Probert vs Craig Coxe: Great bout. 4-5-08: Arguably the greatest Enforcer of all time. Probert was brought in to knock the shit out of anyone who thought about taking a run at Yzerman. Almost every game, he had to accommodate a gun slinger who thought they had a chance to make a name for themselves. Probie could throw with both hands and as the fights went on, he became more dangerous because when the other guy got tired, Probert was just getting warmed up. Update: 7/5/2010 Former Red Wing Bob Probert Dies. Former NHL forward and Red Wing Bob Probert died Monday after being rushed to a hospital in Windsor. Rich Rogow said Probert was on a boat on Lake St. Clair with his wife, children and in laws when he complained of chest pain and collapsed. Rogow said Probert's father-in-law gave him CPR, but his efforts to revive him were unsuccessful. Bob Probert was 45 years old. RIP.

I had to see this guy in video clips, and from what I saw he looked fearless. From the way he fought I don't think he felt pain, a so called "late fighter" he would asorb punishment for half the fight, tire the other guy out then unleash. The videos I saw of the fight with Domi was pretty decisive for Probert.

Just knowing that he was crazy and on drugs was reason enough. Scary boy that Probert was.

Wicked right, brutal left, and the ability to take punishment. The most obvious herald of his prowess was his tendency to take hard shots on goal after a whistle. Anyone else in the league would get challenged immediately, but when Probie did it, the defensemen pretended not to notice. The guy could also score, which never hurts.

Very good fighter. Just keep him away from the booze and hooch. Also don't let him leave the country.
