UPS service to our rural county has noticeably deteriorated. Instead of delivering to the door, as they always used to do, they now dump most packages at the post office. This might not be so bad if they bothered to include the P.O. Box number on the package! There is no home delivery of US Mail in this county. If they do not include the box number in the address, it costs the customer an additional fee (around 5 bucks) to "bail out" the UPS package at the post office. For instance, today I received a package via UPS that was dumped at the post office. Although the address on the invoice inside the package was the correct address - including both the street address and the P.O. Box # - the address on the package itself did not include the box number. It cost me $4.90 to bail it out.

UPS 3 day select took one and a half weeks to get here (it was shipped on a monday, arrived the week after on wednesday. Package arrived beat up with a hole in the box that looked like some machinery punctured it. The tracking information mysteriously stopped updating on the third day which I assume to be when the "accident" happened. The item was safe but the way the box was damaged and being several days late is bad. Customer service did not respond except to say that the line was for "claims or lost packages only".

I am pleased with their service. I always get my packages on time. And the tracking information on their website is always correct and up to date. I really don't care where a package travel before it gets to me, as long as I get it on time and in good condition. I don't know why others make such a big deal out of it. I live in a building with doormen who accept packages for us. So to me it doesn't really matter if I am home or not. I've heard that UPS can be a little difficult to deal with if you live in a house and go to work. But so far my experience with them has been cery good.

I have had nothing but trouble with UPS. Their new commercial is an absolute falsehood! I am never home when they deliver, and they always deliver at the same time of day. When I go to pick up my packages the is always a 1/2 to 1hr wait. Sometimes they tell me to come back another day. The Lawnside, NJ customer pick-up site is a joke. When I asked why they don't try again the same day like Fedex, the supervisor(?) stormed off saying "I'm not going to stand here while you bad-mouth my company. I was stunned - I just asked a question. At that point I new I would never get my package that day. That's exactly what happened. UPS is so far below USPS and Fedex when it comes to customer service. I get chest pains when I find out my package is being delivered by UPS. They are truly the absolute worst.

If you live in France (Paris) Dont have any thing shipped with UPS! I have had two experiences where the package arrives and receiving the package has been very difficult. They claim they will deliver the package at a time and the driver never comes! The call center that tries to help you solve the problem is not in France..... Therefore when you call there is nothing they can really do to help except send emails around (even though they have been nicer than the actual UPS workers Ive spoken to inside the country). I even offered to pick up the package at the package center. When I arrived to the package center the package was not there. Worst service! Complete indifference on their part as to whether you get your package on time or not.

In the past whenever I've received packages from UPS if I can't be home when they attempt to deliver (always the same time during business hours while I'm at work) I will just pick up the package from them after. They've now changed their procedure and immediately after the 3rd attempt (within 2 hours with my package) they return it to the sender. I tried desperately to stop the return but was unable to. It's all written on the small print on the back of the deliver notice (of which I only received 2). NOT happy with UPS and their changes.

I sent my son a package to his college address via UPS on 9/17/09. It was supposed to be delivered on yesterday. Reference Tracking Number 1Z3V9R430392257015 - I gave the UPS store the correct address to deliver this package to my son. I was given the receipt at the store with the tracking number. I was never given the opportunity to verify the address. On the date of scheduled delivery, I received a notice that there was no such person at the address. I found out that UPS had put in another address that was not the one I gave them. I changed the address and the went on line to track delivery. I had not received anything from UPS telling me the package could not be delivered the second time. I found out that again they did not deliver, with the reason being unable to deliver because of wrong street address. I had given them the correct street address and so had my son. I called the customer service number again and was told this time that they would not deliver to a dorm even ... Read more

For the life of me I cannot understand how UPS makes money. I have a package shipped from Kentucky that goes to Ohio, then to Buffalo NY next to the Canadian border. Then back to a point in NY and finally making its way slowly to Pensacola, Florida. Why couldn't UPS wait until they had a direct trip to Florida instead of all this monkey business. Am worried that with all of the handling something will be broken. Very displeased.

hello, my supplier unfortunately uses ups; latest experience: -scan in brussels (11/07-5.11) -out for delivery (13/07-4.56) -package missed at ups (13/07-19.24 notification; due to delivery 14/07) -14/07-18.06: new exception notification (ups realizes after 4 days that they are missing my home n°; although they have a street name and a municipality, that I am under the same name in the telephone directory and that they have my telephone n°) I have lost 2 days waiting for ups in one word:in the future, I'll refuse to deal with a supplier which uses ups

When my netbook broke, i was told by acer support to send it via a trackable courier to the repair depot. i did some research on prices, and found that UPS had the best prices. POINT 1. i then put all my shipping info into the website, which was very easy and user-friendly. POINT 2. i was then able to schedule a pick-up for the next day(which was a monday) and it was successfully picked up five minutes before the scheduled pick-up time. POINT 3. the worker was very kind and courteous. POINT 4. i had paid for 2-3 expedited service, and it got there the next day BEFORE 12 NOON!!!! POINT5, PLUS EXTRA POINT. This is the best shipping experience i have had, and i have shipped with Canada Post, Purolator, and others, but this is the best service i have ever seen. my netbook was just shipped back via FedEx, and when i will recieve i will post a review on the FedEx page. TOTAL POINTS: 6 OF 6 POINTS

Never use UPS for delivering to an apartment building! They refuse to leave the package if your name is not on the building directory even if you give them special instructions. Mine is not because I've chosen not to have a land line. I asked if the driver could call my cell phone and they can't give any special instructions until one delivery attempt has been made. Other than leaving a post it on the door for the driver there is no way to get an urgent package without having to drive to pick it up. So whats the point in delivery!?

