I must admit it has taken about five years to see what a dishonest, manipulative, & decieptfull man he is.
You can fool all of the people some of the time.

He lost 1.6 million jobs, created a 4.6 trillion dollar deficit, left 45 million americans without healthcare, got us into a war we shouldnt be in. He lied about the war, he lied about the economy,he lied about being religious[he supports the death penalty]. Is that what you want from a president?

Bush supports gun laws, I am a avid hunter. Bush is against gay marrage, I am homophobic. Bush is for defense spending, Kerry wants nothing to do with the millitary. Tjats why I believe Bush should win.

 | EschewObfuscation (61) 10/15/2004 | He's the only candidate who has completed the OJT program for that job. Not many senators have been elected president, mostly because it's hard to distinguish yourself as a leader, someone with good, sound judgement and someone with moral certitude. Governors tend to be more electable. One of the very few politicians on record who voted against the Gulf War in 1991, whose political career did not end because of such a gaffe, is going to protect Americans from terrorists? Whew. (Axl, another helpful and witty post.)

 | dmartin1968 (0) 09/02/2004 | George W. Bush will win the next election. The insane far left will say and do ANYTHING to get control of the White House again. Ive watched both conventions and it is OBVIOUS that the Republicans, ( thats George Bush for all you idiots out there) have a much more secure future planned for America for the next 4 yrs. Although I think its crazy to attack Kerrys Vietnam record, the bottom line is he just doesnt have a planned goal for this country. I think most of the far left realizes this, they just hate the Republicans having any control, so they are willing to do anything to change it. Perfect example...........how many Republican protesters did you see making the front pages of newspapers after getting arrested in Boston? I dont recall any. But the Democratic protesters seem to do anything to get on the front page of the paper. They dont like John Kerry for his views and plans for our future. They just HATE George W. Bush, and I would venture to say many of then cant even tell you why they do. Have the Democrats always been this far off the mark. I dont remember that party ever acting this ignorant and dumb. Putting our national security at stake just to get back in the White House. That is just so sorry.

 | luckylouie (1) 08/25/2004 | I believe Pres. Bush squandered a golden opportunity to unite the Country. He mis-used the strong capable Military that former President Clinton left him by not staying on course after 9/11/01. We should have concentrated on getting the people responsible for 9/11. After completing that mission we could then pursued Iraq. But, to get involved with liberating the Iraqi people when we were hunting down terroist responsible for 9/11, in my opinion, was getting off course. Why did we go to Iraq? WMD's?(where are they) Saddam was a evil dictator? (Yes, But, Osamba should have been top priorty)Liberate the Iraqi people? (Not top priorty)

 | scarletfeather (46) 07/29/2004 | If you want four more years of disaster, then by all means vote for this man. If you favor a foreign policy which positions America as an international bully, and involves this country in meaningless wars, then yes, Bush is the man for you. If you love his domestic policies which favor the well-off and have led to a faltering economy, vote for Bush. However, I am looking for a positive change and plan to vote for the Democratic nominee. It doesn't really matter who it is. Anyone is better than what we've got. UPDATE: Whatever, GOPfules. If your hero did such a good job at protecting the nation from the terrorist threat, why is Osama bin Laden still free as a bird?

 | GOPrules (0) 07/28/2004 | Bush is one of the few presidents who have kept their promise to follow the oath of office. He promised to protect and defend the nation and did so by removing on of the world most cruel dictators and bringing down the Taliban which was responsible for so many innocent victims deaths. So that's why voting for John Kerry is not normal.

 | Redoedo (39) 06/20/2004 | My feelings on this election are quite mixed, I truly do not know who to throw my support behind. I am not particularly fond of either candidate. One is a so-called compassionate conservative who refuses to admit to his mistakes as a leader and fails to take responsibility for the faults of his administration. The other is a bonafide waffler who will say anything to get elected. While I can honestly say that I have reservations about John Kerry and have absolutely no idea just what he stands for, I cringe at the thought of another four years of Bush. As an incumbent president running for re-election, I have a feeling that many of his decisions are politically driven. If re-elected, he would have no one to answer to and it is truly difficult to tell what sort of agenda he would pursue, both at home and abroad. This is election that is quite unique as it does not fit the traditional mold of a choice between the lesser of the two evils. I truly do not know what Kerry would do as President, but I am afraid I do not want to know what sort of policies Bush would pursue if re-elected.

