I'm sorry, but that one song did not deserve an award!

Well deserved, beautful, soothing voice. Her debut CD is a class act.

Norah's well-deserved trophy marked seven straight years that a solo female artist recieved the "Best New Artist" Grammy. Notably, many of these seven women were quite young at the time of their award. Norah Jones and Lauryn Hill were 23, Alicia Keys was 21, Christina Aguilera was 19, and LeAnn Rimes was 14. This runs in contrast to Grammy's history of heavily rewarding artists over 40 who score critically-praised comeback albums (Bonnie Raitt, Santana, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Natalie Cole, Tony Bennett, Quincy Jones, Steely Dan, etc.) Regarding Norah, her debut CD was impressive. The songwriting, vocals and production are thoroughly gorgeous and classy. She easily stands out from other successful women her age (who seem to be competing for a Whore-of-the-Year Grammy). My favorite song on her debut is the title track "Come Away With Me", which Norah happened to write herself. Her cover of Hank Williams "Cold, Cold Heart" is interesting, as is "The Nearness of You". It's easy to imagine her talent lending its way to a long, successful career.
