Im just gonna make this brief. My brothers bestfriend was mistreated to where he was put in Grady Hospital for 12 hours. After that sent to jail for Disorderly Conduct which was wrong. If anyone has had bad experiences where you had been hurt or anything even if it was your friend please write what happened this needs to be put to a stop.

If you are thinking about going to Opera, do yourself a favor and stay home! I have been to Opera about 4 times. The first 2 times I went there I had a blast so I talked my boyfriend into coming with me. We paid to hang out in VIP (you can pretty much just walk in the aisles of the 2nd floor and go to the 3rd floor bar). Since there's nowhere to sit if you haven't paid for a VIP table, the only place to really rest is if you lean against the rails. We were on the 3rd floor looking onto the dance floor below. Apparently he had his drink in his hand while leaning over the balcony so his drink was just on the other side. I understand why he shouldn't do this, but the bouncer from the 2nd floor threw a wet napkin and hit him in the face to get his attention to move his drink back to the 3rd floor side of the rail. They all have earpieces and he could have radioed someone on the 3rd floor to tell him to move it. We thought it was best to not to start anything and just left. We decided to... Read more

I have gone to this club once every time they change the name. I've seen it as a regular club, a drum n bass party and last night which was college night. My roommate who took me there told me it was a great place. But the vibe was all messed up. First it was $20 to get in on a Wednesday. 18 and up...so I understand the price hike. But wednesday? come on. But what I didn't like the most of was the aggressive manner in which the security handled people. First I couldn't tell security from a normal guy. Dressing in black in a suit jacket....what the heck is that!!! So when the security stopped people from doing things, the people were genuinely SURPRISED. They thought it was a normal dude. Then they were aggressive in how they talked or acted. You could tell that the crowd was a bunch of college kids trying to have fun. But the security was cursing and being really hands on like angry cops. I saw one dude get ejected for dancing on the pole. They picked him up and... Read more

Opera is supposedly fast, but it's not as fast as Mozilla or Chrome. And besides, there are no reasons to use Opera... 1. It lacks in speed - why not go for Chrome? 2. It lacks in customizations - why not go for Firefox?

Bring the girls, and make sure they are hot. Or….. you are standing in line all night. And I mean ALL night. We were lucky because we met a promoter named Jack. He set us up with a great table, and the service was great!!! Eye candy for everyone! We will definitely go again, but also definitely hooking up with Jack. No wait is a good wait! For guestlist / bottle service send me an email with "guest list" in the subject line how many people in the party (girls and guys) and a facebook link my email is cjshollywood@gmail com This club is a great venue with a awesome crowd. The patio is great for meeting people. The door can be a little rough on the hotter nights but that's any decent Hollywood club for you groups of HOT girls get right in groups of guys have to get a bottle. I enjoy going on weekdays nights because of the type of people that this venue brings and the amazing girl to guy ratio. The sunken dance floor is fun as well as the two bars.

Every person there tells you different things about what you're paying for vs what your getting. Then they send you on a wild goose chase so you never get refunded for what they "assured" you you were getting. My group of friends got took for more than $200 and we weren't the only ones in the club complaining. If you want to sit down/lean ANYWHERE the actual cost in between $300-3000. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!!!

I had a very unfortunate incident at Opera about two weeks ago. I came in here to post my experience and I read some of the older comments. The same exact thing happened to another customer in May. This is absolutely ridiculous. I got a table at Opera with 3 friends. Promoter at the door promised me one price, but when I received the tab the price was 3 times higher. I asked to talk to the promoter, but they said that he had taken off one hour before. They said that they were going to call the cops, but we called the cops first. The 2 officers showed up and said that we had to pay to avoid going to jail for “defrauding an innkeeper”. I couldn’t believe it! Thankfully we had the money to pay, and we are going to contest this charge. But what if they had come with a tab for $5,000???? We would’ve had to pay to avoid prison????? I wonder how many people have already been tricked like this…

As soon as you walk in, you find yourself in a room with high glass ceilings, ivy, a fire pit and seating areas that remind me of an old study in England. Another room has a great big chandelier and more seating, which leads into the bar area (and what a big, beautiful bar it is). combine that w strong drinks and a HOT crowd and you have a great night

Went on July 16th...place was packed but the DJ couldn't get the party jumping. They advertised free drinks until 11pm, stopped serving drinks a quarter to 11pm. No rum other than Captain Morgan, no Patron, no Midori...none of my friends got the other drinks they asked for. It was hot and muggy. Even Monica tried to liven things up, but the DJ was simply GARBAGE! Nice place, glad it was free, won't be going back though.

