Start a flame war or two

I come to share to care, then I have to defend my posts from trolls, which is grounds, apparently, to be drugged into a flame war. I know the leader of the coalition comes here for a flame war, until he loses then he claims it all about the fart-jokes. He is a walking fart-joke. Funny but smelly.

The ones who love to instigate flame wars typically end up getting burned badly by the flames that they start. True story.

Nah. But flame wars between others can be entertaining at times.

Apparently my quest to improve the spelling and grammar skills of some reviewers is flaming. Hand me my blowtorch please.

I must confess I enjoy teasing the Alice Crue crew, but it takes at least two to have a flame war and I'm not taking my favorite flamer's bait.

It all depends on why you come here. This is a ratings site, so rate away! This is also an opinion site. People (me) like to opine/engage the “more important” topics this site has to offer. It might not bring in the revenue like the toy reviews do, but until the TOS states a ban on political/social opinion…expect more of the same from this boot licker.

I am not sure that I have started any. But I think they are hilarious. Everyone in them is really funny and they all make a lot of sense in their own right. I usually just make stupid jokes and distract people from going at it with no relief. Kind of like a rodeo clown :D Erinlove/quit, useless reviewer.. Half assed RIA rodeo clown. Now that's a title for the head stone ;) .. That or "I told you I was sick". I seen that one in a graveyard and it made me laugh.

I don't think the intention of RIA was to start flame wars. I would think the main purpose of visiting this site would be to give honest ratings on products or whatever you may happen to be rating at the time.

nope. really do not like to get into flame wars on a site. try to avoid it. Have been on some sites where it gets nasty very easy.{ goodness if you dare to disagree with them} just come here to RATE stuff for fun. if you disagree okay.

I don't think anyone sets out to do this. It just sort of happens.

No, if I want to get into a heated argument I'd rather not have to spell-check it first or have it posted for time immemorial on the world wide web.

A dumb reason. Things happen, and I'm astonished my Irish, Italian, and Scottish temper ( don't know about the Seminole and other stuff floatin' around in there from the Georgia side) hasn't got into one of these yet, but really it's foolishness.

For a while there these were literally popping up everywhere. Usually instigated by miserable trolls with nothing better to do. I confessed to getting wrapped up in a flame war or two when provoked, but generally these are only useful to the useless.

Nothing wrong with a few passionate debates on occasion, but it's just a waste of time to go on a flame war rampage.

No way. When I first joined RIA by way of Google, this was the last thing on my mind. The anatomy of a flame war is very simple: a bunch of meaningless payouts. If someone wants to start a flame war with me, I will give some back. I don't put up with much rubbish these days.

I've been in at least one of these. I don't start them because most people don't deserve having some jerk call them names from behind a computer screen. But there's the occasional @$$hole that will insult you then run and laugh to themself when you try to confront them about it.

The difference between flame wars or arguments and debates or discussions is that one is immensely beneficial and one is quite the opposite. All flame wars do is let two people volley off insults at eachother while at the end of the day both participants slap a mental hatred sticker on the other persons views. Believe me, hatred is never a good thing it dissolves your higher thinking abilities and pushes you just that little bit closer to insanity. I know that seems extreme but I've seen people consumed with hatred and it is not a pretty sight. Discussions, YES! Flame wars, NO!

I'm not a fan of flame wars, but if I here any more of spunky's anti-american, anti-conservative views, I'll start one, and by God I'll finish it one way or another.

I do not think a FLAME WAR is always something where people call names and insult others per say...I would consider a flame war where someone would get a argument completely out of control. It doesn't always mean a person is going to cuss and what not. I used to come here and I would take everything the wrong way, and because of this I would get involved in a few flame wars...but I have gotten alot better and rarely do this anymore. Believe it or not, but RIA has helped me alot in teaching me how to communicate better over the internet. And I will still say that there isn't wrong with a little argument every now and then. It can be fun sometimes.

Ha. I've only been in a couple of big drag-out arguments on Rateitall. I'm in the middle of one as we speak with a cheater who shall remain nameless. Even those whom I disagree with quite regularly are normally respectful and likeable, even though I'd like to reach through my monitor and strangle them sometimes. I am surprized that I don't get more flame messages than I do. My opinions can be strong and harsh at times, although I try not to make them personal.

No offense to DickDirk, but why would you want to do this? I've had some real heated discussions with Pres. X-D over his beliefs about Islam, but we have never gotten nasty. Tense, yes. But not nasty. Adults talk things out in an adult manner. Kids resort to name calling and insults.

Start one? No. Be amused by ones that occur? Yeah. Defend myself if I get blasted? Depends--it could get quite entertaining.

PackRat is certainly taking the high road and I would agree with the sentiments she expresses. I've never intentionally tried to START a flame war - but have usually fought back when a flame was tossed my way. I blame my Irish ancestry. (o;

No! I would NEVER do anything like this! I want to be as helpful as I can be, and try my best not to get myself involved in anything ugly. How can anybody benefit from a flame war? Do people really get anywhere by all the senseless arguing and harsh words against one another? I think not!!!
