My experience has been very good. Dr. Rene Piedra was able to replace one tooth that others had told me would be very difficult to do. The results were amazing.

When I was 4 yrs old I had very bad pneumonia that between that and massive antibiotics from hospitalization, interrupted the growth process of my teeth. My teeth have always been terribly discolored and cavity ridden.Dr. Rene Piedra l, and her dental team have all within the past 4 months taken part in a major undertaking transforming my unhealthy, discolored teeth and gums into healthy gums, beautiful white teeth, and my heart knowing the joy of giving out a big 'ol smile that just won't quit! I stand amazed that I can walk through this extreme dental work (my only "good teeth" were my bottom front 6 teeth!) with an absolute minimum of pain and discomfort. Their integrity stands were few dare to venture and I thank Dr. Rene Piedra and our precious Lord for my beautiful, healthy mouth and white smile and growing inner confidence.

Don't believe the fake good reviews. See the truth for yourself in the Btr Bus. Bureau's website. They rated this business as an F, the worst in a scale of A+ to F. Go to the Btr Bus. Bureau's website and search for Rene Piedra & Associates to see. Be very careful when choosing a dentist, and NEVER pay upfront!

Do not let him sign you up for care credit. Do not sign or pay anything until after the work is done. His practice is in bankruptcy and there is a class action suit currently in the courts. Rene Piedra belongs in jail. This scammer has hired kids from collage that write his reviews. I am one of many he has hurt, we are all currently talking with lawyers that are helping correct a terrible injustice. My $2100.00 filling fell out after 5 months. The filling was supposed to be a root canal and crown but during the first procedure the real dentist that does the work decided it was not the right thing to do. When asked for a refund to care credit (opened without my approval) I was told the orginal price was wrong and a filling costs $2100.00. Beware, I was in a room full of people with damaged teeth (incomplete work)and very large credit card bill.

I met Dr. Piedra, and he is the first dentist I?ve ever met and not been afraid of. He is unlike any dentist I?ve ever met: very warm, nice, and doesn?t make me feel embarrassed about the amount of work that needs to be done. I have yet to encounter any pain, and that is a huge relief to me. The staff was puntual and helpful For the first time ever, I walked away from the doctor with a smile on my face.

I would like to thank you and your staff for the excellent treatment I received. For the last sixteen years I have avoided the dentist due to past experiences. After visiting your office all past fears were put to rest. During my visits I was not only treated with the utmost professional care, but also by people educated in the proper manner of oral hygiene. Now I am smiling with confidence and feel 100 % healthier overall. I never realized what a great impact a healthier smile would have on my life and I have recommended your services to all my friends.

I personally know who wrote the positive reviews as i personally know someone who worked in that office for a long time. i was also a patient. they are real nice when its time for them to make a quick buck... but after that they treat u like a piece of garbage.. every review on this site (other than the positive ones) is 100% accurate. they treated their employees the same way as their patients... the only interest there is money. they do not truly care for the well being of anyone. the refund lady caludia is the spawn of satan. she is manipulative, untrustworthy, ugly... stutters. professional liar. they are quick to take your money... and when they do finally cut checks, the checks bounce. payroll and refunds alike. that is why he is losing his practice. i didnt even request a refund from carecredit. i am actively in the works to file suit against his practice.. he better hope he is done filing for bankruptcy soon. his staff should spend more time getting claudia speech lessons and o... At this time he had my folder in front of him and I asked him if this was in addition to what I was still paying from the previous job he did, and he said YES, WITHOUT OPENING MY FOLDER and when I questioned him about the credit that was due to me ($1,900.00), he said that he was deducting this from the new total cost. I then ran out of his office, my heart palpatating, crying, upset, and felt totally used. I then decided to go to a local dentist where a root canal was performed, followed by some gum treatments where my cost after insurance payments did not total $800. NOW, the job that this scam artist Dr. Piedra did (which happens to be my front teeth) started to fall apart - I went to my local dentist and he says a complete new bridge has to be done or have some veneers put in place but the guarantee could be that the veneers would last me a year or perhaps 2 weeks. He agreed that I should go back to Dr. Piedra since I paid so much for this job and when I did the clerk that answere... Read more