Brown really does get it done. The postal guys give up and leave a card that you find two weeks later when you have a package but UPS always puts the fool thing in my hands.UPDATE: Hey Shawn, you forgot to insult me on this one. *waits*UPDATE: Dude probably thought he was clever, too...

I've utilized UPS' services for well over 20 years both personally and professionally (in several states, cities, etc).  In that time, I've had only ONE package damaged (which was reimbursed for over market value) and ONE package that was lost - though found within 2 days and delivered using overnight means. Top notch customer service.

I don't ship much with them but do receive stuff. Comparable to Fedex, in my experience, both equally dependable.

Only had problems with them these past two weeks.  I would've rated them a "4" before. My company moved at the beginning of the month.  They were notified of our change of address. Monday through Wednesday, there were no pickups; myself and another technician called each day to update our address, since each time they said that our new address was "not in their system" and they insisted that we didn't call them.  Thursday thorugh Friday, they still didn't come, though they assured us that they had the correct address this time.  Each time, we had to drive out of our way to the local center to drop off the packages ourselves. This Monday, still no pickup.  I called again, really irritated.  I asked if there was someone that I could speak to in order to resolve the problem, but instead he told me that, while we were going to drop off the packages at the local center anyway since it was late, we could just speak to a manager there (wrong answer!).  I let him know what happened, and said... Won't be trusting this guys for a while. I had ordered tickets to WWE Raw through Ticketmaster and had them mail them to me and they use UPS. I checked the tracking number and they said that they were delivered. I was home the day that they were allegadly delivered and nobody showed up. Luckly, Ticketmaster changed my order and had them set for window pickup.

I'd like to share a customer service issue that happened very recently. I was supposed to receive a package of winter coats by 12/17. A few days past said date I started to get curious, so I contacted the sender, who assured me of the arrival date, however he misplaced the sheet that has the tracking number. I checked the UPS website and called them, as well as the store in Wallingford CT (where it was shipped from) and no one could give me any information w/ out that tracking number. This morning however my friend called, he had found the number. So I got right on the website with UPS only to find out that they made 3 attempts at delivering the package at the wrong address, and then sent a postcard to that very same wrong address which notified me that I must contact them or the package will be returned to sender. So I got on the phone with a UPS rep who assured me that the package had been returned to sender yesterday, and Yes I would have to once again pay $50 to have it sent ... Read more

I love UPS! I despise Fedex! Have contacted everyone I do business with and have asked that they use UPS. Surprisingly the response back has been highly favorable. Apparently I am not the only person who has taken the good service of UPS for granted, and been horribly surpised by the lack of service by Fedex.

UPS sucks, period. I have rarely had any positive experiences with them. I've actually had to tell suppliers to ship by ANY other means, or else lose my business. Their Maspeth office is a nightmare, and is only open Monday through Friday 9-5; so if you work for a living and there's no one home to sign in your absence, you're basically out of luck. They won't even arrange for an evening shipment if you offer to pay extra for it. So for a small businessman like me who is frequently on the road, I either have to wait around all day and lose a day's production to sign for a stupid package, or pay someone else to do it. I would rather have packages delivered to me by ANY other carrier than UPS.

wanted guarenteed 3 day service because i was going out of town in 4.5 days. (all business days) they said it would be delivered at the end of the 4th day (NOT GOOD!!!, im leaving) then they put up on the tracking that it had some "Adverse weather" in iowa, i looked on the weather map and iowa is 45 and sunny all day, what adverse weather. i call their dam automated computer and finally after telling it a want to speak to a person i get someone and they tell me that monday Jan 2nd was a holiday (its not listed on their website as one) i tell him its not and he has no answer. I ask about the BS weather delay and a woman chuckles and says that thats just how it is. finally get though to a manager and she wont do anything because it was delayed by weather. no refunds nothin. sounds like a easy excuss for crappy service. i ask if it can be stopped and held for pickup in a city 2 hours away but they dont know when it will arrive there so they cant do that either. they wont pay to have it sh... I can't understand the continual background noise of the bitchers. Given what they do, they do it well and a lot cheaper than FEDEX. Fedex is pricey so I'm glad they offer me the choice they do. This is one of the few companies I'd say I actually appreciate these guys. Oh, by the way, I'f you insist on shipping fragile stuff, pack it right, insure it, & forget it. It will generally get there fine or they'd be out of business now, wouldn't they?

Stuff usually comes on time and they are usually fine to deal with if you have to return something. However the drivers, and package loaders are careless with the packages and will just toss the packages. We deal with UPS at work and have had items broken because of their carelessness.
