Blows ragu out of the water. More seasoned and not as generic and bland tasting, truely a wonder in the world of mass produced tomato sauce. Ragu's sauce is just merely watered down store brand or generic sauce in a brand name container.

GARBAGE!!! buy canned tomatoes like san marsano or even rienzi tomatoes , saute chopped onions&garlic; till slighty carmelized then add the tomatoes salt&pepper;,oregano, basil let cook for about 30-45mins. EAT LIKE A REAL ITALIAN!!!!. BUY GOOD QUALITY PASTA TOO, NOT THE CHEAP STORE BRAND OR WHATS ON SALE. TRY DE CECCO PASTA VERY GOOD, DEL VERDE IS GOOD, EVEN BARILLA IS DECENT, BUY A PASTA THATS MADE IN ITALY AROUND NAPLES IN THE CAMPANIA REGION MAKE A FINE QUALITY PASTA.

This ranks alongside Ragu as crap, both of them are too sweet for a pasta sauce. It's almost like ketchup.

It's the best! It's like jewelry; the thin, no character sauces are like the cheap crap you get for Christmas from your great Aunt Mustachia, you have it because it was on sale, then don't use it because it's just not right. Then you have the stuff that your new significant other gives you (for (pick an occasion) your anniversary, new baby, first holiday...) that's so expensive, like some of those sauces, that you only use it for special, not wanting to waste it on just any day; then there's the stuff you bought yourself because you like it, you use it all the time and get lots of compliments. That's what Prego is like, you love it, and so does everyone else. It makes you feel good!

A good sauce. I use this as a starter when I make a meatsauce (it's cheating I know) at home.

People that think Prego is good Italian sauce probably also think Pizza Hut is good pizza, Subway makes good sandwiches and According to Jim is sheer comic genius. We were invited over to dinner last night. The hostess makes noodles with Prego sauce. At first bite, the pungent and distasteful flavor and aroma of green peppers offends my olfaction. Even as I scraped every trace pf Prego off the pasta and doped it up with half a shaker of salt, that gross green pepper taste could not be overwhelmed. Fehhhh!!! That meal wasn't the worst part of the night. Having their 4-year-old son spit at me was the crowning moment of the night. For all you people that eat crappy Prego and Ragu sauce, all you need to do is take a few cans of Contadina Puree, mix in some olive oil, chopped garlic, salt, parmesan (or romano) cheese and oregano, and you'll be enjoying pasta like one of the Goodfellas.

MMMMMMMMM: Prego!: I loooove this sauce and rarely use any other so can't really compare it to anything. Just the ideal consistency and flavor-it's simply perfect. One time a friend of mine asked a friend of hers how come she made such good spaghetti and her friend answered Prego!.

Not near as good as Ragu, as it leaves a strange aftertaste long after you consume it. They do have one good flavor that I will purchase if I can't get Ragu at the grocery store, it is the mushroom Prego. But if you have time to make homemade or if you can get Ragu, stay away from Prego...

I grew up on this sauce. I like it , it has good flavor. I have tried many sauces, and for the price you just can't beat this stuff, to me it's the orginal has an orginal and timeless taste to it.

The only spaghetti sauce I've ever really known. I always find the spaghetti cooked around here to be good, so I guess Prego can't be too bad.

Prego has way too much tomato paste taste. Gross! Make your own from a can of crushed tomatos, olive oil, spices and garlic for 1/3 the price.

I think its a bit too spicey and thick. And it doesn't have enough variety. There are alot of better sauces out there for my money.

Great base for a sauce, just add your own meat, mushrooms, onions and you are all set.

Not much different that Ragu, although Prego gives a better variety.
