I love Kazaa. I'm talking about the new, legal Kazaa. Wikipedia says that Kazaa has been legal since 2006... I'm saving a lot of money now that I use Kazaa, coz I used to buy a CD probably every week, for $20. That's about $80 a month. Now I can listen to as much music as I want from Kazaa, for just $20 a month! It’s a no-brainer.

Kazaa now hosts millions of tracks (the selection is vast) at great speeds with a good download rate (Kazaa ensures that downloads usually complete), without slowing down all other processes, so you can continue downloading files while using other programs simultaneously (also the internet). Kazaa was one of the online music pioneers, and they continue to deliver quality music. I've tried other services, which turns out to be nothing special (which is to say crap). Kazaa is by far the best music site I've encountered.

This program blows. I tried it to find a few DivX videos for my kids. The kazaa search engine is loaded with nothing but porn. I tried to uninstall Kazaa but the F-ing crap wouldn't uninstall. I tried searching out all Kazaa files on my PC to delete them - my PC was riddled with Kazaa crap files. In the end a system restore and complete HD virus scan was needed to get rid of the Kazaa plague. DON'T DOWNLOAD KAZAA - IT'LL KILL YOUR COMPUTER. Regards, Duane M.

I can only assume that anyone who likes this program had never tried eDonkey or WinMX.

Once my daughter's boyfriend put this on my pc, boy was I pissed. This stuff is bad for your pc, gives you viruses and whatever else. Not worth it at all.Had to reformat just to get the dang thing off again.

Kazaa is a terrific example of a great idea that failed miserably and resulted in the piece of junk that it is today. Kazaa now hosts mislabeled or corrupt files (the selection is vast, but at low or no quality... most songs start out well the first 15 seconds and then this screeching noise blares out: it gave me a near heart attack the first time it happened to me) at sluggish speeds with a frustrating successful download rate (often downloads are cancelled, pending or searching for users, and seem to never get completed), while poisoning your computer with adware and viruses and slowing down all other processes, so don't plan on downloading files while using other programs simultaneously (especially the internet). I admit, Kazaa was one of the pioneers that started P2P file sharing, however the quality of it has drastically decayed, and I've deleted all the components that Kazaa has seared onto my computer. Ever since, I've tried Morpheus, which turns out to be almost identical in qu... Read more

While I can often locate more difficult to find songs on KaZaA, there seems to be fewer higher quality versions (ie 320 bitrate) than on other P2P networks (eg WinMX). Moreover, when I try to designate specified shared folders, KaZaA Lite (the only version that I have ever used) still seems to flag them all as shared. The software itself has a nice feel, looks good, and is intuitive. Also, downloads are relatively fast due primarily to multiple sources. As other comments have noted, KaZaA does have a slight memory leak which will slow a computer down after time (requiring a reboot).

Everytime I have downloaded Kazaa my computer has crashed due to a virus. I can't keep backing up my hard drive. And apparently Kazaa Lite cost money. I suggest downloading torrents from suprnova.org.

got rid of it due to the bombardance of spyware and too many queued files. also sent a virus into my computer. to the rest of you it is only a matter of time before your pc messes up and you got to do a factory reset.

So far, this is the best search engine going right now with the most reliable links between sharers. You gotta love a site that'll let you check out music to make sure you really like it without costingyou a dime. You'll never feel ripped off by a consumer store ever again.

It's good. Of course, that means it will be shut down eventually. Decent choices of music to download. . .pretty easy to use.

Kazaa gives me access to things I never would have had the chance to see or hear. It's not just great music, but I can get SNL skits and other TV shows. I just hope it doesn't get shut down!

I like KaZaA for the fact that it is p2p and the government agencies have a hard time stopping it.

Yes, copying ripped files is illegal and in some cases hurts sales. On the plus side, I've discovered tons of new music artists that I never would have been exposed to because of the limited playlists of radio. I've promoted discovered artists to friends and have bought CDs that I wouldn't have otherwise from previewing mp3s. KaZaa has an immense network and offers impressive peer-to-peer sharing technology. I recommend Diet KaZaa or KaZaa Lite from cnet.com if you want a version of the software without the annoying pop-up ads.

Kazaa is good but kazaa lite is better because it lacks the spywear and ads.

Weak imitation of Napster is just too slow, and doesn't have enough of a selection. There's also viruses and all that jazz which doesn't thrill me.

I really like the idea of p2p networks and I think as far as functionality goes Kazaa is the best. I must admit, however, that its a bit of a mixed blessing, Kazaa installs adware on your computer that collects info about the websites you go to and gives you a lot of pop up ads. To temporarily get rid of them, go into your system32 file in windows, then delete Adcache. That will get rid of them until the next time you open Kazaa.

Problem with this site is that too many contributors obviously don't know who recorded the music they are trying to share. C'mon, DAYDREAM BELIEVER by THE BEATLES? There are hundreds of examples of mismatched music and artists. One other thing.....I saw a version of NORWEGIAN WOOD which said "extremely rare" next to it. After listening to about 30 seconds it was clear that this was some yokles attempt to pull something over on the masses. It was a weak try at sounding like John Lennon in a studio environment. I wrote the guy a note and told him his buffoon act needed a lot of work. Can't even say "nice try" to that one.

it's alright since audiogalaxy went down. often their selection isn't large enough to accomodate me. i've been disappointed in it, but i'm all for p2p, so i'll keep it until something better comes along.

It is a convenient site where you can easily download and organize material into various folders. Since Napster is all but shut down, it is the best out there that can be used on a frequent basis.

The Morpheous application that is used to download mp3's from it's ever poular KaZaA! network is one of the net's best sources for digital music and digital video downloads. I have been a user since 4 months ago and I have to say the service is fantastic. I like the multi-user downloading, it really speeds the transfer. to put it simple for all you who don't know that much about it, if you select a file to dowload and muliple users have it, it'll download little parts of the file at a time off several users, so you don't just download 1 huge file, just several little quick files. and that makes a huge difference if you have a regular analog modem connaction. I also enjoy the amount of files at your dispense with thier increasingly huge network of users. that means you have more files and more chances of your getting the exact song you want! and one bad thing about it it does have a noticable memory leak (when your pc's resources get drained form an application) and I have to restart m... I deleted Aimster and Napster and downloaded Kazaa- it's got itself an internal player, the ability to share and download software, images, videos, and of course music. Lots of users, lots of media. Very effective.