 | Sundiszno (30) 04/12/2004 | I think that Bush did the right thing going into Iraq, even though at the moment the picture is not rosy. He acted decisively after 9/11, and should be supported for that. I think he needs to focus somewhat more on domestic policy, and come to grips with issues affecting the economy. Personally, I think he needs to develop a more forceful style (he just comes across to me as being too soft-spoken and too slow in his deliver - much as I hate to admit it, I think Clinton had it way over Dubya in that department). Needs to really get on the ball with some of the major European nations (although those who criticize him for not having any kind of European support really ignore military and political support by a significant number of European nations, probably because the US press doesn't bother to report much, if at all, on the subject). He's doing well in his stance against terrorism, but needs to become more charismatic to inspire more confidence in the average American.

 | Anonymous (1) 01/30/2004 | (REVISED ON 1/30/04) George W. Bush is ruining the United States, and (yes, I dare say it), the world. When the first country to adopt modern democracy's government is restricting basic rights, such as the right of free speech, to its citizens, something is really wrong. In addition, the Bush Administration and their fellow conservatives continue to allow major polluters to dump their dangerous chemicals into the air. Even if the economy is recovering, there is still no excuse for letting it go down this far during the majority of the time of an administration, not to mention raising the levels of unemployment. Bush has made an absolute mess of foreign affairs, from staging an unjustified, unpopular invasion of Iraq to making enemies with almost every country around the world. Meanwhile, millions of people suffer in poverty, and millions of children don't have health care. What does Bush do? He throws $80 billion down the drain in a war that benefits no one (except the oil companies, that is)! And there is always the question of whether he is actually fit to lead the foremost of the world's superpowers. Once, when G. W. meant to say, wipe that Russian sauce of my tie, he accidentally said, wipe the Russians out. Yes, that is true, and little mistakes like that could cause world disasters. Bush does not respect the Separation of Church and State. You can see this too easily when he signed a law in Texas making Jesus Day a national holiday. Remember, America is governed by the Constitution, not the Bible. Ohone more thing. With a very low percentage of troops planning to reenlist, Bush is going to reinstate the draft, and sound the death knell for thousands of young people. Maybe all of you people planning to vote for Bush ought to think before you do it, and save our 18-25 year olds rather than Bush's political career or his fortune. In order for America to be saved, and for the economy to truly pick up, George W. Bush has to be defeated for reelection in 2004.

 | OrwellAn (1) 12/27/2003 | I was gonna bite my tongue on this one, but I'm afraid it's like a red rag to a bull (no pun intended). In almost every other country in the world he's considered a joke. He stole the election, shows scant regard for international agreements, is quite happy to compromise the power of the United Nations. I'm frankly shocked that he backed down over that little issue of steel tariffs with the EU which the World Trade Organisiation had called illegal. The war in Afganistan was justifed and I doubt many people question that, but the idea that Saddam had anything to do with terrorism is a joke. When really it was all about getting a decent amount of oil out of Iraq, which is something the US couldn't do when Saddam was there. He's let the Israel-Palestine situation decend into violence. Incompetent and apathetic foreign policy has inflamed Middle East opinion against the US and alienated most of Europe, but having said that, I can unfortunately see him being re-elected, but you can always hope I suppose

 | jamestkirk (23) 12/17/2003 | A great leader who has done a more than admireable job as president considering the fallout that has had to be faced since 9/11. The right person for the job at the right time. I admire his strength to stick with what he believes is right regardless of how vocal his opposition has been, how he has stuck with his economic policies despite the economic lull that was in place from 2000 when he entered office, and his tenacity to defend this country. Granted, I don't agree with everything Bush has done. It's inevitable that mistakes will be made by anyone in a time of war. He also has not dealt with illegal immigration as strongly as he should since being elected. Still, he gets my vote in the upcoming election.
