A couple of weeks ago, my water heater stopped working in the middle of the night, so first thing in the morning, I was on the phone calling plumbing companies from this website. Apparently, companies who advertise 24 hours don't really mean what they advertise though, because it wasn't until well after 9am that I was able to get a phone call back, and that was by Robert who heard my urgent message on their answering machine. Luckily, he was able to be squeeze me in while traveling from one job to another, so I was able to have him go to my house that very day. When Robert first came in my house, he was uniformed, complete with those shoe mitts that surgeons wear - impressive! What was even more important was when he proceeded to give me options on what he could do for me considering the state of my water heater. He mentioned that they do guarantee all their work, including a warranty on all products they use. And he showed me a few things to watch out for in the future and gav... Read more

My wife's family was in town for a visit, when we noticed water pouring out of the garage. Argh, our water heater broke. Perfect timing as usual! So, I signed up for an offer through one of these online services that recommend local plumbers, explaining that I would need work done right away. The result, flakes! I got 1 call back, 5 hours later, and the woman said they can't come out until the next day. I searched some more on the internet and found this company in San Francisco. The plumber was over in less than an hour, and within 3 hours, we were up and running again. Absolutely top notch!

I found them through Google when I was trying to figure out if I should have my son fix my faucet or call a plumber.  Well, it turned out it's ultimately faster and cheaper if they do it. Whew! Those tv shows gave me ideas, but this is much better. Plus Robert was pretty nice too :)

We had a leak behind the wall and Friendly Plumber was the third one to arrive to assess the situation. The other two plumbers wanted to rip into the wall and barely wanted to do any investigation.   The first plumber who visited me wanted to charge me an arm and a leg even though they were late for the appointment by 2 hours! The second one was cheap, yes, but I could hardly understand what the plumber was saying, plus the incredibly high price he wrote on the estimate, five figures! I wasn't about to sign to that, and I was completely turned off by that too. Friendly Plumber was the third plumbing company who showed up. The guy was clean shaven, in uniform (which the others weren't) and just looked professional. Most importantly, it really showed that he took the time to think through where the problem could be and isolated the area where the leak was coming from. Within two hours the leak was identified. He went out to pick-up the part he said was needed to fix it and the job was... Read more

Friendly Plumber installed a new water heater at my house and did a fine job. They arrived on time, answered my phone call and emails promptly, charged what I deemed to be a fair price and did a thorough clean-up at the end of the work day.  I originally wanted to have both the water heater and toilet worked on, but they found that there was nothing majorly wrong with the toilet, just a minor tweak, so they took the toilet repair fee off the invoice and just charged me for the water heater instead. During their visit, the guys worked hard to get the heater done well, and quickly, and made sure I was satisfied before they left.  I am very happy with their service and would recommend them without any reservation.  Excellent company.

Hats off to Rob and the job he did for me. Very much on top of his game, very friendly, professional, and informative. He took the time to do a very nice job of cleaning things up after he completed the job. I feel that I paid for a job well done and have no buyer's remorse at all. There was not any "bait 'n switch", what I was quoted is what I paid!!!!

Prompt, honest, and fast. Friendly was flexible enough to come at a later time when my partner and I were running late getting home for the appointment. The plumber did a fine job replacing our old kitchen sink. It was a tough and dirty job, and I really commend his professionalism for toughing-out the long day without any grumbling. The price I paid was fair in my estimation, and it was nice that it came at $80 less than what I was originally quoted. I would definitely recommend the company to a friend.

Friendly Plumber was referred to me by Takagi, the manufacturer of the tankless water heater unit I had installed. Their plumber was prompt and professional on appointment day, cleaned-up after himself before leaving, and I know I was charged a fair price because before he arrived, I called several other plumbers listed here and received very similar prices. I have no complaints.

I discovered a leak under my sink when I moved the grocery bags that I keep under there. The people at Friendly were able to come out the same day. Where I was concerned that this was going to cost me a fortune, the plumber said that all he needed to do was turn off the icemaker in the fridge. Apparently the plastic hose that goes under the kitchen floor, that feeds the icemaker, had a hole in it. So no ice in the auto icemaker, but I can live with that since the alternative is to tear up the tile floor to replace the hose!

