The Scene The ground-floor bar yields, by way of a spiral staircase, to a giant multilevel dining room and nightclub aglow in a spectrum of bright theatrical hues that will coax smiles out of even the most jaded New Yorkers. Despite its Times Square location, the clientele is diverse. Service can be efficient, informative and amiable, but as the tables fill, the choreography can crumble. The Food Noche's menu leans more toward traditional Latin fare than creative creations, but most dishes are skillfully prepared and carefully presented. Merluza seviche with black mint sauce is a study in clean, bright flavors. The short ribs are an expertly braised tower of beef on a foundation of sweet corn arepas; this is meat that melts.

This place rocks! The appetizers was great and the service was awesome. Miles, one of the hostesses, was so imformative. The cerviche (hope I spelled it right) is some thing to try and the roast suckling pork. I had dreams about that pig!!!

After reading the other posts I had to sign up just to write my own! I've been there a couple of times and think it's a great place. My friends love the mojitos. The sangria is the best I have EVER tasted. The appetizers and entrees are unbelievably good. Yes, it's a little overpriced, but not compared to any restaurant in the area. The atmosphere is great, I'd love to see what it's like on a Saturday night!

After reading the reviews I decided to go to Noche and make my own evaluation. We were a group of 10 and we had a wonderful time. Wonderful food, our waiter was superb. The mojitos were to die for! We had a mixed grill, seviche, marinated quail. All fabulous. We had 8 different desserts, each one spectacular. I can't wait to go back. Make your own decision. I was impressed!!!

Dining in Noche is like being transported to Havana in the 30s. The food and service were fantastic -- the ceviche was out of this world. However, after 10:30 the restaurant turns into a loud, crowded dance club.

The decor, food and service all top notch. Escorted by hostess to our second-level table via elevator - what a fun introduction! Waiter asked if we were going to the theater (we were) and service was prompt without being rushed. Great mojitos;don't miss the fabulous desserts like the Spanish churros/ fritters you dunk in chocolate and caramel sauces. Will definitely visit again!

I tried Noche because it was highly recommended by friends and colleagues. The music was great, the decor was nothing special but the food was the reason I may never return to this place. One of the worst meals I've had in NYC.

The cerviche selection was a treat. The entrees seemed average, but it is hard for me to rate food after two or three rum drinks. There is a definite party atmosphere here. Come with a large group of friends. Not appropriate for a romantic dinner for two. Several desert items (recommended by our waiter) were spectacular.

My friend ordered a veggie plate at the strong recommendation the waitress. The waitress promised she'd love it. When the waitress asked if it was "the best", my friend said she wasn't crazy about the yucca. Since the waitress had recommended it, she said she would give her something else if it wasn't to her liking. She offered to replace the yucca with plantains but insisted on taking the entire plate to do the switch. My friend, a former restaurant hostess, wasn't crazy about that idea. So, our waitress grabbed a bread plate from an empty table and scrapped off the yucca saying that she had to return the food to the kitchen to let the kitchen know a customer didn't like it. I've never in my life seen anything that tacky. Aside from one waitress need for manners 101, the drinks was creative and food pretty decent.

I went there for a "girl's night out", mind you it was six of us. I think we must of had the best time in a long time. A lot of guys, and good looking. The only thing was the bartender, a little rude. Overall nice looking crowd. Music was really good. If you dance salsa be prepared for competition.

The design of the restaurant is impressive, but you can't eat the decor. The menu is limited and the food mediocre. Tortilla and Plantain Chips served with the Guacamole and Salsa ordered for a starter were stale! For dinner I ordered the grilled Tuna. While our waiter was attentive and friendly enough, when asked if a polenta side dish could be substituted for a green vegetable (Atkins diet), I was advised that the kitchen does not "do" substitutes. The Tuna, albeit unexceptional, was tasty. I should also add that on the night I was there the weather outside was about 85 degrees and humid. Either the air-conditioning system wasn't working properly, or due to the restaurant's unique design, the existing system is just not adequate. It was so uncomfortable in fact, we didn't even stay for desert. We couldn't wait to bolt! All in all, a very disappointing dining experience.

At 10:30 pm, when they started making the music loud, I couldn't stand it and insisted we leave. Before the sonic assault, the food was excellent, and the waiters were always visible and friendly. I would go back there again if I could find a quiet time, because the food is really special. However, with all the choices in NYC, this is not the place to go if you want to sit and talk with a friend, just too noisy.

I went to Noche with a friend of mine recently and we had a super evening. The service was fun and the chef went around to the tables to say 'hello'. He was charming and the food from his kitchen was fantastic! We'll be back soon with more friends in tow for some time on the dance floor.

The restaurant is exceptional, the design is remarkable but the music is sooo loud! Great music but too loud for dinner. Nor could we see the action on the dance floor from where we were sitting. The service and food was sooo much better than expected in a place like this, especially after witnessing how inept they can be at the front desk. I don't know of any other places like this so I would try it again when in the mood.

