Cruelly, money is the source to happiness in just about everything. If the couple aren't on the same level when it comes to financial responsibility, then it will inevitablly cause great deals of arguments in the future.

It's a good reason yes, but I would hope most people would have had some sort of clue to tip them off BEFORE they got married in the first place as to avoid the mess entirely.

Every week my paycheck is direct deposited and before I can pay any bills 90% of it is gone I havent been able to make any of our bills and Ive been living on $20 aweek. She wont tell me what shes doing with it and now we just got an eviction notice. Is this a good reason for divorce?

Finances are important, but I place any type of abuse higher on my list of things to avoid (and to not do).

A biggie for sure. Not sharing the load of finances by one depending on the other to do most or all of the bill paying and investing is wrong.

absolutly agree, Women who sit home and bitch about everything and do not contribute to helping out with chores and financial goals are what are called gold diggers. Mining for gold where it does'nt exist. Hard work is where the gold lies and it is easier when two people pitch in and dig for it. If by having children is their way of justifying staying home. They are gold digging once again and using the kids as scape goats. I have two kids and work as plumber. I do all the cooking, the cleaning (cloths, floors, dishes, linen, ect.) I do all the yard work, I do all the financial and goal planning. I put the kids to sleep and make sure they have been read too and have brushed their teeth. I make their lunches and I pick them up from day care. I take our dog and the kids for a walk every night and make sure their every need is looked after. Did I mention I am a plumber. I work my ass off all day long ( no crack here) and put up with people who think your gods gift to man kind when water i... Read more

How can you trust some one when they are determined to bankrupt you. Trust is a big part of marriage and this is coming from a 20+ vet of marriage.

This is not a good reason to get a divorce. It is a good reason to avoid marrying a person with such a failing in the first place. If you didn't know this about your spouse when you decided to tie the knot, you jumped too early. Financial compatibility is crucial to a successful marital union.

We have been married for 22 years and going strong. so far we always discuss big finacial decisions. If I were ever married to someone who emptied out our bank accounts, lied about money spending, put us in huge financial debt. If he showed no willingness to try and improve money spending it would for sure cause a consideration for divorce. I do not think I could stay married to someone who showed no responsibility for money. We are nowhere near well to do, but selfish foolish spending would cause big problems.
