As the first Naked Black Miss America she took great strides to modernize the title, but unfortunately the contest is still stuck in the 1940's. Luckily for her she saw it as a dead end and sought out other more fruitful career avenues.

Gorgeous and intelligent woman, viciously used by that shallow pimp Guccione. Good to see that she overcame adversity, no matter how much time it took.

I think Vanessa is a study in perseverence. In those days it was pretty scandalous and she was actually dethroned, I believe she was the first black/partially black woman to win the title. When Penthouse released the naughty pictures she was humiliated and disgraced. The fact that she successfully rebuilt her career is a testament to her strength and drive, not every beautiful young girl (or middle-aged man for that matter) has that. I like to remember how she looked the night she was crowned, completely flawless AND talented. She was an undergrad at Syracuse University at the time and when the scandal broke and Bob Guccione cruelly went public with the pictures, and then capitalized on the telling and re-telling of the sordid story, it was hard to see her recovering, after losing the crown and all its trappings. But, there is an indomitable spirit in some people and she showed that she is one of those. And still beautiful and elegant after all these years.

vanessa is like a fine wine she gets better with age, she has some of the most beautiful eyes in the business.

Her "spread" in Penthouse was enough to help millions of young men get off. She is still hot she has aged very well

A very beatiful lady indeed: to-die-for looks, a beautful voice, and a devoted mother. Her only real flaw is having been previously married to former Laker (and a tag along when the Lakers had their latest championship run), Rick Fox.
