This place is a little piece of awesome in the EAV, and it’s completely worthy of your food snob love. Also, Holy Taco has got to have one of my favorite patio’s in Atlanta. It’s huge. It’s rarely completely full. It offers great people-watching. I like to try something new every time that I go because every time that I do, I end up LOVING IT. For instance, the last time we went we vowed to try something other than just guac and chips to start us off, and we fell madly in love with their arepas. All of the tacos that I’ve tried have rocked my tastebuds. Try being a little adventurous in this place. Skirt steak quesadilla with a side of the quinoa salad? Sounds odd, but is quite the combination. Also, do your self a favor and top it off with a margarita. They make one of Atlanta’s finest.

When I first visited this place in April I was ill prepared for the circus freak servers that approached my table. What a difference a few months make. We dined at thw Holy Taco for a benefit in support of an abused dog. Our server, Craig, was marvelous. In addition to Craig, the 3 other servers that worked that evening worked as a team and answered the numerous questions we had about the menu. On the way out, we stopped by the bar and outside of the unattentive bartender, the other bartender, Jason was simply dazzling. If you are seeking authentic Latin food and great service from an attractive staff, you'll find it at the Holy Taco, Atlanta's hidden culinary gem!

I have been to Holy Taco several times and I have loved this place. In the past, the food was awesome - completely unlike anything I could find in the city. It was a unique dining experience for which I enjoyed making the trip. However, tonight my experience and the food changed everything. I'm not sure if the chef has changed or if there is a new management team in business, but I had an awful experience. The hostess seated 2 couples infront of us (we were only a party of 2), the guacamole was terribly over spiced, I was served something that I did not order, and I was charged for an organic margarita even though I was served a house one. Our waitress was anything but professional and she made us feel awkward when we questioned our order. We will try Holy Taco again because of our positive experiences in the past, however it will only be one more try. This restaurant (sadly) is not as good as it once was.

The food was overpriced and mediocre at best. In addition, I am still suffering from stomach issues after eating dinner there last night. The drinks are very overpriced for the small size and amount of alcohol in them. The chips were over cooked and you had to pay for the salsa to come along with them. The guacamole was average, but a bit bland except for an excessive onion flavor to it. The taco I got was tiny and the meat and sauce was extremely bland so that the primary flavor coming through was the cheese. The side of black beans were so salty that I could only eat half of them. For about $20 I got aq weak margarita, a tiny taco and a side of almost inedible black beans. It was the worst $20 I have spent on food in a very long time. I would suggest avoiding this place.

Love the food. My faves were: shrimp torta, chile rellenos, shrimp salad and organic margaritas

The food at Holy Taco is alright, but them charging for each thimblefull of salsa you are given is ridiculous. Ya'll, tomatoes ain't that expensive! I wore my best bulletproof vest to East Atlanta and this is how you treat me?

I love Holy Taco. EAV has 3 Mexican restaurants and this is by far my favorite. The Pork Tortas are the best, but everything I've had there is awesome. The salsa is a little pricey but it is fresh. Go with the Veggie Taco instead of ordering the rice and bean separately, it's cheaper and better!

We just moved to the area and were looking for a place with good mojitos and margaritas. Although the drinks were small, they were very strong and tasty! The homemade chips were very yummy! This will definitely be a spot we visit frequently.

EAV scores again, with this ultra-cool Mexican joint, with one great patio. And the prices are too good. What a good change from all the frou-frou cantina's around the city. We started with two terrific organic Margarita's, and some wonderful Spanish Style Gazpacho. And another one of those Margarita's. We both had to get a Grilled Shrimp Torta, which was out of this world. And Grilled Corn on The Cob w/White Mexican Cheese. This place is worth a drive from Buckhead anytime, and the this time of year, dining alfresco is pure heaven. And the service, with-out Buckhead attitude, was right on.

In Short The sleekly designed digs look like Chipotle on a padded budget--uncharacteristic for the 'hood but cool all the same. Giant glass garage doors open up to a modern and spacious outdoor patio framed by light boxes. The menu is what you'd expect from an established chef, peppering taco-stand staples with a little pizzazz. Skip the uber-fried and surprisingly bland chips-and-salsa pairing, and opt for one of their tortas, a Mexican sandwich stuffed and served on a near-perfect roll from Alon's Bakery. Tacos are standard fare at standard price, but the roasted corn on the cobb, draped in white Mexican cheese, shines. Although it's not EVA's go-to genre--burgers and beer--this cantina has comfortable classic writen all over it.

