    My favourite part of this holiday is the Canadian tradition of holding an April Fool's Day parade held on collage campuses with floats celebrating great pranks and mocking celebrities and public institutions.

    This will NEVER be a holiday. How I term "holiday" is a day to honor and in result (in workdays), have an off day. This is just for rednecks to go ahead and do crazy things that can possibly put down a person despite it is for fun. What honor is in that? This can't be celebrated; it is a silly adaptation to what Mardi Gras lacks, and if you're Roman Catholic, it is highly likely that the day lands on Lent. So think if your prank is also a sin....

    It's a great day to pull off pranks, and to see what bizarre stuff ends up in the newspaper, and on TV. This is one of my favorite pranks of all time!

    Great day to play those practical jokes on everyone you love (or hate) at home or the office. The shrink wrap on the toilet seat trick never gets old does it?

    Whatever the origins of this day I find this day to be of great fun. In more recent years the Internet culture has embraced it with open arms and has produced a myriad of jokes that range from the most outrageous ideas to the plausible all in an attempt to fool people. It is one of these very jokes that brought about the Taun Taun sleeping bag - a product which now exists due to the high demand for it after an April Fool's joke claimed it to be a real thing.

    Not much of a "holiday", per se, but it's fun nonetheless. Here's a list of what some consider the top 100 April Fool's Day Hoaxes of All time ( . . . and yes, it's a real link): http://www.museumofhoaxes.com/hoax/aprilfool/index UPDATE: Has anyone checked their gmail account yet? Cute one . . .   ;

    This should be made a national holiday limited to the area around Captitol Hill in the District of Columbia.

    Lots of fun to be had here if you and your friends have a sense of humor! A little creativity doesn't hurt either...but make sure you've considered every possible way your prank could go wrong!

    Fun while in school, but really doesn't have any significance for me and sometimes it passes without me even knowing about it.

    It can be a laugh as a kid,usually harmless and pleasant enough pranks,though there were always some who tended to take it too far.The media have pulled some fast ones in Britain-years ago,when spaghetti was a novelty here(before my time i must add)a TV report convinced many that it grew on trees!As a teenager i read one magazine article about some Amazonian tribe in which the girls change into boys ,or was it vice-versa?-at puberty.I was amazed,and believed it for years,but now can only assume it appeared on 1st April.Anyway,i only hope in the light of yesterday's Tonydanzaman/DickDirk disclosure a whole month ahead of 1st April(see the recent,and a couple of the April Fool,comments),that we don't find out on the day itself that DickDirk is also a persona imagined by some Mongolian yak herdswoman who's done a computing course at Ulan Bator,and now idles away the dark nights in her yurt,on the RIA website!

    Overall, a harmless 'fluff' holiday where some people tell harmless stories or pull off simple pranks. Better than a depressing day!

    "Let's fool people!" Oh please...what a stupid idea, for a stupid day. Let's get rid of it. Quick, somebody get the net!

    It was fun, like Dorkavich says, when we were 6 years old, but anymore, who even goes along w/ April Fools Day. Is a national holiday for a real reason, cause I would love to know what that reason is.

    This holiday is the worst! First of all, It hurts People's feelings when someone pulls a prank on them. Second, It is annoying when people keep lying to you and saying "April Fool's"

    A nasty day that lets people have jokes at other people's expense.How fun.the sad part is that some people can get real mean with their jokes and if the victim does not find it funny, they are a poor sport.

    I guess I did not know this was considered an actual holiday. I just thought it was a day with some level of notoriety. I really don’t think much of it as pure holiday and never gave it much thought to begin with.
