calvary has been my home church for almost 15 years... that says it all. HOWEVER, my family liked the church originally because of great teaching, and.... it felt small. over the years (i'm 16....not) it has grown but for some reason it still feels small to me. where can you go and get your personal flavor for worship. young and old alike can find a place to worship in song and experience the joy of the LORD. Pastor Mark is the best teacher of the Bible hands down. God please bless every person in our Calvary family from new believer to tried and true saints. if you haven't tried Calvary and your in need of a church home, try it out, and be washed with Gods word. if you have been to Calvary and you didn't get anything out of it...... perhaps you're......(xxxx).

I tried many churches in the area and now attend Calvary for a reason! I love this place, but more importantly, this church loves Jesus Christ. Great place to come for people of all ages.

I did not truly know God until I met Calvary, and I have been a Christian all my life. The church preaches grace and love and come as you are, in dirty jeans and sandals, if thats all you have. Pastor Mark brings bible truths down to my level so that I can understand it. He tells me things I have never known before, and I have been going to church all my life. I live out of state now, but I miss Calvary terribly and am considering moving back to arizona for the sole reason of Calvary Community Church.

Calvary Community Church is a Spirit filled Bible believing church with some of the best Pastors I have ever encountered. Pastor Mark is a loving concerned and professional preacher and the children s ministry is the best bar none. Calvary does preach the Bible so if your not ready to listen to the truth from God's word then you may be uncomfortable. I know I was. But as God takes a greater hold on your life the word of God becomes a stronger influence. Phil Cook

This church is accepting and caring. I will admit myself that absolutely no one can deliver a message like Pastor Mark. I came down with Cocci Meningitis in February I lost my job and was hospitalized twice but Calvary came through they brought me a Get Well Basket and Gods love right to my front door when I was too sick to do anything. This church sets the standard of what a church should be.

I have been attending Calvary for over 25 years. It never ceases to amaze me that God's Word is alive and active in our lives. There is always something that can be learned everytime the Word is taught in Truth. Calvary has been a blessing in our family's lives. My children have grown up hearing the pure Word of God knowing how much they are loved and accepted by our Lord Jesus.

CCC is a great church, where you get the truth taught! If you want a PC church, go somewhere else! Pastor Mark teaches from the bible and does not surgar coat his teaching. You will not find a church that is perfect, because we are all imperfect people. Plus, CCC is a caring and warm place to worship.

Calvary was recommended to my wife and I by our pre-marrital counselor. She had nothing but good things to say about Calcary. It has so many groups to get involved in that you are sure to find something that intersts you. It is a church that focuses on God and the Bible.

I have been attending Calvary Community Church for almost 7 years now, and have been so blessed by it. The Word is always preached, and the love is always shown there. And Pastor Mark has been a great shepherd to his flock. I can honestly say it feels like home.

We were searching for a Biblically Sound church and found it. This church also offered, amazing worship times to the Lord and a very friendly community. We have been challenged and encouraged in this body of Christ and are grateful for the leadership.

Calvary Community Church is a congregation that honors God and inspires people. Pastor Mark Martin has built a solid foundation for the church's spectacular growth by keeping the gospel of grace in Christ Jesus clear and central, while consistently teaching the Bible verse-by-verse, and truly loving the people he shepherds. God's favor is on this congregation. As you enter the worship you can feel the enthusiasm of the people and the energy of the Holy Spirit. What a blessing Calvary is to the city of Phoenix and beyond!

Calvary is the place where I've been sown into for the past 6 years. Pastor Mark teaches from the bible with prayerful teaching and I haven't heard anything yet that I've had to question. He truly is a man of God and we love him dearly. He teaches prayerfully from the Word, and only from it. Calvary is the place where I accepted the Lord into my life. Many times halfway through the week, I can't wait to get back to church. I feel safe there, and I enjoy worshipping Him through music. I enjoy getting to know the Lord through church and Calvary does that for me. To take directly from the mouth of Pastor Mark: 1. Find a church where you fit in. 2. Find a church where you are fed the Word of God in grace. 3. Find a church where you can be fruitful in service to that fellowship of believers. 4. Find a church where you find sweet and encouraging fellowship with the believers there. Calvary does all these for me. The Bible is the perfect Word of God at this church, and it's held in highest... My Wife & I have been members for about 12 years now at Calvary Community Church and serving in ministries there for most of that time. It is an absolutely marvelous church that teaches God's Word verse by verse straight from the Bible. It is the kind of place where just walking through the doors into the church you can feel the presence of the Holy Spirit and your attitude will just start to change immediately. I confess that more than once I have been angry or depressed by the time I arrived at CCC because of circumstances that I let get to me in the process of getting ready to go to church, but my whole countenance will just melt away into the joy of being in God's presence and bring a smile to my face and the peace that passes all understanding. In the course of performing the duties of the ministry I am involved in over the years I have had the opportunity & privilege of of observing the Senior Pastor J. Mark Martin both in and out of the limelight as well as other Pastors, E... Read more

