The employees in the store think they're too cool to be bothered and the wait staff don't even bother to check up on you. A wicked combination which makes a return trip unlikely. The food was about average. Perhaps these kids were too cool for school.

I moved to Phoenix from Seattle one year ago and am still in search of an Easy Street Record style shop down here in the desert. The energy, superb customer assistance and awesome selection lured me in to Easy Street Records every time i had $100 to drop on tunes. They have a second-hand CD section upstairs that always has the album i need to complete my collection. I am such a fan of Easy Street Records, I slapped their sticker on the back of my Subaru for all the west to see! Thanks Easy Street!

Seriously, this place suits a lot of needs. Breakfast on the weekends is worth the wait and the servers move a mile-a-minute to make sure everyone gets their food. Drip coffee is good but the baristas there are one of the best kept secrets in the city - I've never been disappointed. Music in the background is often rich with inspiration in the sort of counter-culture way you would expect from a record store/breakfast place and you should definitely add chorizo to any dish they suggest it for. Although it is mostly cds, records (new and used) still make up most of the upstairs for those people who are still diggin'. Like I was saying, it's one stop shoppin'.

In Short With its wide-open storefront and in-house coffee bar/cafe, it's not tough to get sucked into Easy Street. If you want to score a virgin copy of an old Rolling Stones record or track down Stereolab's "Dots and Loops" on colored vinyl, this is a good place to start. Easy Street's rep is so formidable that during the Beastie Boys' "Hello Nasty" tour, Mix Master Mike even stopped in to pick up some records before the group's gig at KeyArena.

If you're an avid music lover, the selection here is better, and a bit less expensive than other record stores in the greater seattle area. I Drive from Renton to shop here exclusively and am never emptyhanded after a trip to Easy Street. Space is limited and the food was less than satisfactory. If you want an obscure jazz, punk, blues, or that "#1" record, this is your destination.

Please go to another more customer focused record store - these people are jerks. They all think they are too cool and won't help you find the selection you are looking for. There are so many other places that aren't posers like Easystreet - save your time and money and go to any other store than this one.
