Well...ordered a new drive belt for my sled on friday the 15th. The seller shipped it out on Monday morning. With 2-3 day claimed delivery it should have been here on Wednesday. It is Thursday and still no belt. Called USPS, they said that "oh shit, that's actually going to be delivered on Monday" WHAT THE FUCK!???? 7 days(5 business days) is not 2-3. WHAT A RIPOFF! NOW INSTEAD OF GOING ON A TRAIL RIDE IM SITTING HERE BITCHING! STAY AWAY! THEY SUCK THE SWEAT OFF THE DEAD MAN'S BALLS!

I placed an order on 1/10/10, it shipped on 1/11/10 in 3 different packages- one UPS and two USPS packages. The UPS package arrived within 4 days of placing the order and it was easily tracked online. When the package was originally shipped, received at a sort facility, left a sort facility, was out for delivery or was delivered, the tracking status was updated almost immediately. The USPS packages, however, took 10 days to receive and the status of the packages were updated every 2-4 days, so I had no idea when to expect them. Then AFTER they were delivered, all of the tracking information was added to the website. The packages got to me and I've never NOT gotten a package sent via USPS (knock on wood), so I really shouldn't complain too much, but really? 10 days vs 4 with UPS? Just a bit aggravating. If the company I ordered from had given me an option as to which mail carrier I would have preferred, despite a slightly higher shipping rate, I would have gone with UPS or FedEx... Read more

I am soooooo frustrated because of USPS right now. My boyfriend and I have this tradition where we get customized photo Christmas cards every year. I ordered some on the 14th and they were supposed to be here on the 21st. But when they were just a couple of miles away from my home they got MISPLACED?! So they ended up in Catano, Puerto Rico. How the hell does this happen? I paid $13.68 for 7 day priority shipping. And their website has no information whatsoever. It's Christmas Eve and I have no cards to give to my close ones tonight & tomorrow. Of course I can't get anybody from USPS on the phone... Never rely on their service around holidays! Good thing the card company gave me full store credit that can be used within the next year. Maybe next time I will order my Christmas cards in August. This way USPS MIGHT be able to get it right by Christmas.

My carrier is completely incompetent. I stayed home *all* day for a prescheduled package pickup after paying Priority mail to ensure pre-Christmas delivery. I don't drive and the boxes were too big to take on the bus. I didn't go as far as my back yard all day, and *no one* knocked on my door or rang the bell the entire day. Furthermore, both of the packages (2 feet high!!!) were sitting out on my front porch in full view all day long, and the carrier obviously saw them and totally ignored them. What horrible service, but it is nothing new. Just two days ago we got our neighbor's Christmas cards, and we've been getting our neighbors mail every couple weeks for YEARS. I am so disappointed. Because of USPS incompetence, my packages won't make it in time for Christmas, and I ruined a rare vacation day with my daughter; we expected regular service at 11 or noon, and waited all day at home, canceling all our plans. I am sure they could care less about my holiday or my packages based on... Read more

Information on the USPS website about mailing the flat rate boxes overseas is very misleading. Do not use their estimate of 6-10 business days. I sent a package to India on December 1st that needed to be received by the 17th. I spent $42 for a 2lb. box and it is still in customs according to their tracking on the 16th of December! According to USPS it arrived in Customs on the 12th the day it should have been delivered. But they are denying any responsibility saying they have no control over when the package is marked as "received" when it gets to India, and now they are telling me that the 6-10 business days is only to the country not the destination! When I asked the postal worker when she would have sent the box to be received by 12/16 she told me November! It is a complete scam.

I send packages all the time internationally, I advice to never used this service, you pay to a USPS $12.30 to send your package, you buy the label online , you drop it to the post office and then they have no clue after 30 days where is to package. this does not make any sense. There are some stores around the corner that charge $1.5 per pound delivered door by door internationally and you can get the package on 7 days. I didn't us it because USPS is a serious company, Now they cover themselves with those stupid insurance policies. If you have a business I think you have to stand for it. ANY BOOTH LEG COMPANY IS MUCH BETTER THAN THIS MAFIA USPS SERVICE.