The teaching at Calvary Community Church is incredible! The main pastor, Mark Martin is so gifted....and he teaches on a level where most anyone can grasp what he's teaching with ease. When our pastor takes a little break, which isn't very often, we have several other pastors who fill in and every single one of our other pastors are amazing teachers as well! Each pastor has his own style of teaching, but every single one of them will catch my attention and hold it through the entire service, which is saying a lot! I love all of our pastors and their wives! Every single of of these pastors and their wives give their all for us. They reflect the love of Jesus in every thing they do and you can feel the love just radiating from their faces! I've seen our pastors and their families go through many trials in their lives, but they keep their eyes on Jesus and He is always faithful to delivery them in their time of need, just as He has always delivered me in my times of need! I came to Calvary 23 years ago when a friend invited me to her church...she told me I would "love" the pastor and that I would be "loved". They were meeting in a Wood Shop at a school....about 30 people! I am here to tell you 23 years later, that this was an absolutely true statement from day one. The church is a smidge bigger now...:)....but the love has gotten bigger too. I have had many conversations with Pastor Mark where he has actually paused for a minute or two and prayed silently then and there before answering. This is a man who loves, fears, and lives for the Lord. It is evident in His character, his family life, and when you see him on the street! And from the podium, the Word of God is shared without compromise, and with great love. Leslie, Pastor Mark's wife and head of Women's Ministries is an amazing servant of God, who through many years of pain and agony due to crippling arthritis has stood beside her husband supporting him, and endeavoring to teach women to love Je... This is the most amazing church I have ever attended! The first time I went there, I KNEW that it would be my favorite church forever! The teachings are straight from the Bible - verse-by-verse rather than topical and I love that. Both Pastor Mark and Leslie teach in depth from the scriptures, but they use humor and application to get the message across. You can tell that they have LIVED and are living everything they teach. They apply things to themselves and even 'tell stories' on themselves to show that they are still learning from the Lord, too. Everyone is friendly -- from the very first time you enter the door you are welcomed with a hearty handshake or a beautiful, sincere smile. Doors are opened for you, and one time when I had a flat tire, when I got to my car someone had already filled it with air and were at my car waiting to tell me to get it fixed! I am fed spiritually, and even though it is a big church, there are small groups -- even home groups, where you are wel... Read more

I and my family enjoy this church. I left the church for about 20+ years because I didn't care for the games and drama of churches. I had a friend invite me to CCC on Easter of 2009. I rededicated my life back to Christ on that day, and have been attending there ever since. Is CCC perferct or the people NO!!! ONLY JESUS is perfect. I can say that CCC is accepting of people and where they are with thier walk. CCC doesn't preach the word THEY teach the word. I have never experienced any of the pastors or Ministry leaders preaching at anyone. They read from the Bible and encourage you to read along. So you learn and see for yourself. They encourage note taking so you learn and have something to refer back on. I believe CCC is a wonderul church and may not be for everyone but I say this don't knock it till you try it. It may surprise you. I challenge everyone to give a try. What do you have to lose? You will only gain knowledge of GOD. I know I took the challenge and now my ... Read more

Calvary is home...before we go to heaven, that is. Compassionate, loving, merciful and full of GRACE describes the pastors/teachers of Calvary. The Word of God is taught -- not just topical sermons to make you feel good for the week. Not just the fluff that makes you feel like you've done your "religious" duty for the week. But, real encouragement -- real teaching that helps you to know God better and to walk with Him in knowledge and grace and changes you and your life and the lives of your family. As a parent I know the importance of raising my kids in love and grace and understanding, but there is also a time for correction and even discipline. This isn't always pleasant, but is necessary, and again...because I love my children and want the best for them. God is our parent and at times we need to be corrected as well. Calvary teaches the whole of the Bible...including the stuff that is hard to hear, because our Heavenly Father loves us and wants the best for us. I appreciate that th... Read more

If you are in need of healing from the world or a bad experience at another church or another religion, Calvary Comm. is a place to go. The teaching is conservative-evangelical, solid, and always biblically supported. Even the assistant pastors could teach Bible College classes in any University. The fellowship is always welcoming, the opportunities to get involved in ministry are numerous...If you want to sit and get fed and heal for a while, you would do well to do it under Mark's teaching. If you want to find a place where God can use you, the Pastoral staff can help find where God can use you best...and all the while, you will meet some of the greatest group of loving Christians that live in the Phoenix area. My wife and I moved to Phx and started serving and attending Calvary right away and 9 yrs later we are now missionaries in Mexico sent out from there. There is no greater vacation for us than to go back to CCC, join in the worship, study the word, and fellowship with our famil... Read more

I have gone to church at calvary for about 7 years. I am friends with pastor Mark Martin's daughter. I feel that it is a very accepting church and he preaches the word of God well he knows his stuff. There are lots of worship leaders so you may like some and not others so you just go to the service that the ones you like are at. It may be a big church but once you get involved it doesn't feel as big you feel like you are part of a family. Everyone is nice and caring and will do anything to make you feel welcome or help you in anyway they can. They have a great childrens ministry and youth ministry's. The college group is still getting its start but they do offer a college group. They have adult bible studies both during the week and on sunday's, both mens and womans bible study and they provide childcare for small children during the womans bible study. They take the youth to winter and summer camp every year the college group goes on lots of outings and has a camp they go to every yea... Read more

