Woman fought long and hard for this right. For some reason rarely if ever is it taught in schools how difficult and at what cost getting the right to vote for women was. Maybe if it were taught to high school and college students they would appreciate what our foremothers did to achieve this basic right for us.

America became more of a free country once women gained the long-overdue right to vote in 1920. Even Britain granted women the right to vote sooner (in 1918).
