I made an appointment for a special occassion for a pedicure. I arranged my whole day for the appointment. They had called me 3 days before to confirm and then the day I walked in they said, "Our boiler broke and we don't have any hot water, you should reschedule" You couldn't have called me? Given me notice? REALLY poor service. I rescheduled...and then didn't show up! turn about is fair play!

I went to the eastside location on Pellicano and had a fantastic experience! I called on Monday morning and was slipped into an appointment with Crystal within 45 minutes. I made a horrible mistake by attempting to lighten my hair at home, which resulted in an awful orange headfull of hair. Crystal fixed it expertly and made it look better than I thought possible without being rude or rubbing in what an awful mistake I'd made! She was really friendly, capable and did an awesome job. I'd definitely recommend that anyone go to Crystal! The place is also extremely spacious and offers lots of room without feeling cramped.

I always ask my husband for gift certificates for massages at barragans, i absolutely love it here Though the front desk could be a little more friendly. I’ve tried out all the therapists though I am more of a regular with Lilly, they are all great at what they do. Mary is good, Turry the guy though is a bit creepy and smells funky, Krista is sweet and really gives a relaxing massage, while Lilly is just awesome, she’s very relaxing while still being very firm getting my knots out and I just feel great aftwards! I will follow those two girls were ever they go.

I was shocked after hearing how great this place was to receive both the worst and the most expensive haircut of my life here. I am going to have to get it fixed. I have long hair, one length, and the stylist left me with uneven, ragged edges all the way around. No one should be working at such a "high end" salon who doesn't have basic haircutting skills. In all honestly, I could have done better myself if I had a hand mirror and a pair of scissors. I did also receive a massage from Krista on the same day and it was heavenly. I recommend her, but I will never return for another haircut again.

Oh my gosh...where do I begin.....I made a appointment for a microdermabrasion facial. I arrived half hour early...after waiting for the 30 min. this woman shows up, gets special treatment and taken care of and I don't even get a we will be right with you. 15 minutes later some woman comes out, looks at me talks to the girls up front and leaves for another 15min. When she comes back out front, she calls my name. That is when I got upset. She had purposely left me waiting. At that point I did not say anything but you could tell I was mad. There was tention. I should have listened to my gutt feeling, but I was going out of town and still wanted permanent make-up done. So I went throught with it. It was so painful! I was very un confortable and she was harsh and she kept carving around the sensitive area of the eye. I was holding on to the bed and making loud noises from pain. She also did not do the whole face. When I went home, I had this uneasy feeling that my face was inc... Read more

My husband and I went for a couples massage. Turns out a couples massage is when two massage therapists do the exact same massage on two different people in the same room. The two therapists did not speak to us and did not ask us about any concerns or requests or special needs we might have or want. We were asked to fill out forms stating what we wanted, but the therapists never even looked at them. I asked my therapist to concentrate on my neck and shoulders but she acted like she didn't hear me. They had a routine they followed and were not interested in personalizing the massage for the client. My husband and I got the exact same, lackluster massage despite having two completely different body types and needs. It was a complete waste of time and money. We didn't find it enjoyable at all, and we were not at all relaxed or refreshed afterward.

I move allot and found Barragan's on my own. I have learned over the years to ask allot of questions and for the type of stylist that I want and not just who is available. I interview with the stylist prior to my cut, color etc. I have one who styles my hair and another who colors it. I have two different people I use for my eye brows. I know what a bad cut and color is and I can understand why people who do not get what they asked for can be upset. But what homework did you do on the stylist? Did you ask how many years of experience did she have? Did you explain the condition of your hair and if this person was best suited to deal with the situation? I have not been to any salon that refunds your money the best they can offer is to fix it! As for their receptionist, yes I can agree they are not personable and it is why I rated this a four instead of a five but I have to be real, I am in El Paso Texas not New York, California or Hawaii were the demand for service is greater. The Salon... Read more

Awul customer service. I had some grown out blonde highlights. I asked the girl to put in some blonde highlights. She said with my grown out highlights, it might look nice to put back in some of my natural color, which is an ashy color. I agreed. When she was drying it, I remarked that it looked VERY red/orange. She said, "Yes, I couldn't put the ashy color on over your previous color, so I went with the red." This was NOT okay with me, and she did NOT discuss this with me before hand. I called to schedule a fix, told her to get the red out, she put a few foils in, and said she "toned it down". It is still red. I placed a call to the manager, but have not heard back. I will never ever be returning.

I went to Barragan's for the first time very excited because I had heard great things about them and had very high expectations. I left the salon crying. I asked the girl who did my hair to leave it about 2 inches below my chin. I left with it barley below my ear. I guess she cut too short from the start and had to keep on going. I was so shocked I left the salon without saying anything, but was in tears before I made it to the car. I called the next day and asked to speak to the owner/manager Yoli, and proceeded to tell her how upset I was that I had received such a horrible haircut. She told me to come in and she would have someone fix it. When I got there, I asked to speak to her and she told me that my haircut was "technically" a good one, even if it wasn't what I asked for and that all she could do to fix it was to cut more off. My boyfriend went with me for moral support. Well, Yoli was extremely rude and not accomodating at all. She proceeded to tell me that I should ... Read more

I have experienced a hair cut, color, pedicures, and microdermabrasion. The hair cut and color were terrible--chunky blond highlights--not nicely woven-- and uneven hair cut. The microdermabrasion was too strong and left marks on my face. The pedicures I have had are great--Irene gives excellent and thorough pedicures and she is NICE.

I am leaving town and need a pedicure prior to this. Although I am willing to go ANYTIME within the two days prior to my trip, they cannot accomodate me. I am forced to go somewhere else for this service in order to get a pedicure prior to my trip. Unbelievable.

I made an appointment for my mother and I for her birthday at the spa. We were set to have massages, pedicures, manicures, tanning, and makeup application. When I called, I asked if having these service grouped would be fine. They were not able to put them into one day (the 'why' of this was not really explained), so we were to get tanning and makeup one day and the rest the next. Upon arriving and waiting fifteen minutes PAST our scheduled appointment time, we were advised that we shouldn't get the tanning and makeup done on the same day, and that the tanning would be washed off when we had the massages the next day with the salt scrub (even though I had asked about this when I first made the appointment. After a half hour more of waiting, we were told that tanning would be okay afterall. After undressing and beginning the airbrush tan process, the machine started acting up and I was told that 'it had been acting up all day'... which means that they could have just called us and... My mother and I went to get a microdermabrasion. In the brochure, they are supposed to be a 1 hour service. Ours lasted 25 minutes each. At $100 each, I was bothered by the fact that they were so short in length. When I went to discuss this with them, nothing was done to explain the reasoning behind it. I was told that I could talk with the woman who gave me my facial. Not acceptable business practice in my opinion! Our family has been going to Barragan's for many years (since before the renovation) and it's sad to say that their lack of customer service will cause them to lose our business forever.