Opera is the best nightclub i have ever been to! Great people, great staff, great music, and great drinks! There was a fight nearby when everyone was leaving and one of the security guards made sure that me and my friends were ok after we had been shoved down by the guys that were fighting. I thought that was a nice gesture.

Please read this because it happened just 1 week ago. This is an honest review coming from a person that used to be a fan of Opera. Last weekend I went to Opera with a group of 11 people to celebrate a friend’s birthday. We were greeted at the door by one of Opera’s promoters. He said that he could offer us a great deal: a table for our group, 2 bottles of vodka, and 2 bottles of champagne for $450. The 11 members of the group listened to his offer and we were all very excited and accepted it. We got to the table and everything went well, but the 2 bottles of champagne were never served. At the end of the night, we all went to a room located downstairs to pay for the table. AND THIS IS WHEN THINGS BECAME RIDICULOUS. We were shocked when we were given a tab of $850. We informed the Opera employees that there was a problem with the tab, and that we had been told that the price would be $450. Two bouncers came to the scene and tried to intimidate us into paying. They said that the promo... Read more

I really like Opera, it was my favorite club to go to until last Friday night.(5-1-09) When we were all leaving, a fight broke out. I understand that the bouncers and all of the security need to take care of the situation and get people downstairs, but when someone gets hurt in the fight like being pushed into the door. I think they should take the time to help that person. My friend could hardly walk and the bouncer told her to "Get the f*ck outside!" He didnt care, even after we explained to him that she could hardly walk he didnt care and kept telling us to get downstairs. We were all trying to tell him that we needed to stay with her because she was hurt and he told my friend that if she didnt get downstairs he was going to "kick her in her p*ssy." Which for such a "nice" and "sophisticated" club I thought was completley out of line to say and very disrespectful!(This bouncers name was John) Also, before all of this happened when we were at the bar, the bartenders were very rude a... Opera Nightclub, by far, is one of the best clubs I've ever been to in the Southeast, and definitely the nicest in Atlanta! I'm from San Francisco, but travel often, and I always make sure to drop by everytime I'm in town. Their staff is extremely friendly and accomodating, and I know my clients will always have an amazing time when I take them!

If your going out in Atlanta, Opera is definitely a must see. It is the premier night club in Atlanta. The best thing to do is get on Facebook and become a friend of the club, they offer guest lists to get you in free almost every weekend. The most beautiful girls are there, the best DJ's and you can get in free... what else could u ask for. I'm always impressed with the talent that this place books. One night they will have "Cirque Du Soleil" style performance with dancers hanging from strings in mid-air, the next they have live bands and a world famous DJ. I got to see Armin Van Buuren there a couple of weeks ago and it was crazy. I had never heard of him but one of my friends invited my so I went with her. It was on a Wednesday night and it looked like one of the clubs featured on "Wild on" (the show on E) that you would have to travel to Soutth America to get to. It was packed and the people were going nuts. Bottom line, you would be crazy not to go check this place out.

Maybe I'm just not as tolerant as I used to be of this sort of scene :):) If I spend 20$ to park 2 blocks away, wait in a line to get in some where, my expectations are set pretty high. Opera was quite crowded, filled with hipsters and some cool people, but there was certainly a catty vibe felt from the female patrons. Not cool. The drinks were rather expensive, and not really worth it. I felt like the music was similar to every club I've been to in the same area.

My crew and I usually find ourselves at Opera 4-5 times a month. At least once a week for sure! From the moment we enter we feel as if we are VIP's! We like to hang out in the main room with our favorite bartender Chad. He makes a tasty drink and is very fast behind the bar.