I loved this place! It's impressive looking from the inside. There's 3 floors. and 2 bars on the first 2 floors. This place had a nice crowd, and the food was great. Our server was really friendly, and so were the hostesses. This place is a restaurant, but i heard the club opens around 11pm. WE didn't stay for the club, but I'd go there again! If you like dessert, get the churros....Delicious.

Went to Noche with a few girlfriends and have to say that the owners of Noche need to decide if they are a club or a restaurant. You CANNOT be a restaurant and then charge everyone who will NOT be eating $20 entrance for a small dance space. Its just NOT going to fly. Overall though, if you do eat, it should be fine. Food was decent (but pricey), drinks were okay. BUT, aside from the waitstaff, there was not really much for a girl to look at. Maybe dropping the 'wanna-be club' act will bring in more 'Papis' and 'Mamis' into the establishment.

I would not recommend this place to anyone. We made reservations three weeks in advance and we had to wait about 2 hrs to be seated. WE talked to the manager and he treated us like "patients in an emergency room, with no insurance". He was rude, arrogant and with "I don't care" attitude. I f you think of going to this place to eat and have fun...think twice.

I disagree with anyone who has anything bad to say about Noche. I am puertorican and have been to a lot of restuarants that claim to have good Latin food. When I ate at Noche, I was amazed at how amazing and authentic the food tasted. The place is beautiful and the service is EXCELLENT! The waiters were quite attentive and were there to answer any questions we had about the menu. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a delicious Latin meal.

I've been to Noche's several times, & the food & the service have always been wonderful. I've always been seated promptly, the staff was attentive & efficient in answering my questions & making great recommendations, & I never waited long to be served. I've always been pleased with my choices & there is a vast number of reasonably-priced items to choose from on the menu to please both meat & seafood lovers. I recommend the fried oysters, guacamole, tamale & the empanada platter, brazilian snapper, lamb chops, chilean salmon & the pork shank (especially for my fellow latinos that love garlic & enjoy the crispy skin). The desserts are also delicious. The ambiance is wonderful, but better for groups that want great food, drinks (Sangria is awesome) & hot music. It is loud & not very romantic for couples.

Went there a few months ago on a business dinner and had a great night. Service was great, our server was friendly and informative. The food was equally as great, the lamb chops were melt in your mouth and the mojitos were perfectly refreshing and tart. I'm going there again for Restaurant Week and can't wait, hope my second experience is as good as the first.

I have a stomach of steel, and this tested the limits. My waiter was very friendly, but when I had to actually eat something, I was disappointed. When I tried to complain about the food (I have never done this in any restuarant in New York), the manager would not talk to me. I don't know if this experience could have been any worse. Eat at your own risk.

i went with three friends back in november. I read about it and wanted to try. First, the place was empty and they made us wait 15 minutes for a table (very trendy)..then the food was horrible..the paella smelled so bad we sent it back. Anyone who says the food is good here obviously does not eat out in nyc..one good thing nice decor..and very nice bartenders and drinks..so skip the food

Noche should decide whether it wants to be a cool Latin nightclub or a cool sit-down restaurant. The music was too loud at one point but it gradually died down enough so that I could hear my friends' conversation as the night wore on. The food was excellently prepared but you need to save room for dessert. My friends and I tried most of the desserts and they all gave a thumbs up. Avoid the pre-theatre crowd and go after 8:00pm for a non-rushed enjoyable dining experience.

THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT FROM THE COATROOM, TO THE HOSTESS. THE SERVICE WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND ACCOMODATING. NOT TO MENTION THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT. IT WAS SERVED IN A VERY TIMELY MANNER AND THE PRICES ARE VERY REASONABLE, CONSIDERING THE PORTIONS ARE VERY LARGE.

I was expecting a lot considering everyone is raving about this joint but don't waste your time and $. The space is cool but it felt like a tourist trap. Food was ok but the waiter rushed us out of there so he could turn the table over. You can do a lot better. Don't take a date here, you'll be shouting at each other all night - it's so loud you can't even hear yourself think (I went on a busy Thurs night).

I too listened to a friend rant and rave about this place and was not at all impressed. In the future I would probably only go for drinks. The food was not that great. I had the ribs and they were tender but fatty and seemed like I was eating pot roast. The plaintains were not sweet at all. The Sangria lacked the fruit highlighted by the waiter and was absent of the anticipated alchoholic kick. On a postive note, the decor and music were the highlights. The service was not speedy at all. The waiter took forever to place our order and once we did receive our food, we only saw him maybe 3 times throughout the evening. Not once did he ask us if everything was "ok".

$11 for chips and salsa??? Get over yourself! Not only is the food way overpriced, but it's not even tasty. I had to add salt to everything just to make it bearable. The atmosphere is decent but a little too contrived. Overall, I'd say skip out on this "hot" spot.

