I was shocked at the review written by Gijima451 for Pet Tender. I think there must be a misunderstanding somewhere because I have been using them to care for my cats for the past two years and am very pleased with them. Perhaps the review was written for someone with the same name as Pet Tenders but it doesn't describe the quality of care given by Mary Jane and Linda at 422 Duval St. I have three cats to who are elderly and on two are on medication and I have confidence that they will get their medicine when they need it. Pet Tenders agreed to come twice a day to make sure the one who needs medicine twice a day gets both doses. One cat is a very finiky eater and eats a food the cat with allergies cannot have so Mary Jane and Linda have to spend extra time getting the feeding done so the food can be picked up. Taking care of my cats is not just putting food down, cleaning the box and leaving. They need much more and they get it. I have complete confidence in Mary Jane and Linda... Read more

Lynda and MJ own and operate Pet Tenders and in my experience w/them they have always been concerned and willing to go the extra mile. In the years I have known them they have not only operated their service with knowledge and care but have done so w/reasonable rates. To my knowledge, from when they were Cat Tenders, they actually find the cat, give it attention and make sure it is truly OK, unlike some services that never see the cat(they hide out and you have to look for my cats). They do more than put out food and water and clean the box. MJ and Lynda actually check on the physical cat. I can't tell you how important that is. A cat can develop serious health problems if it doesn't eat for as little as three days so if it's heartbroken that you left and it's not eating then someone has to hand feed it and a lot of sitters would not take the time to do this. Mj and Linda really care. Many people and vets recommend them.

I am new to city search so thought I would look up reviews on some services I use. I was shocked when I read the negative review form Gijima. I have used Pet Tenders for almost 20 years, since they were Cat Tenders. My husband is a Veterinarian and we are very picky about who takes care of our animals and comes into our house when we are away. We have recommended them many times without hesitation, even to clients with animals who need medications and injections. Our clients have all praised Lynda and MJ for their willingness to go the extra mile for their pets if needed. They have always made all the visits we scheduled and were clean and conscientous of our pets needs and our home. I agree with everything that the owners (Lynda and MJ) have written in their own defense. We have shared the lives and passing of several pets over the years. They truly mourned with us. I can't recommend them highly enough!

As Pet Tender's owners, we were shocked to see Gijima's review. Since no one EVER made this complaint to us; we don't know what the motivation was in posting it. Perhaps they thought they used us; but used someone else with a similar name. We've been in business for 24 years. The two of us own the business and do all pet sitting ourselves. We KNOW what we do and the quality of the service we provide. We take our responsibilities as caretakers of both our own and others' pets to heart. 365 days of the year we make EVERY visit we've agreed to make. We treat the pets and their homes with care and respect. Pets are fed and given fresh water, medications are administered, papers and mail are picked up, "accidents" are cleaned up, love and affection are freely given. We wash up and clean up. We willingly make extra trips or take a pet to the vet if needed. We accomodate last minute calls, plan changes, and the extra requests that personalize our service for each family. Many cli... we used cat(pet) tenders once before but this time when we returned home after two weeks we found our place to be filled with vomit and it looks as though theycame to our place only a couple of times, our litter box was completely full to the rim and the water was old and almost no food was in their bowls...we are extremely dissapointed and will never use them again!