My mom used Friendly Plumber to install our shower's bodysprays. I actually found their website and saw the stuff and coolness me, I'm in heaven! This stuff makes me feel like I'm back at the Grand Wailea again! Imagine full blown waterage, coming at your from all sides, and one large one from the top too. Pure heaven! Anyway, my mom did her research too. She actually got estimates from about 6 plumbers, and this company gave the most professional customer service, which is really important to us. We're 2 single females in the house and we don't want complications, plus their price was reasonable. NOT CHEAP mind you, but reasonable considering the guy threw in some extras for my mom. Thanks!

I discovered this company through this site and what a GREAT find! The plumber got there when he said he would, and the price was I thought pretty fair considering this was 8:30am on a Saturday. My water heater was leaking water everywhere and since my husband was out of town, I thought I should just open my wallet and give all its contents to the first plumber who walks through my door. Any plumber, anybody! Shockingly, the plumber was courteous, professional, and even cleaned up the entire mess. He didn't have to do this, but I thought it was a nice touch. Good recommendation, fellow reviewers. Thanks for helping me avert what could have been a very ugly and expensive mess :)

My experience with Friendly's installation on my new water heater was excellent. Considering the old one went out immediately after I got back from vacation, things could have turned out drastically different. Robert arrived on time, was thorough, professional, and managed to keep me informed over the phone about the developments on the job and when I could expect him to be finished. Per our earlier agreement, he called me to go home about 1/2 an hour before completion (I work 10 minutes away from my house), and he took the time to walk me through what he did and gave me some recommendations on how to maximize the efficiency of my new water heater. I would highly recommend Robert and this company to any of my friends.

My kitchen faucet sprung a leak the other day. Literally "sprung a leak", right at my eye. I called Friendly Plumber and Robert was on time, at my door, the same day. Detail oriented, he showed me the part that caused the leak, and replaced it without a hitch in under an hour - now that's professional! I really resent paying for house expenses since I'd rather party with my extra money, to be perfectly honest. I feel I was charged a good price and was treated nicely, so I'm cool with this company.

Robert of Friendly Plumber is simply phenomenal! My restaurant's water heater went out around 9 o'clock, last Tuesday evening. I emailed Friendly in hopes they could get to me first thing in the morning. To my surprise, they called me first, beating me to calling them. By 12 o'clock that day, a commercial water heater was in place, replacing my busted one. This water heater was placed on top of a walk-in cooler and I'm positive no other plumber would have touched this job because I went through the exact same thing last time it was replaced. I called around, got several companies to come out and give me a quote, and the end result was that I was getting everything from completely relocating the water heater, to trying to bust open through the other side of my wall, which is an impossibility since I don't own that unit. This time, Robert got the job done for me and that's all I care about. He was courteous, knowledgeable, and the consummate professional. He carefully explaine... Read more

I found out about this company through a friend at work and judging from the reviews here too, I'm glad they're the first one I called to fix my leaky toilet. The plumber who came over was ultra professional and uniformed, he immediately went to diagnosing the problem, and it seems the company is alright all around. I will definitely call Friendly Plumber if I need any plumbing help.

My husband and I came back from a great holiday to a water heater that overflowed my basement. Thank goodness this happened while we were already in town or we surely would have been in trouble. Robert, the plumber who worked on our heater was as friendly and professional as can be and offered lots of advice on securing our house next time so that this will never happen to us again. While chatting, I learned that he too just got back from vacation, from the very same place no less. Small world!

My BF accidentally plugged up the toilet at my mom's house while we were housesitting.  Of course we can't afford to pay too much, so I searched the internet for cheap options.  I called Friendly Plumber because of their good reviews, and apparently, they don't work on stoppages, so the person who answered the phone referred me to another company who did charge me a good price. Even though Friendly didn't do the job for me, I respect the fact that they're professional enough to make sure I'm taken care of.