The music was great but is that what you should remember about a restaurant? The food was ok but the service left a lot to be desired. The ceviche platter was the best dish we had. The empanada platter wasn't bad but my empanada-loving dining partner was not particularly impressed. We shared the main course--roast pork shank but barely took a few bites because it was VERY FATTY! The waiter meant well but his mannerisms were crude and his awful NY lingo left a lot to be desired. Net, net, I was disappointed--luckily I had good company.

SO the place is pretty good. The music is pretty loud and it is kinda hard to talkm, but you get past that. Can't imagine eating upstairs though since that was where the music was coming from. Service blew! OUr waiter was a complete knucklehead. He didn't know the fish of the day, was very poorly groomed, and didn't seem to know much in general. The food....started off OK, but just wasn't what I was expecting for the $. I think that the place will be totally differnt once they get the license to have dancing. I will try it again then.

You won't find anyplace better in Times Square. A great spot for pre-theater dinner or post-show drinks at the streetside bar. The ceviche sampler platter is AMAZING and the mojitos better than any I tasted in Cuba. Chefs Michael Lomonaco and Mike Ammirati use only the very freshest ingredients -- the flavors and presentation are absolutely top-notch!!! Exceptional service. Even the waitstaff is excited about the food. Just a really cool place to eat. Great bang for the buck!!!

I should have listened to the reviews if you're going to eat the ambiance that would be the only reason to go here, because the food is not worth the trip. Each course was a disappointment, food was luke warm, presentation was dismal, and the wait staff was nice but not knowledgable. Once you carved your way through the two inches of grizzle around my lamb chops they were tough but not bad, however they drowned them in a congealing sauce with limp spinach and overcooked potatoes. My friend ordered a pork entree which looked like a major section of the pig arrived on the plate, she was definitely intimidated and carving through the mess hardly seemed worthwhile. My other friend ordered the suckling pig which was grotesquely displayed in a large hump. Deserts weren't much better although the presentation was improved. Leave it for the tourists.

I went to Noche with a few friends a couple of weeks ago basically expecting an over-priced Midtown restaurant with mediocre food, and I was pleasantly surprised. The space is impressive and fun, with its mutliple levels and winding staircases. And the food was quite good! I had a great ceviche dish and a fantastic, very original potato "chowder". It was a little on the pricey side, but I would go back.

It was absolutely breathtaking. I went there for dinner with a group of friends and I can't remember when i've had a better time. The seating was prompt and the waiter was over in a jiffy to welcome us and bring us our menus. He was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and made some awesome recommendations. The food was highly refreshing. I've never had Latin food quite like that. The medley of flavors and the twist on traditional Latin dishes was inspiring. My mouth watered for days afterwards. It might have been slightly expensive but it was worth every dollar and I'd gladly do it over and over again. I highly recommend Noche to everyone!!

In town for the weekend with friends, we were searching for a fun place to eat and were not disappointed. I had made reservations at Opentable.com and we were seated promptly in a nice booth. All the staff were very friendly and without attitude. The athmosphere is upbeat and casual, and the decor is pretty hip. FOOD was excellent...loved my braised ribs and tres leche cake for dessert! I cannot remember the names of the appetizers we shared...but everything was great. Dinner for 3 came to about $150 including tip which was great for Times Square and considering the high quality. My only suggestion for improvement is to get rid of the Gypsy Kings CD and perhaps add live music.

People - This is by far one of THE best restaurants in NYC! My wife and I and some friends were there on Saturday night. The service is excellent, the food was muy delicioso!!!, the music was soothing and the host was very nice and well informed with regards to the menu. Jon Bon Jovi was there that night, but we didn't get to meet him as her was in a private area of the restaurant. The decor is very eye-catching and stylish. A nice surprise was when the curtains opened behind us and a band started playing salsa!! Thank you to the staff and host for a joyous night!

Don't waste your time reading this review. Log off your computer and immediately make reservations to Noche. Food - I have never eaten so well in my life. Be prepared to readjust your belt after this culinary extravaganza. BTW, listen to your waiter, get the "tres leches" cake for dessert. Thank me later. Service - The service was top notch and the friendly staff on the ball. They spoiled me. Too bad I can't bring them home to help clean up my place. Ambience - There is energy in the air but tempered with a soothing... ah, what do I know, I was mesmerized by the slowly pulsating colors of the domed ceiling.

We recently went here for my fiance's b-day. It was great. We ordered a bottle of champagne in advance that was waiting at our table for us. The staff was friendly and very accomodating. The sangria was to die for and it matched the wonderful food. Try the churros - they are great - but dip in the carmel - the chocolate was a little bitter. I even sent a co-worker here who is also now in love with the place. My only drawback is it is a bit loud - but if you sit up high - it is perfect. Great atmosphere

The restaurant itself is fun and aesthetically pleasing. I liked the atmosphere and the music definitely puts you in a good place. I only ordered appetizers from the bar area. The food tasted good but very very salty. So much so that my friend and I who were supposedly done drinking after our snacks, felt compelled to drink even more because we were so completely parched. Additionally, we were still hungry due to the tiny portions and had considered ordering more but didn't want to get sucked into the keep drinking/eating Noche vortex we were in.