I got the veneers. For about a year they were really nice, then I guess they are so unprofessional or money hungry they never told me my teeth would grow out the veneers, now my teeth look too long and I hate them, I went back and they wanted to charge me THOUSANDS to fix just TWO teeth. When I called a lady told me I could set up a payment plan right away and did not need to bring any money ( I am 19 years old) so I didn't, then they asked me for money when I was walking out, when I told them that the lady told me I didn't have to bring money today they were so mean and just told me to leave and didn't even look at me in my face. They were only so nice to me because they knew my dad was rich and paid for most of the stuff, but if you are financially unstable don't expect them to treat you nice. And don't get the veneers if you can't afford to REPLACE them a few years later.... I'm never going there again! Now I have to find some affordable dentist to fix what they messed up. And by ... Won't return balance on my account. I gave them $3000 in good faith and tried them out. They charged me over $2300 for the initial visit and root canal with temp crown. It's been over a year and still giving me the run around, and they continue to hold over $700 of money that THEY recognize as mine. Oh yeah they gassed me, when i specifically requested complete sedation and charged $420 for the gas. I was half awake and i still have bad dreams about it. They told my wife on the way out the day of the procedure that they better put me out next time because they kept gassing me and i kept fighting them. duh!! The last dentist that sedated me only charged $300 for local anestesia. Too bad he's retired. This piedra guy is great if just pay and let him do whatever he wants. But if you as Qs and stuff then you had better beware the run around!!!

Dr. Piedra has made going to the dentist easy again. As a victim & now survivor of sexual assault, I found it difficult to have people put their hands & objects in my mouth due to the trauma. Having the ability to be sedated has made it possible for me to go to the dentist. Having a nice smile makes me feel confident and enables me to have a positive outlook.

To begin with, I am the biggest "chicken" when it comes to the dentist. When I heard on the radio about Rene Piedra & Associate's sedation dentistry, I thought I had found my savior. From day 1 at my first consultation I was very impressed with everyone at the office. They were very understanding and kind. I was still very scared before my first session but I went through it with not a worry. I've been to the office a couple of more times and always look forward to having something done. Dr. Piedra was very nice and comforted me along the way. Now I am having Dr. Esparagozas help me straighten my teeth with the InvisAligns. Who would have thought that a "chicken" would allow so much work to be done to her. I now look forward to anything that has to do with the dentist and take super care of my teeth.

I feel like this is alot to pay for dental services especially when the "materials" are 1,500. What are they putting in my mouth gold? I have an appointment coming up but I'm very scarred by everything I have read so far. RUN, do not walk, RUN away from this dental office! ALL the reviews that you read about the negative experiences are so TRUE! Basically, he will explain to you that you need unnecessary treatments, make you pay for them upfront, then when you do not need "18" cavities filled, it will be impossible to get a refund! He's a scam artist in every sense of the word! Where did this guy get his DMD ??? the school should revoke it! Do not go to this dentist, he's going to steal from you! ALL of the positive 5 star reviews are written by his office staff ( you should be ashamed of yourselves!) There are many great dentists in Miami, do not take your chances with this one! He should be expecting to be sued any day now ( if he has not been already). Read all the negative reviews and decide for yourself!!

As so many other people on here have said Dr. Piedra's is a scam artist. My girlfriend prepaid for work to be done, signed up for a care credit account for 1800 bucks. When she had the work done they told her instead of 6 cavities needing to be filled that only 2 really need it, and she should just use a prescription toothpaste to re-calcify. 4 cavities went unfilled, and of course after promising to refund they never did. We disputed it with care credit but lost the first dispute, but re filled. We have all documents signed by dentist stating that cavities were not filled, and receipt showing which teeth were charged, even though they were not filled. We will be bringing a law suit against Piedra, as well as care credit if they do not find the second dispute in our favor. If anyone is looking for an easy way to actually take a law suit against him for your own claim go to CivilTree on the web. Don't let him get away with this, we are not! The work he did is doing wonders for me personally as well as professionally. I'm so happy to be able to smile. During the procedures, I didn't have any pain at all. Only minute discomfort from my jaw being opened for so long. No matter who I dealt with or talked to there, everyone was always kind and compassionate.

