Ghetto-licious, illiterate, redneck-esque activity associated with those with little or no real education of any kind.

I assume you don't mean the minature Poodle and the Shih-tzu who used to duke it out in my driveway every second morning. That was kind of amusing, mostly because they were the biggest cowards going. As to real dogfighting, I can't imagine having the stomach to watch it.

i agree, Vick should pretty much just be shot for whatever he had to do with it, and so should anyone else whom might find these events entertaining. or locked in his cell with one of those dogs to teach him a thing or two. maybe then he'd learn something-and then with whatever is left of him, shot!

Michael Vick- the most talked about sports player now. Oh yes, he played-illegally. It is troublesome for the NFL Falcons fans to hear this- now they wouldn't want to hear about him as he was funding it. It is no different from cockfighting, where both pets can get injured or killed in a battle. Totally inhumane- who would want to cheer for the opponent to die? This is not a movie or a battle against a terrorist group where you want a  villain to die, these are animals and the only times they fight are when they want territory, defense, leadership and/or mating rights- but sometimes the fights are ritualized and not much injury is inflicted; furthermore, wild animals do it for survival of their species. Having your pets fight to win is not a ritual at all because we humans are forcing them to do fight and what do we get- pleasure and betting wins. Vick, if you're reading this, understand what you did and see a psychiatrist when you leave jail. You were murdering some that can be great ... Read more

It's obvious that this is despicable, but I am getting sick of the hypocrisy coming out of some of the people who denounce all animal fighting. They don't seem to have a problem with boxing or the UFC, do they? They don't mind castrating animals, and so forth, as long as it's done "humanely." I'm sorry, but a large part of the constitution of many animals is an inborn readiness to fight. Now they are denouncing Pedro Martinez and Juan Marichal for attending a Dominican cockfight (a big deal in that country) as guests of honor. They are demanding that all MLB players take "animal sensitivity" courses ... ha! Give me a break.

It isn't a sport. ANIMAL CRUELTY-plain and simple. I can't imagine the kind of person who would condition their "pet" to kill another animal. You must be a sick human being who shouldn't be able to care for any living thing. I sincerely hope your dog turns on you.

I can't get myself to call this a sport. I grew up with a friend (he hated it as well), who's family raised Pit Bulls for fighting. I could never get myself to watch these fights. Now you might think that someone who loves boxing as I do, wouldn't have a problem with this. Well I do. At least people have a free will and can decide what they want. These poor dogs are treated with extreme cruelty to make them mean and vicious, and I just can't rationalize or reconcile with that.

only a sick demented person would like this sport. to watch dogs fight to the death. Disgusting. those getting caught should have the most severe of punishments, I agree with Kammylienne. Let those guilty of such a horrible sport should be mauled by a pack of dogs. that would be a good punishment for them. sickos!

you all a bunch of idiots because you all hate dog fighting, but none of you stand uyp to city and county officials and demand that it is a felony! Write to your government officials and get tougher laws on the books! demand that prosecuters throw the book at these jerks!

Our society has no place for this activity anymore. It's obsolete, cruel, and doesn't serve any purpose at all.

I love dogs and I personally would hate to see them fighting and killing each other. They are one of the sweetest animals on earth. Who in their right ming would want to see dogs killing eachother? Those people are sick dememted people.

This is what this dog was bred for. For over 200 years people have bred this dog solely for this purpose. Hence it's desire to destroy what opposes it. Loved my pits, and they loved what we did, nothing got them more excited then seeing another pit who was anxiously awaiting us. When you have never dealt with a pitbull, or even owned one don't try and tell me what my dog likes and doesn't. Alot of us real matchmen take better care of our dogs then some of you take care of your own children. What are your children doing right now? You probably don't know, but my pit Bullet is laying right beside me on the floor awaiting us to go for a conditioning run.

I agree with the majority of the people that were polled--Dog Fighting is the absolutely worst sport on this list. I don't even think it should be considered a sport. Forcing animals to fight is sick and cruel, and often the animals are abused outside of the ring more than they are in the ring. I wouldn't be entirely too sympathetic if one of the people who force their dogs to fight get mauled by their animals. UPDATE: As far as taking better care of your dogs more than our children, uh, as far as I know, most parents here don't have their kids fight to the death in a ring. Maybe I'm wrong here, though . . .

It is unfortunate that breeds like the pitbull are chastized by the public as vicious animals when it is the fault of cruel owners and handlers. I have a pitbull and it makes me sad to see people cross the street out of fear for a breed of dog.

I remember hearing a story about a pitbull puppy who was mauled so badly after a set up dog fight, he lost his legs and ears. Pretty sad. I'm not religious at all, but I actually do pray for these dogs.

This is possibly one of the worst spectator things ever...it couldn't even be called a sport...it is sick, twisted and just downright cruel. I couldn't even imagine watching one of these things...and the people that participate in them should be in prison for many years...sick, sick, sick !

People who do this are just sick scoundrels. I rescued a pit bull puppy from being put into a dog fight. I will never let anyone hurt an animal for sport!
