NOT RECOMMENDED...PAWS on Jackrabbit Rd...woman (Trish) thinks she knows it all...my dogs got kennel cough there...she swears we took them somewhere else and got it...they don't go anywhere, they are indoor dogs and stay home...I told her to put my dogs in 1 run together and she charged me for 2 runs...she doesn't listen to her customers...our dogs were filthy when we picked them up so we took them home and washed them right away...they charge $35 per dog...they were itching more than normal and within 3 to 5 days got runny noses, sneezing and coughing, so now to add Vet bills ontop of boarding costs is UNACCEPTABLE! I will NEVER use them AGAIN...and I recommend you not use them either.

I've taken my dogs to PAWS since the place opened an haven't had a single problem with them. In fact everytime I drop them off the staff has recognized them before I even tell them who they are!! Upon pick up the staff can account for everything that she did, it felt like I didnt even leave her at all!!

Couldn't get anyone to answer the phone...hello!?? With all the other competing kennels out there, you think it might be a good idea to pick up the phone occasionally? Hmmm.... Just asking. I know where NOT to go now. Looks like I saved myself some grief anyway, based on what I've read.

This kennel may be a little cheaper than others, but you get what you pay for, and that's next to nothing. I wasn't at all impressed with the place or the employees who spoke with me. I didn't get the impression they had any idea what they were doing, or that they cared at all. When I picked them up, same issue. I could have done much better just leaving them at home for a few days with a friend checking on them. I've read other reviews basically saying the same thing: Not good for long stays---well, that's obvious, given the shape they were in after a short stay! The short time mine were there, they came back filthy, and I found a few ticks on one of them--not a situation that builds confidence. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone who wants to board their animals!

PAWS may not be the most beautiful place in the world, due to the fact the business has been operating for close to 30 years. I've been bringing my dogs there for close to ten of those and even though I,ve come to learn that the staff is not perfect, they are more than competent. They care about each animal that comes in, if they didn't they wouldn't choose to work at a dog kennel, and even if the customer does not choose to pay for the extra playtime, they spend time with each dog individually in the kennel, if the dog's temperment allows. I have been to the facility at both morning and night and seen the sanitizing process that goes on and I have rarely seen the kennel dirty. Forty dogs in one area going in and outside can create quite the mess very quickly but a staff member is always in the back taking care of it. If you stop by right in the morning or evening during the sanitation process then the employee will most likely not let you come back due to the fact that they are in the... Read more

I left my sweet baby Luci there last week for a trip out of the country because they were recommended by a friend. I was told they cleaned and sanitized the kennels daily. Now, Luci is a rescue Bassett and is very timid and scared of new things so I was hesitant to leave her just anywhere but trusted my friends. I picked her up Sunday and took her home to bathe her and she was COVERED in ticks. I do put medicine on her for fleas and such but she was still covered. I had to bathe her twice in Flea and Tick shampoo and spent at least an hour and a half picking them off of her. I had to go buy more medicine for her and they are still falling off of her. I am very disappointed with her care. I tried to call and left a message stressing my concerns on Monday and I still have not recieved a call back. I will NEVER Leave my baby there again.

I am shocked at the negative comments. Many years ago I started using this kennel. My dogs were unhappy at every facility that I had used----even at the home of a personal trainer. I took them to Paws for a day to see how they would do and they loved it there. I started using them when I traveled and my beagle would throw her head in the air and howl when we would turn in the drive because she was so happy to be there. When I would travel it would always be for one to two weeks and when I would go pick up my dogs not only were they happy, well fed but they were also clean and freshly groomed. I do not travel often now but if I did, my babies would go to Paws.

I dropped my two shih-tzu's off last Wednesday and requested that they be groomed before I picked them up. They were groomed on Saturday. I arrived Monday to pick them up and was told nothing. I began looking them over and felt something strange on one of them. Come to find out one of them had been nicked while being groomed. I was told nothing! It looked horrible. They had the nerve to tell me that it looked much better than what it did look. I had just paid full price for a grooming and come to find out they cut one of them and didn't have the decency to call me or even point it out when I picked them up. The other one was covered in pooh. I asked why. I was told that they couldn't help what they did in their runs after they were groomed. I guess they would have left her covered if I had planned on leaving them another few days. I just can't believe the lack of care and compassion given by the employees there. My baby wasn't even taken to the vet to see if she was ok. The nick was re... Read more

I wish I could give Paws a genuine review, but after trying to get information about boarding 3 different times I gave up. Each time I called, a woman answered the phone who was a little bit rude, and obviously wasn't the owner because she couldn't answer my questions. The third time I called, the same woman invited me to stop by and visit the kennel. Thrilled, I drove straight over there. When I arrived, the gate was locked so I called again from my cell phone and was told they would come open the gate. Ten minutes later, still sitting in my car, I called again to see why nobody had come. The woman then told me that the owner could not let me in because the kennel was too dirty, and she wanted me to come back after she had time to clean it up. Are you kidding me? Horrible customer service. Needless to say that was my last call.

PAWS is not a 5star visual kennel. However they are 5star treatement and love for your beloved baby(s)! Each individual that works for PAWS is amazing! They only employ people that have a great love for animals!!! As soon as you walk in you immediately feel the love in the building. Everyone there is fabulous! And so helpful!!! I have never had issues with fleas, ticks or any other parasite for that matter. Upon drop off my animals are always happy and are just as happy when I go back to pick them up! Trish and Darlene are super fabulous people an will take great care of your babies!!

I dropped my 8 month old Great Dane off on Friday before the Labor Day weekend at PAWS. I felt rushed and was not given any playtime options for my dog, nor was I told that he would NOT be taken outside unless I paid extra. When I came to pick him up on Monday, the staff told me that he was hesitant to use the doggy door and had used the bathroom on his bedding. Instead of helping my dog to learn how to use the doggy door, they made him stay in the kennel and sleep in his own urine. Instead of calling me to let me know that he needed to be taken outside, they neglected him, when he was CLEARLY in distress, to defecate in his kennel. They didn't even bother to bathe my baby! He was visibly upset and unclean when I picked him up and stressed for the rest of the day. I couldn't believe how negligent and unkind these people had been to my dog. As the proprietors of a dog kennel, you would think they would show some compassion and help out a dog in need. I would gladly pay extra ... Read more

We have taken our animals to Trish and the folks at PAWS since 2005 and have had nothing but quality care. Our little Brussels Griffons are a handful, and despite their moodiness, the staff has found ways to bond with them and make them at ease during our trips out of town. We've never had a problem with ticks, fleas or any other parasites, and the dogs always greet us well fed, clean and happy. I've tried many kennels over many years, and these people are by far the best I've found so far. PAWS is not a fancy place, but it's run by dog people. They'll treat your animal right.

We took our dog there for an extended stay and when we returned the dog was covered with ticks. Our dog was a very small Yorkie that they chose to clean up last as we arrived to pick it up. The dog was clearly stressed so my wife stayed there for several hours helping to pull hundreds of ticks off the dog. They said they noticed the tick infestation on a Friday but did nothing to help our dog until Wednesday. They did not even contact a vet to research the type of tick. After taking the dog to the vet we had to quarantine the dog for another 4 days until all ticks died off. The owner agreed to pay for vet visit and costs due to this which only came to about $85.00 but still we have received money. This place did not do their due diligence to pre-check all animals before letting in and then made a very poor effort to give the care needed to the infected animals. I would never take another animal to them.