I went to Dr. Piedra only because my sister forced me to go. I told Dr. Piedra that whenever I heard his commercial I would turn it off because I was one of those people he talked about and I had his number programmed on my cell phone for a long time but never called. I felt really comfortable with Dr. Piedra and the visit was painless. I am petrified of the noise of the drill and although I wanted to be sedated he recommended I try without it first. I was given headphones to block the noise of the drill and the saliva remover and suprisingly I was able to have even the root canal done without sedation and I didnt feel anything. I had a root canal done many years ago and not only was it painful and took months to do but the tooth ended up getting infected later. Times have changed. dr. Piedra did the rootcanal in 2 hours and without sedation. I didnt have pain after either. they have modern tools. Believe me, they have a great office and the people who work there are very caring a... Read more

I used to be absolutely petrified of dentists! I ignored the pain for years. I kept hearing about Dr Piedra and finanlly called when I could not take the pain any longer. When I called, the staff really cared about me and got me to come in. My first visit for the exam was pain free and they didn't poke me. Dr Piedra went over everything taking time to explain the proccedures and his staff helped figure out financing. I got years of work done within just a few weeks! No matter what anyone says here, I can honestly say that these poeple truly care! I can now smile and eat like normal and will recomend them to anyone. Thanks to Dr Piedra and his team.

I actually had very good experiences at this office. I am a regular at the dentist and I had been told several years ago that I had 10 cavities. I never fixed them. I suffered from pain on a bottom tooth for 3 months. I went to 4 different dentists during the course of 3 weeks, all of them quite nice including a dentist who only does root canels and no one could find what was wrong. I went to Dr Piedras and I told him I just wanted the tooth pulled. He did an exam with a laser ( I attribute his finding to the laser because he was the only dentist to have one) and found what was happening with the tooth. A bit skeptical I got the treatment done and I haven't had pain on my tooth since, hopefully never, and I am quite pleased that I didn't have to pull the tooth. Remarkably, I felt no pain while they cured the tooth, something I thought would be impossible. He also found some cavities that the other dentists didn't see, but that had been seen several years ago, but they didn't have ... Read more

I began going to this con artist when he was a tiny office in Coral Gables. He began to grow and his care for patients became more of a factory. Yet even from meager beginnings this guy knew how to rob you. He makes you pay ALL work up front and then never refunds you a dime when the work is not done because it was not needed. You CAN NOT get any work done unless you pay upfront and you pay for what HE SAYS you need done. I paid well over 6,000 dollars for a treatment that never worked and was forced to spend another 4,000 more to correct what he had done. They offered me credit with them but when I tried to get it refunded (the 4 thousand that is) they tried to give me only 1,800 back and are charging me the ?discount? that they gave me for treatment. I have spent 10,700 to date on a couple of cavities (they say 16.. I got ?12? done in their office but my x-rays only show 5 done) and ?braces??.. Unfair practices and will leave you high and dry. I am extremely dissatisfied with the offices of Rene Piedra. While I was under the effects of pain medication for a tooth ache, Dr. Piedra and his Sales staff conned me into a treatment plan. Just a few short hours later I came to my senses and called to cancel the treatment plan in it's entirety, I was told to call back as the "Associate" Juan was not available. This was on January 4, 2008. My first appointment was to be the following week. I managed to reach Juan Monday morning to again cancel my appointment. He told me that in order to cancel I had to make another appointment with Claudia the "refund" person, that day at 2:00pm, I arrived promptly for the meeting but was made to wit over an hour and had to leave. Dr. Piedra called me on my way out to ask me why I had canceled the plan, and I explained my reservations as to having my treatment done with him, including the cost, and the high pressure sales "consultation". He said OK and said there would be no problem canceling the pla... Read more

I have been seeing Dr. Piedra for several months now. I have always been extremely anxious about going to the dentist and after procrastinating to go I finally called in November of last year. Since going to their office I am actually relaxed and comfortable in getting my crowns and fillings and all treatment for that matter. It should be said that not only Dr. Piedra but the other doctors, of which I will mention , "Bechimel", are excellent. I recently had an extraction and it was nothing like I expected. I expected bleeding, pain and discomfort. The procedure went so well, I barely had any bleeding and needed no pain killers. It's always like that with them and I strongly recommend anyone seeking a dentist go there.