The package, that cost me almost $30 for its mailing, was never received by the addressee. The waiver of signature was not checked, and the signature of the recipient should been attained at the time of delivery. They claim that the box was check and dropped the package. UPS would it cost me $8.00 with a guaranteed next day delivery; what a mistake!!! 1 star this kind of bad service cannot be rated

PLEASE do not use USPS for International shipping!..The express mail for International destinations means nothing. I had sent time sensitive materials to a bank in India and when the papers didn't reach them after 15 business days(the lady at the USPS counter said that it would reach in 6-10 business days), I ended up sending the papers thru Fedex and it reached within 3 days. I wasted my $29 in USPS Express mail not to mention the numerous call to their awful Customer Service. Please do yourselves a favor and use a more reputed company like Fedex or UPS to send packages/documents overseas.

The worst delivery service I've ever used in my whole life!!! Stupid seller used USPS to send me the goods (international shipping), and absolutely no progress have been updated on their website for the past 4 days! I don't even know if my item has left USA. And whenever I tried to call them (mind you, I am making expensive ‘International phone calls’ here), the stupid auto-voice-recognition answers it, and I never get to speak to any of real people. I've tried to email them and of course, they are saying 'email is temporality unavailable'. What am I suppose to do with this horrible service? Definite the worst!!

Through the years I have heard a lot of horror stories of mail gone bad or missing by USPS, UPS and FedEx. Lets consider the odds. What FedEx delivers in a year UPS delivers in about 3 days and USPS delivers in a DAY! $0.42 to mail a letter from Key West to Honolulu, try finding that anywhere else in this world. Did you know UPS charges a different price for residential and commercial deliveries. Meaning sending a package to ABC Co. on Main St. is less than sending it to Mrs. Jones's private residence on Main St. You will also pay more if you go through a UPS Store than going to a UPS office. Yes USPS like the other companies have their share of incompetent and rude employees. I feel the major problem of the postal service is us. We want it there fast but cheap. We don't wrap the item properly and expect them not to damage it. We miss address it and still expect it to get there. We don't add any type of tracking and expect them to find it amongst the other 5 million pieces o... Read more

Some of the people there try to sell you costly postal service. I have a bad experience in USPS office in 5th street near safe way. My postage weigh 17.5 pounds. She told me it take $ 78.5. I asked for the minimum postal cost she said its the minimum. I paid the money. After that when I checked from usps website, it show me different prices for 17.5 pounds and lowest cost is 41.5 dollars. I even don't want to give them one star ... Its better that you calculate the price of your postage before you go to office.

USPS not even worth one star. I shipped my package in Dec 4th, 2008... it was a huge package so I decided to save money and choose the cheapest one, which was estimated would come around 8-10 days. I kept on waiting, after 2 weeks, I kept waiting.. After 3 weeks, there is nothing... After 4, nothing... after 5, nothing... The point is, I make the call to USPS employee, and also received a poor customer service. The lady out there said "this is the waiting game" then laugh at me, I call back after week, they dont even want to talk to me, hang up on me. Later on, I call again, they said, "ok, you didnt buy insurrance for your package, if it is lost, you have to wait 2 months till we do our investigation" (wth was that???)... Good job USPS, u said 10 days, and now 6 weeks, I still havent had anything. I guess someone has stolen my package... Oh well, I swear, I would never use USPS again, I rather pay abit more for FedEx or UPS to get good service!

I placed an order for a PO Box online. I was issued a PO Box that had been unoccupied the longest amount of time and inevitably the worst location. I decided to upgrade to a "size 2" box for more capacity prior to getting my keys for the one I was issued initially. Instead of a clean upgrade I was charged a 3-month penalty. There was no option to relocate the initial order without this penalty. [email protected] took a week to give me no resoultion so I went to a local branch to resolve my issue. I wasted my time, along with several customers in line behind me, and 15-20 minutes of an employee who was generous to try to help me. I WILL NEVER USE USPS.com again. If time is valuable to you...just drive to your local branch and get it right the 1st time. What a complete disgrace to online services!!

