In Short With brown-topped tables inside and brightly colored chairs on their patio, perhaps this Boulevard breakfast nook should be called the Painted Chair. But with a menu that features rosemary hash browns and Frosted Flake French toast, it’s obvious the Painted Table isn’t afraid to be different. The décor feels a bit like the now-defunct Solstice Cafe, with brightly painted walls and local art up for sale. Serving breakfast all day, egg lovers can snag omelets, scramblers and platters but pancake fans get left out in the cold. Sandwiches steal the lunch show; the hot roast beef tastes like a glorious collision between a cheese steak and a grilled cheese, and the accompanying sweet potato fries are thin-cut with the right amount of salt and crispness. Creative burgers and salads round out the menu, ranging from meat happy to vegan friendly... reminding us that this is, after all, an artistic spot.

This is our new favorite brunch spot in the Grant Park area. They have a friendly staff that makes you feel welcome. Their menu continues to surprise me every time we go there with unusual flavor combinations in some of their dishes (fried green tomato and goat cheese omelette?! It's like a dream omelette that I never knew I wanted!). I know that there are a few other restaurants that are fabulous favorites of all the neighbors (and I love them too), but sometimes I don’t want to wait 30-45 minutes to get a table for brunch. Try this new little gem out when you want a great breakfast or brunch without the wait (and without the attitude).

We love this little place on Boulevard. We've only been for Breakfast so far, but they are now open for lunch. Everything on the menu is local and organic, with vegan and vegetarian options available. Service is great by local artists. And the artwork on the walls, rotates weekly.

You have got to try this new neighborhood restaurant located on Boulevard. The food in wonderful and the portions will ensure that you never leave hungry. The she crab soup and fried green tomatoes are fabulous. You are truly doing yourself an injustice if you don't try these two appetizers. I can't wait to go back and try some of the other great selections that they have on their menu.

Painted Table Cafe is a great asset to the neighborhood! The food is phenomenal & the owner/chef is very friendly. A group of friends & I went in there a week ago for lunch after they re-opened for a small electrical problem & we loved it! I got the Diablo burger. It is the perfect combo of spicy & sweet. Other entrees at our table were a few of the veggie scramblers & the shrimp & grits, which were also off the chain. Def. pencil a stop in at this place on your calendar!
