I Paid $1400 for tranmission work that never worked right, I took the car back 3 -4 times while still under warranty and they did not coorect it - then suddenly when the warranty was expired - I was told I would have to pay more for them to work on it again. For some reason they could not work on it and fix it correctly while it was under warranty. The transmission completly stopped working and they refuse to fix it. After taking the car to A&P service center - with out me mentioning who had worked on it - I was told the transmission needed a complete rebuild and would not cost near $1400 And he also mentioned whom ever worked on it did not know what they were doing. I am now filling legal action against Halsey

I have several VW and Audi cars. I have been taking them to Tom at Halsey Automotive for 15 years. Their service is excellent. Yes, they are busy because they are the best in town. However they are always accommodating and realistic about when they can get to your car. Their estimates are honest and accurate. The pricing is more than fair. They really know VAG cars. The repairs have been of quality and they stand behind their work. They went above and beyond with me when a sub contractor screwed up. Try getting that kind of service on an old VW at the dealer. Once your warrantee is up, I highly recommend Halsey Automotive.

I've been going to Halsey for 15 years and they've never failed me. From power windows to water pumps to broken door locks, they've always given a fair price and far exceeded any other shop in town service-wise. I needed some armrests for the captains chairs and VW wanted $200 each -- Halsey cannibalized perfectly new-looking ones and installed for $10 each! I can always count on them to give me an accurate estimate, superior and timely service, and an overview of what might be coming up next for me, but without any pressure to "get it done now". Halsey is also the best place to peruse the bulletin board for used vans -- these guys really know Westys!

We used Halsey Automotives for a while without complaints. The woman at the front desk is darling, but the owner is very unpredictable. The last time we dropped off our car off to have it checked out, it was returned to us with a broken emergency brake. We never had a problem with the e-brake before that. When we approached the shop to ask what happened the owner freaked out , was agressively rude and accused us of trying to scam him. He made us pay over $100 to get it fixed. I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe the brake was on its last leg and some new employee yanked it too hard and then never said anything. Who knows, but regardless the owner is not rational and I would not recommend doing business with somelike that.

I have been coming to halsey for the last 5 years, and my mom for 25 years! Tom and Brad are great. They have always gone the extra mile, and always give great and dependent service and work. I have sent others to them, as well, and gotten nothing but great reviews. They are honestly, nice people who are great at what they do, which is very refreshing for going to the mechanic, something we usually dread. They make it much more painless! If you have a Volkswagon they are where you want to go when things go awry.

I have been going to Tom at Halsey's automotive for 10 years. He and his staff are fantastic. They have always gotten me in when I really needed my car back, they have found parts that were unobtainable, etc. Tom has always been straight forward with me and given me sound advice. I like Halsey automotive so much that I almost want to get another VW just to stay with his shop. But that is not going to happen because VW are too expensive to fix big problems. If you have an Audi or Volkswagon, go to Halsey!