I believe I was the all time champion of "fear" of the dentist, as I refused to go ALL my life to ANY dentist. I went only once as a child of 12 yeras old, and never went back. Now I am in my fifties. Can you imagine what my teeth were like after 40 years of neglect? My neighbor recommended Dr. Piedra because she was afraid and she had great experiences there. Without Dr. Piedra's fear-free dentistry I would never have even thought about going. The good news is-I didn't feel a thing-even after 4 hours of work- I didn't even know they worked on my teeth. Since then, several trips back and now I have no "fear" and my teeth are in shape to last me for the rest of my life. I know I couldn't have done my treatment anywhere else. I don't recommend any other than Dr. Piedra and his staff!

I just want to share how pleased I am with the work I had done at Dr. Piedra's office. I had a long history of fear of the dentist combined with a bad gag reflex. I was considered a pain in the neck patient and few could treat me; something that kept me self conscious for years and which kept me from visiting the dentist. No doubt why my mouth was in bad shape. The entire staff made me feel comfortable, from day one. Dr. Piedra reassured me that my experience would be comfortable and although I was skeptical, that is how it turned out. I thought I had the worse mouth. I would have never thought anyone could have gotten me through two bridges, four crowns, several fillings and gum treatment. I am sincerely greatful about how I was treated.

Before I went to Dr. Piedra & assocites, the last time I was at the dentist office I had my third tooth pulled from my bottom jaw. It was the worst experience I ever had. It was so hard to pull out the dentist was lifting me off the chair. I almost passed out. Fifteen years later a fourth tooth had broken and started to cause me lots of pain but I was definitely not going to go to the dentist. I was in so much pain I drove to a dentist office but in the parking lot I chickened out and left. The next day I was going crazy with pain and heard their commercial on the radio and made the 20 mile trip South. the rest is history. I have beautiful bridges and can chew my food with no problem. Dr. Piedra and the staff have done an exceptional job. I have never had any problems with Care Credit. They facilitated paying for for my treatment little by little and to tell the truth, now I enjoy going to the dentist. If you hate the dentist, they can help. If I did it, anyone can.

First of all, let me say that I am the worst patient in the world. When I first came in to see Dr. Piedra, I had been to 3 other dentists, which by the way, are supposedly reputable. The first one told me he had to clean my teeth and wanted me to go back to do the check up. The second lady i went to told me she didn't do root canals and wanted me to go to another office. When I went to the other office the root canal specialist wanted $1,700 for the root canal and they couldn't even give be gas. the third office I didn't even see the dentist- I left because the place was obviously dirty. Finally I went to see Dr. Piedra upon the recommendation of a coworker who had had a great experience along with her husband. I got a visit not long after calling, went in, he told me everything I needed to have done, not like the first place I went to, and to make a long story short, I was finished with what I needed to do in 2 months-not having been to the dentist in 7 years. The worst experience . Highly questionable business pratices. Charges for services not performed. Charges for "alleged " broken appointments. Preying on the vulnerability of the persons to make them sign on the dotted line. If you want to cancel treatment , even though you may have not even started it will cost you dearly. It cost me $1,200.00 even though I never started treatment and I canceled the appointment to start the treatment with more than enough time for their office to fill that time slot with another patient. Once you walk out of that office with a scheduled appointment, and you have signed agreeing to start treatment you are literally stuck. Make sure that you read everything that you sign specially if you are using a finance company to fund your treatment. Don't be a fool like I was.

