I've been taking my child to this daycare for a few years. I have found nothing but great things at this daycare. The staff is very friendly and helpful and seem like they really love working with children. I would say take a tour of this place and see for yourself!! It really is a wonderful place I wouldn't take my child any place else! They have great christian values there. The building is an older building but they take good care of the place.

The Merry Moppet on Hard Road has had many instances of lice throughout the year. Due to the small size of the school many children pass the lice room to room. Hand Foot and Mouth was also passed as well as multiple other illness. The school is entirely too small and the children in the winter time are filled in these classrooms with such a rapid outbreak. It is highly recommended to look at other centers that offer twice the space for the same price.

Seven year veteran of Merry Moppet who never met the ‘disgruntled’ employee, thank you for your very interesting insight to this babysitting program. Although, it is a fact you were recently rehired and had difficulties working with your assistant till she quit. This could go on to say that Merry Moppet DOES have an internal problem with staffing relations, and how the director handles the center. I would ask anyone if they where witness to a crime, as a Christian would they report it? Not the director Rebecca Groves. Yes, an employee was physically threatened on Merry Moppet property by another employee in front of Rebecca TWICE and she DECLINED to file the police report. The civil and criminal charges can still be brought about against the center and employee for the next year and a half and I ask you as a veteran employee to stay out of a situation you fully do not comprehend. Christian Center… I do not think so.

At the time we were getting ready to enroll or oldest child in some sort of preschool program we weren't sure what to look for or expect, but we had heard great things about the Merry Moppet center on Hard Rd. so we figured we would look into it. After my husband toured the facility, we decided to enroll our son in their kindergarten prep room. The first day I went to drop him off came and he was excited, and with it being my first time dropping him off anywhere other than a sitter for the first time ever was having a bit of a rough time, but the teachers were very understanding and patient with me. As time passed I was able to drop him off without any "trouble" and I got great information about his day, each day. While he was there he was able to learn and have a great time. The teachers there are great and did a better job prepareing him for kindergarten than I ever could have on my own. I am confident that with the loving care and supervision of the staff there my son was ready to... Read more

As a former employee, not disgruntled in the least, I feel it my responsibility to share my experience after reading postings individuals who are obviously no longer there for a reason. The owners, directors and staff at Merry Moppet are the most genuine individuals you could ever expect to meet. They honestly care about the children in their care, and the families as well. I was employed by the Estep Family, and Becky Groves for 7 years- I only left after achieving my Bachelor's Degree and relocating to Florida. I came to Merry Moppet because my mother (who is not the easiest person to impress) placed my youngest brother in the care of the staff at the Hard Rd. center- a decision she agonized over, never wanting to place any of her children in a "day care center". Through the teachers and staff at Merry Moppet- most of whom are still there and we still visit- he was taught love, kindness, respect for self and respect for others, and many other valuable life lessons. Each individu... Read more

this center has always been warm and inviting. many times i drop by unannounced to visit my children. i have always been welcomed to sit and hang out with the class and always have a good time with what ever is going on in the rooms. i have never seen anything to make me question the care of any child . the director is helpful and joyous. she really cares for each child and family. the cook is great and cheery truly a part of the team. The staff go out of the way to welcome and get to know everychild.

In the past two months, Merry Moppet Hard Road has lost two teachers. More teachers struggle with the center on a daily basis. Rebecca Groves has had children brought to her with marks on their body and failed to file incident reports. The directors fail to listen to staff concerns regarding employees touching children and grabbing children forcefully. Other children are neglected and sit in soiled (urinated clothes or diapers) because teachers even lead teachers believe they intentionally urinated themselves. In other instances teachers are disgusted by the smell of changing a diaper and the child forms a rash. Parents are not aware of this neglect and abuse because anyone who speaks out is fired. An employee who filed physical menacing charges with Columbus Police in January against a lead teacher in the preschool room was fired two days later on a “technicality.” Any parent is strongly urged and warned to listen to your child and for their sake please protect them from the neglect o... I have had my children at the hard road location of Merry Moppet for several years. I am always greeted with love and care. My children have experienced many learning opportunites that would not have occured in a homebased care program. The staff are professional and continue to obtain and seek continuing educational opportunites. The office staff is courteous and knowledgeable as well as very honest. The pre-school program more than prepares the children for kindergarten and handle even the most difficult situations well. The toddler and infant rooms are full of fun and love with highly qualified staff with low turn over. My children Love Merry Moppet. My family really appreciated the christain education that my children have received there. Our family loves the Hard road Merry Moppet.

The Merry Moppet Center on Hard Road directed by Becky Groves has many positive aspects. Although, before enrolling your child beware that most tours are asked to schedule a time so that teachers can clean the rooms and extra staff can be placed in the room (request to have an informal tour and if they do not have enough staff- stop by again)! Many of the staff are not properly trained and do not know how to handle allergies or specific medical conditions. If your child has a problem talk to ALL of the child?s teachers (as the center has a high turnover rate and teachers need to be trained on which children need assistance). The center preaches Christian love and community, however if you do decide to enroll your child stay in close contact with other parents in your child?s classroom. This will help if you notice patterns in your child?s behavior because the lack of stability in the Merry Moppet Hard Road center is very poor and teachers vary day to day.

I have had two children go through the Merry Moppet system and have nothing but great things to say about the staff, facilities, and curriculum. We intially started our toddler at the Hard Rd center after being very impressed by the positive approach they seemed to have with the children. The center's director, Becky, was very friendly and knowledgeable and always available to address any questions or concerns my husband and I had during our children's enrollment. The staff were excellent, as well, and my daughter loved all her teachers. The playground is great, with lots of room for the kids to play. In addition, the center provides two snacks and a nutrious lunch for the kids each day. One of our favorite aspects of the Merry Moppet experience was the Thanksgiving lunches where the staff invites all the children's family and friends to enjoy a turkey dinner with the kids. I would recommend to any interested parents to seriously consider sending their children to Merry Moppet!!

Merry moppet on Britton Road used to be wonderful..five years ago! It is very unorganized, we as parents are left in the dark about issues going on with our children. I am currently looking for a new center, I want my kids out ASAP! The director does not even know what is going on in the center. Most teacher are nice, although the good ones are all gone or slowly leaving...what does that tell you? It's not very clean and there is always a weird smell apon entering.

I was in need of a daycare center and fast. i searched neighborhood for a few days and decided to go and talk to the Merry Moppet Center on Hard Road. All of the staff was great and friendly. The director, Becky, took time to show me around and answer any questions i had. My son has been there for 7 months now and it has been the most plessurable experience in working with Merry Moppet! All teachers whether they are my son's teachers or not, know his name and are friendly helpful people. I will surely miss this school terribly when my family moves next month. Thanks to all at Merry Moppet.

The owner has taken over and put extreme restraints on this center. She will not allow the schoolage children to leave the premises more then two times a week in the summer and once for entire breaks. Which in turn does not allow them to continue the community service they were doing and library trips. The chemistry of the staff has gone down hill there over the years. Beware because the staff fight and refuse to do service needed for the children because they are too mad at there team teacher. The building and ground is in desperite need of repair wich is constintly put on the back burner because the other two centers seem to get everything. All in all this center is going down hill fast and something needs to be done about it. A few years ago I would have Highly Recommended the center but not now.
