I've tried but I just can't laugh when reading the Onion. The writers are obviously smart but it seems like they're trying too hard, like they're putting to much research into their jokes.

They have their own style, do not follow others, and come up with some pretty hilarious stuff. Required reading!!

THE site for political satire and hilarious social commentary. Nothing is sacred to these guys. Nothing.

over the years this site has sparked a few laughs from, but they are typically far and few between. I tend to like to columnists they drag out. most of the time, however, i find that the Onion resorts to chep gags and whatnot, the obvious or pointless. i guess it is appealing to some. that's not to say i don't enjoy political/social satire. i guess i'd rather watch the Daily Show.

This site is frequently funny, though somewhat inconsistent in quality and creativity. At its best it would rate a five, at its worst a three. I wish it were updated more frequently.

Still the standard bearer among satire sites, but is a noticeable notch below what it used to be ... which is understandable, I guess, considering how much they do each week and how long they've been around. It's probably hard to avoid repetition of ideas. Also, the overt lefty political slant of the site is a little obnoxious, even if you are of that leaning. They might have some more material if they poked fun at the left every now and again instead of another Hey, Bush is bad and dumb and he likes rich people and corporations and white people and stuff article. But that's just my opinion ...

Extremely funny mock "newspaper" site. This site has some very sharp use of vulgarities; few people seem to know how to make swearing fun but they do. Most of the time they have a great satiric wit and really deliver some scathing humor.

This site is absolute required reading. It covers the main new stories but puts a unique spin on everything. It is hilarious but also has a lot of turth in it.

I can always depend on the Onion to make me laugh out loud, no matter how awful a mood I'm in. They're the best. Comic GENIUS.

Oh come on, who doesn't love "The Onion"? After all, it is "America's Finest News Source". This site is filled of witty political humor and a lot of creative "news" stories.

Think "Politically Incorrect" teaming up with "The Daily Show" and you get "The Onion". I love it, I have to be careful when I read it cause I find I'll laugh out loud quite a bit while reading it.

The Onion is to the Internet what The Daily Show is to television. The sheer ridiculousness of the subject matter is worth its weight in gold. I'm not going to leave my usual essay-length comment here, but rather say that you're either smart enough to appreciate The Onion's dry humor or you're not. There's not much middle ground here, folks.

The only true unbiased "media" out there. They attack all sides equally.

I love their often irreverent humor. Even though sometimes it rubs me the wrong way, it's always funny. Some weeks are better than others on this site, but regardless there's always a little gem that will make you laugh out loud.

I really enjoy this site. I love reading all of the fake news stories. I think they are just hysterical.

I really fell for this website. It looks like a legitimate website, with it's professional-type layout but the brilliantly though-up news stories will make you look twice. This is a great website to check out when you're having a bad day at work.

I love the Onion. Living in Chicago there is nothing better to pass the time on the L then to pick up the Onion and watch as people casually try to hide the fact that they are reading over your shoulder. The website is nothing more then a web version of the paper without all the local yuppie advertisments.
