 | Seraph (9) 10/10/2004 | An adventure disguised as an easy PE credit. I joined on a whim and got hooked, even though I don't plan on ever joining the military. The main draw of ROTC for me was earning medals, ribbons, and ranks, meeting interesting people (they'll practically become your other family for four years), and going on field trips. The best part of it was spending a boot camp-esque week at a real-life fort with the rest of the battalion; the worst was simply having to wear that awful green uniform every week. If there's one bit of advice I have to give to aspiring ROTC cadets, it's this: Being in charge is overrated, so enjoy your freshman year while it lasts!