Organic, free range, antibiotic free food has never been this delicious or this inexpensive. Local producers help to keep only the freshest of food coming out plate after plate. With a lively patio and cool causal interior, Holy Taco is truly heaven sent. Not JUST a Mexican restaurant, this Latin themed casual restaurant is a convenient spot to drop into after work with friends and enjoy an evening of great food and drinks. The chicharrones de pollo are an amazing starter coupled with the tortas (beef brisket) for dinner. Try the homemade organic margarita--you won't be disappointed. There is no question that this will be one of my regular meeting stops with friends.

Never had a bad meal at this place. The staff is always awesome. Great patio, great Chili Rellinos, Great shrimp Tortas! It's a little off the beaten path, but well worth the trip!

This place is the place to go if you want a taco or torta the way they are meant to be made. Be sure to have the grilled corn too.

A great place to go hang out on the patio, have some good drinks and great food. The cheese dip and chips are addictive. Never had anything like them anywhere! The Carne Asada Torta is wonderful and the bread is homeade, crunchy and delicious! The food is not greasy, overcooked or overspiced like some mexican restaurants. Everything tastes freshly made. Love the music! Great mix of everything. We had a neighborhood party there and they handle larges crowds beautifully! I can't say enough good things about it! A great addition to the already wonderful East Atlanta Village.

The Scene In burgeoning east Atlanta village, the space that once housed Iris is reborn as a welcoming bistro with blood orange walls, cushioned booths and a bar lounge with a flat-screen TV. Converted garage doors open up to a spacious, breezy patio, where groups like to mingle. Service is generally pleasant, though wait times vary depending on the night. The Food Described as eclectic American cuisine, the menu has hints of Asian flair with such ingredients as ahi tuna and baby bok choy. Starters are a must, particularly the perfectly crisp stack of fried green tomatoes and tender braised short ribs with a horseradish mustard dip. Classic standards such as burgers come with the requisite fries and the stuffed shrimp po'boy is dressed with a spicy remoulade. Wrapped in nori seaweed, the miso-sesame seared salmon is delicately seasoned and artistically balanced atop a bed of coconut jasmine rice.

Went with a group of 6. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the service was outstanding! The short ribs were wonderful. Also would recommend the calamari and crab cakes as appetizers.

This is the perfect spot for a great restaurant. Too bad Crave misses by a mile. Our ribs were very fatty, the tuna was overcooked to the point of nearly being tuna jerky, and there's not enough range in wine prices. Overall, we felt we vastly overpaid for a very poor-quality meal. We will never, ever go back - it's just not worth it. Shoot, the Earl has better food for better prices!

I was there last night and enjoyed it very much. We had the braised short ribs with bok choy as a starter...very delicious and tender. We also had the shrimp po' boy and pork bbq sandwich...very good and will go back to try their other items. It was also martini night so we got to try 3 different martinis for $10..a good way to try different drinks at a good price....Nice patio and attentive staff.

It's an interesting concept of comfort food/the things you crave but don't try anything on the menu that is ambitious. My husband and I were disappointed and wished we had stuck with the safer bets. His ribs were almost too fatty to eat and as a result he did not enjoy it. Over all its overpriced for what you get.

Had an excellent dinner here on a Saturday night... great food, service and atmosphere. We really enoyed the range of items too - from casual sandwiches to creative, tasy fish and steak dishes. Certainly a 'something for everyone' type of place and could work whether you want a low-key meal or a special night out. All in all, certainly recommended and yet another reason to eat in East Atlanta.

ate at Crave with friends for dinner. My date got the tuna which is typically seared and raw in the middle. But it wasn't the freshest cut. Everybody was disappointed with their meal, except me. I had the pork and it was ok - nothing special. Mine was the closest to yummy" (as posted by 3 people below this - how odd!) but not "yummy" enuff. If Crave spent more time on their dishes then on this site or maybe simplified their menu to a notch above beer-n-burgers i'd probably go back. That may be more their cooks speed and in their grocery budget. They do have a nice patio, though - which may make them successful. If youre looking for a nice spot just to grab a drink and an appetizer - I would recommend it. Not for dinner, though.

East Atlanta finally has a patio! This is a wonderful new restaurant with great food. I love the ambiance of the inside seating too. The braised beef is really, really yummy and I would also recommend the crab cakes and risotto. Can't wait to go back!

Wow. The food is wonderful and the atmosphere is very inviting. Everything I had was yummy. I particularly loved the crab cakes and the sangria special. The prices are very reasonable as well. The only suggestion Id have would be to add more lighting to the patio.

What a great addition to EAV (The patio is huge). Try the Crab Cakes! The Bread Pudding is out of this world. The only reccomendtion that I have is to add more lighting to the patio - but other than that, I love the space and the food. I had the White Sangria the other night that was delicious -- not sure if this is on the menu or a patio special -- but very yummy.
