I didn't see any of it during it's initial run. Mainly because I don't watch much TV and the thought of a program that required you to tune in every week to keep up has always put me off. Partly because at the time of its run, the hype around the show was off-putting too, as I recall – sort of like The X-Files. That said, I've always liked David Lynch's off-kilter work. While films like Blue Velvet, Wild at Heart and Mulholland Drive have been triumphs of atmosphere over narrative and at their best are watchable in the same way as the works of the Coen Brothers. And his films The Straight Story and The Elephant Man are brilliant, in my opinion. Eraserhead was just so fucking weird that you can't forget the experience of watching it. But it wasn't until I noticed Twin Peaks on Netflix that I ever imagined undertaking the effort to plough through it. Freed from the cultural phenomenon, I've been having a blast watching the characters unfold, from the cartoon-y to the colourful ... Read more

During the first season, it was one of the most brilliant shows I have ever seen, but it just got too weird during the second season and they drove viewers away. For me, the most bizarre moment was when Joan Chen got trapped INSIDE a door knob. One consistent plus was the quality actors that the show assembled. Peggy Lipton was at her most luminous, Michael Ontkean was appropriately studly, and they discovered so many wonderful young talents like Sherilynn Fenn, Lara Flynn Boyle, and Madchick Amick.

This show was really messed up and disturbing but it was also unique. I actually really enjoyed the creativity. The only TV show that I managed to see every episode - I was hooked.

At its peak (no pun intended) it was a milestone in tv history. I also loved the way they used people like Russ Tamblyn/Richard Beymer (West Side Story) and Peggy Lipton/Clarence Williams (Mod Squad)...I still remember the chilling scene in the first episode when the camera pans the halls of the school as they are being told of the death of their classmate...

This is probably the most coherent thing David Lynch has ever done, but the simple fact of the matter is that David Lynch is insane. Any attempt to decipher the meaning behind his work is a lost cause undertaken by the irretrievably stupid who will hopefully be led to suicidal frustration. Better than a lot of crap they show these days, though.

Really quirky, but compelling. Some interesting characters, odd setting, and unique premise. Most of the time this was a great show to watch, but occasionally it become a bit too over the top.

I tried to watch this show a few times to give it a chance. The problem was, I missed the first few episodes, and was pretty much lost the rest of the way as far as the story goes. I'm hoping they release the entire thing on DVD someday, and I can go back to the beginning.

This is by far the GREATEST television show ever made. I have never seen such a wonderous and genious blend of the humorous, macabre, supernatural, good natured, brilliant and imaginative story telling in my entire life. This show ran for only two full seasons and left its mark on televison viewers as well as television history for years to come. It gave viewers a weekly dose of the paranormal, comedy, unforgettable characters, a mind boggling murder mystery and a creative take on super natural forces that touch all our lives. And it all happens in Twin Peaks. The series begins when the body of homecoming queen,Laura Palmer, is found dead on the river bank wrapped in plastic. Twin Peaks sherrif Harry S. Truman calls the FBI in on the case and they send Special Agent Dale Cooper to investigate the unsolved murder of one of the most beloved members of Twin Peaks. Several plot lines develop as the investigation mounts and everyone is a suspect. Filled with some of the most believable and inte... Read more