I was referred to Friendly Plumber by my neighbor when my kitchen sink, bathtub and sewer backed up.   I called and found out that they don't work on stoppages, so that's what they mean by stoppage, but they did refer me to another rooter company who had really good customer service too. I did though use Friendly Plumber to put in a new sewer for my house.  I'm a relatively new homeowner, so it was important for me to be able to trust my contractor.   I got several bids for the job and was at first convinced that I should try to find a company who offers the pipe replacement without disturbing the ground.  After talking with Robert, he informed me that the city doesn't always allow that type of plumbing, it wouldn't be up to code and would never pass inspection.  Strange, the other plumber before him said that he does it all the time in the city and he highly recommends it.  I called the Department of Building Inspection's Plumbing Department to make sure because I really hate being... Let me start by saying that this may be an unusual review - the reason being that I am commending this business for not doing business with me!! First of all, I needed my garbage disposal fixed. Robert was coming back from a huge job downtown and therefore, he was able to stop by my house just 30 minutes after I called for an appointment. Robert investigated the issue and told me that I really didn't have much of a problem at all. He showed me how to solve it on my own and told me how to avoid it in the future. In passing, I also mentioned my electrical and painting problems going on in the house. Robert then went out of his way to recommend different contractors and stores for me to visit. I insisted that I pay him for the visit. But since it was a problem that I could have solved on my own, Robert just had me pay a $40 trip charge. I don't know if this is obvious in my explanation, but this is extraordinary business practice. I am fairly sure that in some point in my li... Read more

Well, remodeling is a huge undertaking, but I can certainly recommend this company for any plumbing project. I asked for "Robert" since he seems to be highly recommended here, and I am glad I did. His customer service is really top notch! He came over the same day and assured me step-by-step on some ways to not go over my budget for one. I wanted my kitchen and guest bathroom remodeled, but he suggested to do one room at a time and boy, am I glad! I'm currently having problems with my paint contractor (they painted over electrical plugs and very expensive Cat 3 wiring - goody!) and this is holding up the entire project now. With only 1 bathroom in the house, what would have happened if I did this all at the same time? No bathroom? I am very impressed with this young man and I have no hesitation recommending him!

Friendly Plumber is great. Very professional.  The plumber showed up maybe 10 minutes early for the appointment and gave me a detailed written estimate on the spot. I wanted to have the job done immediately since my water heater was kaput, so the plumber called their office to order the heater and for more parts to additionally repair my bathroom sink faucet. A little over 30 minutes later, another truck pulled in front of my house with my new water heater. The guy at my house installed it and repaired my faucet, at exactly the same price I was quoted.   I also instructed on what I should consider in the future to bring the rest of the plumbing in my home up to date to avoid emergencies, and I am confident at his level of expertise as my faucet works really, really well now.

Luckily, I had their business card in my fridge because my neighbor recommended them for my upcoming remodel. I've been using Friendly for a couple of years now. Through the years, I had my sink worked on, my toilet reset, the pipe under my sink re-soldered (or something or rather) and a bunch more work done at my tenant's condo. What I like most about this company is the fact that I call the office, tell them the problem, and as long as I or my tenant leave our keys at our secret (shhh!) hiding spot, we go home to the job done, as if some secret little creature snuck in there in the middle of the day and fixed things and left -- without a trace. I like how I have a trustworthy company to rely on when it comes to plumbing. Let me tell you here and now that I've tried several others who "claim" to be reliable, but Friendly actually is.