My beef is how long it takes for packages to get to me "and" that the delivery persons never leave cards in my mail box to tell me I have a parcel at the post office if I missed them the first time it was brought to my door. This happened to me last Christmas, so guess what...no Christmas gifts!!! I was no happy. They are pretty incompetant and when I complained they made excuses for one another...they really are slackards. I'm sorry they don't get paid enough, I'm sorry they don't have enough staff, but how difficult is it to put a card in a mail box with the rest of the post??? I'm so fed up! Common USPS get with the program!

I have been royally fucked by USPS. To keep it quick, I ordered several vinyl records for an event. The estimated time of delivery is a 2-9 average and I put the order in 3 weeks in advance... 3 weeks later, where are my packages? Every night I have a dream that some USPS employee, somewhere in the country is keeping all my records. I ordered 75 records and I got 8. What other explanation is there? Next time I'm gonna send out frozen vomit and diarhhea and put it in a vinyl cover. Whoever is stealing my records will get a nice surprise.

20+ year USPS employee here, just chiming in. Given the idiot supervisors we work for day after day, I am suprised ANYTHING gets delivered EVER. They all walk around with their heads in the clouds just wanting to show off the new clothes they just bought. Couldn't care less about the workroom floor and what is going on around them. Just care about the lousy paperwork THEIR managers give them to do. When things DO go right, you have a rank and file member to thank.

USPS dont deserve to be the only mail carrier, I wish someone wealthy out there start a mail service company and put the competition on USPS so they can closed down. The customer service is poor, their tracking system is not up to par with other leading carriers and overall, alot of people are tired of this outdated company that doesnt satisfy their customers. They need a new management team that can restructure the company. In the mean time we will have to suffer. I will definitely not ship anything from usps and ask the shipper to ship through a different company..ups,fedex,ect. I am willing to pay more just to make a point. If everyone feels the same way, they should spread the word and do the same and make usps see that we have other options. Hopefully they can change. Oh yeah they dont even deserve a star at all.

I hate them so much. My mentally ill mail handler looks through my packages and steals my flyers with coupons. This idiot feels up my packages and has witheld some from me for a ridiculous amount of time as if that little creep thinks that he is somebody! Maybe if he did his job then he could be somebody. Besides that when I do complain or send a formal complaint they do absolutely nothing except act stupid. Yes we do pay a ridiculous amount each year for these people to be nosey and disgruntle. I would love to get every single person in the country that hates them together to contribute five dollars each in a lawsuit for their obvious MONOPOLY. How many people do you know would choose an alternative mail carrier just from their bad experience with USPS? This is not capitalism and P.O. boxes should be free as well. If there was an alternative mail carrier the USPS would be out of business but instead we get these little morons coming to our inhabited locations bringing us personal item... Read more

The USPS is the epitome of a government entity and an EXCELLENT example of one of the many reasons I'm a registered Republican. To say that I'd prefer "small" government is a vast understatement. . . The less the government is involved in our day to day lives, the better off we all are, especially when it comes to taxation. The USPS has let me down on numerous occasions. Their tracking system is extremely primitive and extremely inaccurate. UPS and FedEx can tell you almost exactly where your package is 98% of the time, while USPS can't achieve the exact opposite statistic of 2%. Another fine example is a book that my father ordered a few weeks ago from Barnes & Noble that was shipped out August 4th by Priority Mail (2-3 Day Delivery) and didn't arrive until August 13th. Unbelievable! It's horrendous that the USPS tracking data will simply indicate that the post office has been notified of the seller's intent to ship the package all the way until it has finally been delivered... Like most people today, I often order merchandise online. This is my third experience with USPS as a shipper in past one year. All three of the times the items were late by 2 to 4 days from the estimated delivery date provided by the online reseller. Even currently, I am waiting for an order from Amazon. The order was picked up by USPS on 7th July and the estimated delivery was supposed to be on 13th July. Today is 18th and the online tracking says "Shipment has left seller facility and is in transit". They are already late by 5 days and I still dont know when I will receive the shipment. And the other shipper items were always a few days before the estimated delivery dates. If you purchase anything and expecting to receive it thru USPS....Good luck! The most untimely people!

