Shepard Painting completed the exterior of our home in 2009 and did a fantastic job. From start to finish, they were professional, provided a high level of customer service and was responsive to our needs. I highly recommend them. They provided a competitive bid and also a color consultant, CJ Hurley, as part of the package. Further, CJ Hurley Century Arts is one of the top color consultants around Barbara and CJ are great to work with. The partnership with Shepard and CJ Hurley will make your home look impressive!

We highly recommend Shepard Painting LLC. You get so much more than just a couple of coats of paint on your house. Justin Shepard served as a consultant throughout the entire process, recommending and then coordinating with a paint removal company, a color consultant and a carpenter as the needs arose. The painters were all great guys, worked extremely hard, were very careful, and left our property totally cleaned up at the end of each day. The project manager was even pickier than we were, often noticing spots to touch up before we did. He did many walk-throughs to make sure everything was perfect. The final result is truly lovely. Neighbors and friends are constantly saying, "Your painters really did a great job!" Our house is almost 100 years old, a 3-story Old PDX with lots of details; it is nice to have it stand out once more as a real beauty in the neighborhood. We feel confident in recommending Justin Shepard as a knowledgeable, reliable, honest and fair painting contra... Read more

The Villa Florence Homeowner's Association of our historic Nob Hill condominium community selected Justin Shepard and his team at Shepard Painting LLC after a competitive bidding process. Shepard simply offered more value for the money. And they delivered! Shepard included the CJ Hurley Century Design team, CJ and Barbara, to assist in color selection and to develop a color story consistent with the architecture and the neighborhood....a challenging task when there are 22 owners. From start to finish, Justin Shepard and his highly professional team transformed our doudy 1920's three story building into an impressive jewel that pops in the Alphabet District.

The people at Shepard Painting are consummate professionals, from the owner, to his crews. They are courteous, dependable, trustworthy, and conscientious about time lines. Our expectations were far exceeded by their attention to detail - almost daily communication, color consultation, careful finished work, daily clean up...we could go on and on. They made this process easy! Our house is beautiful! We highly recommend Shepard Painting!

The reviews written by the above mentioned 3 -are friends that had worked in the offices of the multifamily project that Shepard Painting worked on more than 2 years ago. 'Daiseyladee' the only person that Shepard Painting worked directly with, and took any sort of direction from. It is amazing how much time they have on their hands when between Daiseyladee and Dsnichole their are more than 75 postings!!! Despite this, the 3 decided to resort to questionable tactics to write these misleading reviews. 2 of these 3 persons no longer have employment with this community. Upon Googling the screen name 'Daisyladee' and you will find that her credibility is questioned on a regular basis many people over the years and at many web sites, since she makes a habit of misrepresenting her self as a tenant that is treated well by the manager-when in fact she is the manager. You can see that she has modified her earlier posting that claimed to be a tenant- to a confession of our assertion that s... Read more

I spent a number of years as a project manager for a large holding company that did extensive business with Shepard Painting. We worked with them on several large multi-building multi-family projects. They consistently met my two most important criteria. Keeping to the schedule they committed to and producing a quality product . Large projects are complicated. They involve owners, managers, and occupants. It is impossible to please everyone, but in my experience Shepard Painting did everything humanly possible to achieve this delicate balance. Unlike many contractors they were prompt to respond to the problems that always arise in large projects.Calls were always returned in a timely fashion and resolution was reached in a professional manner. The true measure of Shepard Paintings performance can be seen it the growth they have and I am sure will continue to experience. I am currently a General Contractor and refer my clients to Shepard Painting without reservation.

I live in the 'multi-family' complex that was just completed. It's a huge job! I think that Shepard painting did an adequate job on the complex, especially considering the traffic in and out of buildings, weather, etc... For instance, when the crews were spraying the rails in my building, the wind was ripping through the breeze ways, and still the overspray was bearly noticable. I suppose that if you want to go through with a magnifying glass and white gloves you will find flaws, but considering that there are close to 30 buildings here, I think that some reasonableness, is to be expected. One day I saw the management walking around with some of the painting personel pointing out scratches and scrapes on the railings, I am sure that the painters did not cause those, but they gladly took care of them anyway. In short, I think that the management could not have done any better with another contractor, I realize that there is a lot that goes on with managing such a large complex, but ... Read more

I have observed that Shepard Painting has excelled in the residential and commercial painting field for the past 10 years. I have watched them paint and restore more houses than I can count in the KnobHill NW 23rd area, take a Spring or Summer drive and you will see their signs everywhere, and there polite crews working neatly. Also I know that they have painted the interior of El Gauchos at the Benson, the exterior of OBA's in the pearl, and the list goes on, seems were I go-there they are. I see them working on apartment complexes large and small...you don't do what they have done over the years without professional management, workers, and owners. I read the couple negative reviews below, and all I can say is there may have been a problem on this project...No business is perfect; but I agree with Hutch101 that somethings fishy.

I was shocked to read the negative reviews about Shepard painting, its very suspicious as well ,all the complaints seemed to have been written by the same person, or maybe a couple of friends got together and wanted to bash this company for some reason, only they know. Shepard painting has done several jobs for me both commercial and residental, and each and every job has been completed on time ,within budget , and with amazing service. They do cost a little more, but whats your peace of mind worth? Some people just don't get it. They painted my restaurant in pdx and a thousand or so people a week come in and always complement the colors and painting. So bravo shepard painting, keep doing what you do and do well and ignore all those nasty people out there that don't have a clue.

We hired this company to paint a large multi-family community and honestly I would not be able to personally recommend them based on that experience. I dont doubt that there have been consumers who've hired them and found the job satisfactory or even above satisfactory, however based on my experience with this company, the practices of their crews and the unprofessional behavior of the owner I would not feel comfortable recommending their services. Our project was mishandled and the whole experienced was trying and frustrating. Despite my initial interest in considering this company to paint my own home - the experience with them on my property at work has caused me to seek out other companies for my personal home painting project. Good for those who've had good experiences with this company but unfortunately ours was very negative. Perhaps they are better suited for small residential painting projects rather then large multi-unit, multi-building projects. No ill will to the owne... Read more

Shepard was right that I was the manager but I was writing as a tenant as I would never put my company at risk.....and yes I did live there so what I observed was while I was living there. So glad to move out...in fact I ran into the owner at the mall a couple of weeks ago and he snubbed me while he was with his daughter and I with mine. I asked how he was, putting all feelings aside and he ignored me and gave me a dirty look. Hows that for customer service. Facts are facts. I think they do a good job on small jobs, like houses, however a big project is too much for them to handle or at least that is what they portrayed at my property.

This company has painted my home on the interior and exterior. They do a great job, the crews are polite and clean cut, and go the extra mile. The color consult that they provide with the painting project was very helpful in selecting the right colors for the different rooms on the inside. The downside is that they are expensive, but you do get what you pay for! I think that they are a great company and I see their signs everywere!

I would not reccomend this company at all. The painters are very slow, lazy and don't stay on task. They take forever to complete a job and after they say the work is complete there are still mistakes like paint blotches, missed areas all together and this is after the supervisor goes over the project and announces they are done. The people that are hired to paint are easily distracted and they go through your personal garbage. Don't use them ever you will be disappointed. HMM Justin you have too much time on your hands!