Called Friendly Plumber first for a leaky kitchen faucet. They told me $40 trip charge, so no thanks. I called the next guy here because his estimate is free.. Took the afternoon off since they gave me a 3-5pm window of when the guy was going to show up. I waited, and waited, and waited. No one showed up. At 5:45, I called the plumber again and was told that the supervisor is talking to the plumber on the other line, and they put me on hold. I was on hold for over 10 minutes on my cell phone, paying for every glorious minute. The receptionist finally came on the line to tell me that he's definitely not coming that evening. They can squeeze me in the next day though. They just can't do any work that day because their schedule's full. This is what I got for being cheap. I called Friendly again the day after and this time I got their last appointment for the day. Apparently someone cancelled. Rob is great - very professional, easy to work with, and always gives a reasonable price. He gave me an estimate last Friday for the continuation of my 2002 Victorian remodel, and we're starting work on the bonus suite at my basement tomorrow. Even though a lot of time has passed under the bridge, he still remembered the small details about the project that even I have completely forgotten. He said one of the reasons he still works out in the field as opposed to "manning a desk" like most of his competitors is this very reason. Employees come and go, but as long as he owns the company, he wants to personally make sure that all customers are happy with the final product, and should he ever see me in the supermarket one day, he can look me in the eye and be able to talk to me without any hesitation. I really believe that.. He's a great guy.

I am an Office Manager for a small jewelry shop in San Francisco. When the toilet in our office started acting up, I made some calls. Friendly was the first to call me back Monday morning, and thus won our project with their professionalism. They were flexible in sending a guy to our office at lunchtime, which helped manage the transition smoothly. Plus, the toilet was replaced quickly, so we didn't skip a beat. We will absolutely use Friendly's services again and will recommend them to others.

Friendly Plumber came to my house to look at our water heater and give me an estimate. I wanted a tankless water heater and so this was ordered and we made an appt to come back the Monday after it was supposed to come in to do the work. While working on the heater he noticed another small part to the pipe that needed to be repaired. He did not charge me for that part because he didn't add it into the original estimate. (very honorable) He was very professional and polite. He also had very good communication, leaving messages on both my home and mobile phone with updates as we were waiting for the heater.

I was in a desperate rush for a plumber because my bathroom sink faucet wasn't working. I found Friendly Plumber through searching their reviews, and we first did a telephone 3-way with my dear landlord -- who is tanning in Maui as I write this, to get permission for them to work. This was really helpful in eliminating any questions on my landlord's part, because we're all at least in the same page, and I'm happy my problem was attended to by a professional. Joseph did all the work in less than 3 hours, which really helped free up the rest of my day off. I was given a 4 hour window by another plumber just to show-up, and my hot water dispenser wasn't even going to be installed the same day. Even my landlord is miraculously happy because the plumber's charge was reasonable and all the work is backed up by a warranty.

New month, new problem, with my basement ceiling leaking from the bathroom above. I had my basement in law flooded from the water heater that was faultily connected by the previous plumber, to roots from the tree in front of my house, which is apparently owned by the city - suffice it to say my run of plumbing bad luck had snagged a trifecta, and it's just February yet. I got bids and talked to two other plumbers before I turned to the internet to doublecheck on the reputation of these companies I was considering. In the process, I discovered Friendly Plumber and their good reviews, so with a reputation as good as theirs, they must be doing something right. It seemed unreal how they can please so many people. I had to try them for myself since I know that with my share of the insurance deductible, I had better be getting a job with solid results. My insurance company just won't stand for repeat visits anyhow. Jo from Friendly Plumber showed up to my house with shoe booties, which I ... Read more

Special respect and many thanks to Joseph, who stuck with our "mystery leak" until it was solved. Gas fireplaces are tricky in that it's a specialty area between plumbing and electrical. Many plumbers can not handle this type of repair. I know because I went through eight seemingly expert companies in the Yellow Pages, and no one could give me any answers. Joseph came to my home a total of 5 times - until the repair was complete. Throughout what could have been an unpleasant and frustrating experience (for me and their company), all employees I have encountered were friendly and professional.

My mother's Victorian developed a bad leak in one of the bathrooms. If there's something that can be said about Victorians is the chain reaction of problems that can happen, once something sets it off. Well, Joseph of Friendly Plumber came over a couple of nights ago, and squeezed us in at the end of his work day and fixed the leak like it was no big deal. My mom said she can tell he is definitely experienced at problem repairs. He was professional, quick and very considerate in what he charged her - not jacking up the price because she's a senior citizen. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You completely earned this good review, and all our business from now on.
