panther sculptures (specially commissioned) and blue, grey and black colors inside and out. Posh corporate sky boxes--complete with cushy seats and bars--circle the stadium at prime viewing level.

Bank Of America Stadium 2

My man got us tickets to the Carolina Panther game in the early season. I was looking forward to the small town feel of a goo ole' football game. Were, hot was the word of the day. It was just too hot to enjoy what was going on in the field. We had the best seats up front, but who cares when there is no air blowing. Maybe, I was used to the Atlanta stadium (covered dome) I refuse to sit in the hot melting sun and just burn. What a great addition that would be. Nice concession stands! Parking could be better. Arrive early.