I grew up in the church. A good denomination where grace was taught but somehow rarely seen in action. As a result, I lived the law THINKING it was grace. I am SO thankful to the Lord for bringing me to CCC where the grace of God was taught AND lived out by a majority in the fellowship, not a minority. Grace is gloriously contagious. I caught it, Praise God! Because of Calvary I've been growing in grace for 26 years now. Still so much growth ahead of me too. But in a day when so many churches are teaching fluff and using gimmickry and bending over backwards to be seeker-friendly and "hip", Calvary remains a place where you get the "meat" of the Word served up w/love in song AND the spoken word. It is the only church my 3 teenagers have ever known and they LOVE to come. What a blessing it is to NOT have that classic fight going on of making the kids get up and get out the door to church! I am blessed beyond belief!

Lets just put it this way, when my husband and I left Massachusetts in 1997 we both swore that we would NEVER go to church again or have anything to do with God. We had been burned by a number of churches and just felt it was ALL a waste of time. Well we have been going to Calvary Community Church now for 8 years. The teaching is amazing! It is so great to be taught directly from the Bible! It is amazing what a true church family can be like. Calvary is a Bible teaching church. The leaders are very transparent and down to earth. We are encouraged to bring our Bible AND open them and take notes during the service. My husband and I believe that God moved us to Arizona so that we would learn more about Him! There are many many small groups to be involved in which even helps to learn more about God. My husband and I can't imagine belonging to any other church family than the one we have at Calvary Community.

If you're looking for a place where Jesus and the Bible take top priority, you'll be well-pleased. There are ministries for people of all ages and gifts. There are weekly signs of the Holy Spirit at work. And there are also lives becoming completely changed by the grace of Jesus. I challenge you to find a single thing that doesn't cohere with the teachings of the Bible. I further challenge anyone who doesn't like Calvary to put their own beliefs and actions up to the test of aligning with the Bible. When you look into the mirror, do you see Jesus' teachings reflected back or is that speck of dust in your own eye too difficult to see clearly through?

Calvary Community Church rocks! Just be there when Ben leads worship and you'll know what I mean! I have attended Calvary since 1999 and have witnessed many changes over the years. Some I have agreed with and some not. But you know what? Calvary welcomes the opinion's of its congregation, prays and acts according to God's direction. A great example for all Christians. Is Calvary a perfect church? No. But if you are out there looking for a perfect place of worship, in all probability you will be looking for a long time! By the way, if you are looking for that perfect church and find it, the second you start attending it won't be perfect anymore!

I have attended Calvary for 19 years and have learned so much during that time. I am a former adventist and the first Sunday I attended I knew I was "home." I watched the church grow from about 500 members to what it is today. The teaching from Pastor Mark and the associate pastors is always right on and Biblically sound. The children's ministry is awesome, my 3 boys loved attending. At the moment my family and I are living overseas and not being able to attend Calvary on a regular basis which contributes to my homesickness. I tune in whenever I have the opportunity or listen to an MP3 message so I am never truly far from my church home! :)

If you want a church that gives you lip sevice and turns a blind eye to sinful lifestyles then Calvary is not the place for you. On the other hand, if you want to attend a church where the Word of God is preached without apology and enjoy being surrounded by others who love Jesus then I'd reccommend it without hesitation. From their upbeat worship music to concern for their neighbors and country Calvary is a great place to Worship the God of all people. All those seeking God are welcomed. They offer multiple service times and services can even be viewed on the web for those not able to attend in person.

Look I am 15 year old kid who goes to Calvary Community Church and I just have to say that it’s the best church I have been to. There are plenty of things for people of all ages to go to. It may be a large Church but for the 7 years I have been attending it’s become a part of my life. I have become close friends with Pastor Mark’s son and I am also am part of the High School Worship Team. This Church is not in it for the money, yes we have offering but that’s to help we don’t make anyone give to the Church. We may have two campuses but it feels like home no matter what one you go to. Our Worship is focused on giving praise to God and there are many different Worship Leaders and they each have their own style so you can go to whatever one you want to and still be praising God, and that is what Calvary Community Church is all about. I am just 15 and I know that a church is not just a building it’s the people inside that make the Church.

CCC promotes hatred between people of different religious beliefs, puts down other churches, and tries to proselyte members from other sects. Their preacher is quiet, but haughty, and has a thing or two to learn about life. In my opinion, he and Haggard are men of the cloth "cut from the same cloth."

While Calvary Community Church on I-17 and Thunderbird isn't perfect, Mark Martin is a very well spoken, engaging preacher. He doesn't hoot and holler but speaks in measured tones. And best of all, teaches from the Bible. It's a little too casual in my opinion and the music can be better, but offers much for a seeking soul.