Be very carefull with this practice. My wife had some extensive work done a few years ago and had feeling of getting taken but went a long with it due to her extream difficulty with dental work. This practice takes your money prior to the work being done and steers the clients to Care Credit. If work is not done as specified on the "plan" they adjust the numbers so that they do not have to refund anything. On August 16, 2007 my wife consulted with Peidra and a "Plan" was created to do a root canel and crown. The cost was 2100.00 and appoinment set for Sept. 16. About Sept 10 I recieved a CareCredit bill for the 2100.00 and I was fruious, my wife or I never approved the charges to be added to CareCredit. I had thought I closed that account a couple of years ago. On Sept 16 I went with my wife to have the work done and to discuss the "Plan". No one would talk to me with the exception of the Dentist that did the work. He stated that the tooth was to bad for a crown and he just did a filli... Read more

DO NOT USE DR. RENE PIEDRA! This might be the most AWFUL dental experience I have ever had! First of all, I went in for a routine cavity filling and my tooth has never been the same since! They could not even fill my tooth correctly and I have had numerous problems since then! On top of that, they billed me for procedures that were NEVER PERFORMED! Try getting them to refund your money.....IT WON'T HAPPEN! PERIOD! This office is a scam, filled with inept individuals who barely speak English! I have finally tried to get ,my dental records, in order to switch dentists, and they will not allow me to have my own files! Which I believe is illegal! PLEASE DO NOT USE Dr. Piedra, you will be sorry! I hope no one has to go through what I have endured!

Dr. Piedra is a very charismatic fellow who makes you feel quite comfortable, but he is only the face of the operation. This place is a mill. The business practices of this company are unethical, bordering on criminal. I went to this dentist in order to get a crown fixed. I was told that replacing my crown would cost a total of about $2000. I opened up a "Care Credit" account to pay, at their urging. After a couple of preliminary procedures, I was told that the post holding my original crown in was broken and that I needed to go to a specialist. I suspect that the dentist who worked on me broke the post, because Dr. Piedra and other dentists took dozens of X-Rays and did not notice that the post was broken. In any case, I visited a specialist, and decided to have a different dentist deal with the rest of the procedure, so I went to Dr. Piedra's office to close out my account there. They held me in a room for an hour, repeatedly questioning me as to why I wanted to leave. Finally, ... Read more

DO NOT GO THERE: THEY ARE THIEVES AND SCAMMERS Do yourself a favor and read all other reviews, this one is one of many that will warn you of the kind of service this office provides. they need to get sued. I made an account with CARE CREDIT to pay for their service 13, 000.00,. after canceling the whole deal its been almost a year and they had not refunded the money, and this has been ruining my credit, affecting my budget because Care Credit is still changing me monthly fees; its being a nightmare? do your self a big favor and be WARNED. THEY ARE THIEVES AND SCAMMERS, OVERPRICERS, ETC. DONT GO THERE!

The staff is aloof and rude and it's hard to get an answer to a call. The account was a shambles and they kept the two thousand dollars the insurance overpaid until it was demanded back on several occasions. The dentists and assistants didn't answer questions and few spoke English and none had full command. The dentist was verbally abusive to me when it was my infection was discovered and actually blamed me for his ineptness. My root canal was done with substandard material, infected, incomplete and less than a year later needs to be totally redone which costs more than a root canal. My nerve has been exposed ever since and has made me suffer with extreme fatigue and migraines. This, even though I went back to them to fix it every week for about a month. Avoid at all costs! There are great dentists out there go to them.

I told them if they accept my insurance and they said yes. After the consultation they sat me in the stupid office. In comes famous Rene Pierda , first thing he says is how are you going to pay for it? I told him your office said you accept my insurance. He said yes we do but they they only cover $100 and the treatmeNt is $5000!! He said to apply t to a health care loan. I said I dont have the credit for it. So the idiot calls people in my emergency contact so they can co-sign!!! I was in the bastards office for an hour, harrasing how I was going to pay. I finally told him off! these people are heartless. DO NOT GO TO THESE PEOPLE BECAUSE THEY WILL SCAM YOU!!
