This stuff is kind of a relic of the past. You fry up a lb of hamburger, and an onion, dump Ragu on top of it, cook it till hot, then serve it on spaghetti. In that role it tastes pretty darn good, this is how people in the North eat spaghetti. However in todays world theres so many good complete pasta sauces. People today expect the pasta sauce to be basically complete out of the jar. If you get this stuff expecting that you will be grossly disappointed. Really this stuff is more of a meal starter, like the Manwich of spaghetti. It shouldnt really be called pasta sauce, more like a pasta starter or something. In that role its good it complements ground beef and onion really nicely. In the role of a complete sauce that you heat up and pour over pasta ithough its no good at all.

Overrated crap. Watered down, bland sauce. A sub-par generic brand maskquerating as a name brand.

Ragu spaghetti sauce is usually the one I like to buy.they offer many different flavors in several sizes. I like the "meat" flavored one myself. For prepackaged foods this one tastes pretty good.An almost 4. not too bad for packages sauces. Not great either. but if someone does not want to make homemade Ragu is not too bad.

Sickly sweet and cloying. Most bottled pasta sauces are pretty bad, and this is in the running for the worst of them.

I liked it a lot when I was a kid. Now, not so much. It's very basic. If you're looking for a quick sauce, there's way better choices available.

This is a good prepared sauce if you are in a hurry and don't have time to make a sauce from scratch.

GARBAGE!!! buy canned tomatoes like san marsano or even rienzi tomatoes , saute chopped onions&garlic; till slighty carmelized then add the tomatoes salt&pepper;,oregano, basil let cook for about 30-45mins. EAT LIKE A REAL ITALIAN!!!!. BUY GOOD QUALITY PASTA TOO, NOT THE CHEAP STORE BRAND OR WHATS ON SALE. TRY DE CECCO PASTA VERY GOOD, DEL VERDE IS GOOD, EVEN BARILLA IS DECENT, BUY A PASTA THATS MADE IN ITALY AROUND NAPLES IN THE CAMPANIA REGION MAKE A FINE QUALITY PASTA. Signed, Salvatore C. i'm 100% Italian .........no real italian uses store bought jarred sauce.

I used this for years but it no longer seems as good. I don't know if the quality went down or because there are just so many choices now.

i don't agree with #12s assessment of ragu with meat cause I bought old world style...original with ground beef only to discover no beef in it at all...not impressed...wrong label perhaps...

No real italian cook would ever think of using Ragu, it's just wrong. If you must use premade sauce get Classico.

Water with tomatoes in it. If you make spagetti and you always have water in the bottom of the plate. Chances are you are using Ragu

Are you kidding me? The phoniest tasting sauce I've ever tasted. The third ingredient is CORN SYRUP. My grandma is rolling in her grave.

This pasta sauce is above average for a store bought sauce. I use it for spaghetti and lasagne when I don't have the time for my homemade sauce. Not bad...(I don't purchase the sauces that contain meat however, the wierd meat product in the sauce is too mysterious and it creeps me out...)
