I started doing Yoga at Sunstone about 6 months ago. I'd never done Yoga before, but have done over 100 Sunstone classes now. It is by no means easy...but the results have been great. I've lost over 20 pounds...without any positive changes to my diet. I still eat bread, Mexican and drink, etc. I could probably have lost 40lbs if I watched what I eat. My wife likes my flatter belly. I haven't been sick or had any allergy problems in the past six months (I used to have the Austin allergies...bad...but haven't had a sniffle since starting yoga. I attribute this to the sweating, detox, and Rabbit pose. ) I'm a lot stronger and generally feel better and calmer. But here is the real test... I just turned 40 and went snow skiing. I was able to ski HARD...all day...for three consecutive days at 10,000 feet + altitude. I barely got tired or winded, and I didn't get sore at all. And my balance was in an entirely different stratosphere than it used to be. Back when I was 25, I would go skiin... Read more

Form the sunstone site: I have been practicing at Sunstone Yoga for about 4 months. When I first started, I had never done any kind of organized exercise program or any type of yoga. Luckily I found Sunstone Yoga's website and decided to try the 10 days for $10.00. As it turns out, this has been the best $10.00 I have ever spent in my life. I tried yoga because I love to scuba dive and I thought it would help me with my breathing: learning to control my breath would mean more time underwater. Everything has turned out so much better than I ever expected. First, every single instructor has just been absolutely wonderful. Second, and most unexpected, is the amount of weight I have lost without even changing my diet. When I started I weighed 198lbs. 60 classes later I weigh 173lbs. That's 25lbs - what a nice surprise. I would encourage anyone who is thinking of trying Sunstone Yoga to go ahead and do it, because you never know; it could also be your best $10.00 investment ever. I have n... Read more

I stumbled upon Sunstone Yoga just last week. Let me begin by saying the place is beautiful and so clean you could eat off the floors. The owner and instructors are so friendly and welcoming which was really important for me as a yoga newbie. I did the Fire class (hot yoga) first and it was awesome. The next day I tried the Earth class and it was completely different, but equally as awesome. They have something like 5 different classes under 1 roof. I suggest you check this place out before the word gets out and it gets too crowded.

My fellow Northwest Austinites- we finally have a fabulous yoga studio in our neighborhood. I have been waiting for this place to open for months and they finally opened their doors last week. Let me just say it was well worth the wait. This place is incredible. You walk inside and it feels like you are in a spa in Hawaii. I took the Metal class yesterday with Michael - wow. They also have really cute HardTail yoga clothes (hard to find anywhere else in town). I am totally sold on the place.

Sunstone Yoga, is the most welcoming yoga studio I have ever been to. It is awesome for the advanced yogi to the very beginner practitioner. I would highly recomment this studio to anyone intrerested in yoga.

My body physically craves yoga: the sweat, the release and the wonderful feeling of accomplishment at the end of class. I have come to a place now where my mind and spirit crave it as well; to bring in and share positive energy with my classmates, to be calm, focused, and to give to others what I learn in class.