He promised us that the letter will come back to us, with the money order, but in the end it was delivered to the address it was sent to. In my humble opinion the USPS is only GREAT at delivering small, non-fragile, letters. However, when it comes to big packages--you are taking a huge risk. I have no idea why would FedEx have an agreement with the USPS. I ordered an electronic item from Circuit City last week. I kept tracking the status of the package online. FedEx picked it up, then it was passed over to the USPS to deliver the item. Now USPS lost it, and no one knows where it is. Apparently, it was "delivered" to my home. Yet, I never got it. Called USPS and they start giving me the run-around. First, "let me get delivery", then "let me find the carrier", then "the carrier delivered it". Unlike UPS or FedEx, they don't keep track where they delivered the packet, and/or where they placed it. There is NO accountability on the part of the USPS. We support this institution with our hard-earned dollars through our taxes, and the institution does not deliver with responsibility. Their only accountability is: "I am sorry." ... Read more

USPS is the worst (right behind UPS). They are the only business in this country that can take money for a service and not provide it. They take packages and envelopes, and if you do not take insurance you are out of luck if it doesn't make it there. If I buy a gallon of milk, there had better be milk in the container. Not so with USPS. If your envelope or package makes it there, lucky you. If not, oh well. I think it is time for all of us who have gotten screwed by the po to strike back. You're surprised? We're talking about a government service that relies on confiscatory income (you). They're not concerned with service - why would they be? This is what people don't understand about government entities (and unions in many respects). ANY TIME you remove profit as the driving source, the service rating plummets. Just be thankful you have alternatives such as UPS, Fed-Ex, DHL, etc... In response to the salary/morale issue, again, it's simple economics and human nature. They're being paid very well for sub-par/non-challenging services - one worker CANNOT earn more than the other as they're not being paid for performance. Therefore, why would they exert even 50% effort into their job?. This isn't difficult to understand...

Paid for insurance on my product. They lost it. They will not pay for the insurance because they say they never received it. Never received it? I handed it to you when I paid for the insurance!! Their tracking system is horrible, they cannot even tell when they have actually shipped something. Never give something of value to them, and don't buy insurance. Insurance has no value since they cannot track the packages. Also, with their recent 40% rate hike, they will soon be out of business (i hope). Nothing of value comes in the mailbox anyway.

USPS is a horrible, yet affordable way to ship. As a platinum powerseller on eBay, they are the cheapest in regular airmail shipping. I can normally understand when they lose items OUTSIDE of the USA. On the other hand, most of my lost items are Within the USA. Very poor customer service, ignorant employees, lousey managers. Online email replies are cokiecutter based, without a single hint of information. Worst postal service their is, and we are now taking our business to Fedex or UPS. I called them for like 2 hrs before they answered my call (and I know they are there b/c the line was busy during 2 of the 20something calls I made)! When a lady finally pick up, her attitude has so obviously expressed her wish for me to just "go away". Not to mention that I was only asking a brief question about when would my EMS package would be available for delivery. It's just ridiculous that the "expressed" package takes more time to get from my post office to my home than it took to get from Taiwan to the U.S.

You gotta give me a break! The USPS does a tremendous job and when you drop something off, it usually gets to its destination. We are lucky to have such a good service. Nothing is perfect. What really burns me about the USPS is the lines! I can't believe that when you have a long line, USPS closes down a window!

The USPS is a good delivery service!!! People you have to realize the volume of mail that goes through its offices. I worked in the Royal Mail (UK Mail Service.) for 3 years and I must say it was not the easiest job I've had!! As for the customer service:  I would have to say that everyone has a bad day, especially when all you have had is complaints. Put yourself in their shoes, how would you cope!! Saying that I have had nothing bad happen to me and their staff has always been polite and helpful!