Keepin' it real: if you're down with pretentious, Hollywood-club politics this is your place. This past Saturday, I was on their guest list, but waited in line for an hour and a half. All the while these BS promoters and doormen, let only a few people in from the "VIP" line. Mind you, my party was here from before opening and only saw about 100 people let in. We asked a promoter what were the chances of us getting in and they mumbled, "Bottle service, maybe. I don't know. I don't know" (exact quote) while walking away. For me, paying cover isn't a problem, but paying ridiculous amount of money for "bottle service" is just a lame idea (that's killing the club scene IMHO). I can get into saying that they were being "selective": my party was Filipino and they were only letting in people of a certain skin tone (not exaggerating), but the fact of the matter was they were USING us as free promotion. My party was the ENTIRE line outside. If they let us in, there would be no line outside to... Read more

If you go to their web-site you would see pictures and statements which look and sound OK. But in this case the appearance is deceiving. This club is owned by a bunch of guys from India who try to squeeze every penny from the establishment without taking care of patrons. The management deludes itself and the public thinking that they are the best, which simply is not true. Self proclaimed world class DJs would be much better off if they locked themselves in sound proofed restroom.

I just hitt Opera for the first time since it was the former Club 1150 and thought it was real cool. Pretty looking...The set up reminds me of Mansion in Miami, just smaller. The music was okay - they played a little something for everyone. The crowd was hype and had good energy. No intention of becoming a regular, but would definitely visit again. You can club hop in this area so if one spot isn't working for you, there's always another you can pop into.

I have gone to Opera a few times now and every time I've experienced excellent service. From the line outside to the bathroom attendants, everyone offers up a great attitude and speedy service. I recommend paying a little extra for VIP wristbands. The VIP bar has private restrooms and even faster bartenders--well worth the additional $20. I also recommend champagne--you can buy it by the bottle!!

I will not give the club a total horrific review because it cannot be held fully responsible for its pathetic cespool of patrons, but my friend definately had a rohypnol or similar put in her drink last night!! BE CAREFUL!! The place is difficult to get into on sat night in hollywood, but we didn't have an issue with doormen- but I would suggest getting on the list. The place did have a good crowd, but not even 20min into our FIRST drink my friend said she felt bad, we sat down, and within 5 min she was TOTALLY passed out! I had to carry her out and ended up calling EMS!! just a warning to everyone there...it is hollywood!

I came here alone on my first night in L.A. because I took the late flight and just wanted a quick cocktail. I walked up wearing what I wore on the plane (jeans, sweater and boots). There was kind of a line but I just walked up and asked what the deal was. The bouncer asked me whose invite list I was on, I said none and he said it was a $20 cover. Then he asked me if I was with the people behind me (male and female) and I said no. He let me in no problem and I didn't have to pay anything. Decor was pretty average. I expected more. The house music was really good though. I personally didn't think the crowd was very good looking. It was mostly mid 20's crowd...girls in boring dresses and guys in Ed Hardy (yuck. I didn't think people actually are still wearing this). Drinks were expensive ($12 for a vodka soda). I ended up meeting several guys while smoking who had a VIP table, which was ok. But the "VIP" table is just sitting in the middle of the bar. It's not like you have your own priv... Read more

In short With a nod to its historic roots as a 1920s Opera House, the former Crescent Avenue hot spot 1150 unloaded $2 million to renovate and relaunch as Opera. From the staff to singletons, beautiful people pack this midtown mega club and shake it to the sounds of a variety of weekend DJs. The authentic stage, 100-foot domed ceiling and VIP mezzanine opera boxes make it a classy place to let loose over the weekend.

I posted a bad review based on my one night gone wrong at Opera and feel it wasn't fair. Cant blame a club for the greed of disrespectful one door man. This place offers a great venue , amazing vibe and comfortable lounging . DJ knows what hes doing, plays what you want to hear. I recommend getting on guestlist because it can be tad difficult to get into Friday nights, usually a line and a wait but worth it. This place has taken care of me and my friends many nights. Check it out friday nights!

I see many complaints; it almost turns me off to Hollywood. I've seen drama & it usually results from clashes of egos-both men & women. Try to be the sh!t, pretend you're entitled, or act better than the rest of the crowd, then club staff will be quick to shut you down. You can't win a petty battle of machismo outside of the club so relax & play the game. Be humble, realize you're out for a good time, & you'll have fun. I consider myself a good-looking guy. Maybe, maybe not, who knows. My guy friends are average. Been to Opera thrice and got in twice. Here's how it went down, emphasizing the last time: 1) Jun 08: Showed up at 12:30 on a Thur with my guy friend. Zero wait, no cover, awesome inside. I know it was late on a weekday though. 2) Jul 08: Showed up at midnight alone on a Thur. Didn't bother doormen or bouncers and left 5 mins later when a group of guys heard the bouncer say "No more dudes." Went next door to Crimson. 3) Aug 08: Played the game with my four guy friends from out... Read more
