Pretty funky for essentially a "soft rock" band, "Couldn't Get It Right" has dated rather well. The opening guitar hook leads into a nice plucky bassline that really carries the song through to the end. The Climax Blues Band would follow-up this single with the much sappier "I Love You" four years later, but it's the earlier tune for which the band is most remembered. "Couldn't Get It Right" charted in the States for 14 weeks in 1977 (#3), but the only notable cover is by Fun Lovin' Criminals (which is decent).

Props to 'virilvagabond' for even knowing of this band!! I saw them live with Heart in 1976. A great little band that did not have a gimmick or a look that garnered enough attention.
