I was overwhelmed by my experience at Nubiance. I got a virgin perm and I must say that my stylist Chantelle is an awesome stylist. She works majic with her hands! I was amazed at how straight she got my hair. I just love it and I recommend this salon and spa to everyone. The atmosphere is great also and I love the design!

I have been to several salons in Atlanta and by far, Nubiance is the most professional. I have been going to Nita for a while now and she is dedicated to making my hair look GREAT! I always leave with healthy-looking and feeling hair and am always complimented. She is quick and a pleasure to work with!

My hair is thick and curly (3c texture) and needs an appropriate amount of heat in order to make it straight--without burning the cuticle. Not only did Nita do a great job on my hair, she told me ways to keep it healthy and there was absolutely no wait. She's friendly, professional and uses good products. Definitely get the steam treatment if you're a nappy head like me. The steam makes your hair soft and with little to no tangles. Also, my hair is layered and Nita knew how to curl each layer so that the style can hold its own. I definitely recommend her and will continue to return. She also will have you in and out within 90 minutes. Yes...she's just that good!

Tiffany worked a miracle on my hair. After weeks of sweating out an already dry and brittle head of hair, Tiffany was able to make my hair feel soft and silky. She identified the treatments I needed and did what was necessary to ressurect my ends. She gave me a style that I could maintain and refresh on my own. I love it, my daughter loves to watch it flow and my husband loves to run his fingers through it. Nubiance has gained my trust, gratitude and future business.

I stumbled upon Nubiance while driving through my new neighborhood. With thick, coarse hair I usually leave salons in tears because stylists struggle to give me a sleek, modern look. That all changed when I went to Nubiance and had an appointment with Mikki! Not only does my hair look good, the blow out, cut and styling fits my age and lifestyle. Mikki is an amazing professional and person. I've been her client for two years and will definitely miss her and the magic she does on my hair when I leave Atlanta in a few months.

I started coming to Nubiance about six months ago and had another stylist who left and I was blessed to be referred to Nita. Nita is the most professional and knowledgable stylist that I've had since being in Atlanta. She doesn't keep you waiting and really knows her stuff when it comes to healthy hair...she has "growing fingers." The location is conveniently located in Buckhead and the environment is so pleasant. I really look forward to going to the salon because everyone is friendly and makes you feel like family. Lastly, the services are affordable compared to some other salons in the city.

I am very picky when it comes to my hair because in the past I have had some bad experiences. Nubiance is a place you go and relax after a long day. Nita is awesome and is truly good at what she do..Rita is very knowledgeable about hair. She takes time with her clings to make sure she understand her clients needs. She is stuck with me.

My first contact with the salon was with the owner . She was very professional, informative and answered all of my questions. When I arrived the very next day, she paired me with CHANTELLE, and I must say I was very comfortable from our first meeting. She is very knowledgable, very professional. I was in love with my hair when she was done and still am after 2 weeks and I have an appointment with her tomorrow. I got a weave and it was the most natural looking weave I have ever had, and I have had plenty. My date played with it, ran his fingers thru it , pulled it and he did not know it was a weave...WOW!!!!! Chantelle really should be styiling for the STARS becauuse I have seen a few that could use her help, but I am glad that she is there for me at NUBIANCE. No one else will ever touch my hair. PS- Anyone reading this MUST understand that I have not ever given a review for anyone, BUT THIS IS HOW HAPPY I am with the service I received and my with HAIR. Thank You, Chantelle

I called the morning of New Year's Eve hoping they wouold be able to take me as a walk in on such short notice. I departed my hotel room and arrived at the salon approximatley an half hour later. I was greeted with a smile and was immediately taken care of by Crystal. She was very thorough and engaging. I am usually very uncomfortable when my normal stylist from Alabama doesn't maintain my hair. I placed my hair in her hands and she made me look fabulous! I felt like I had spent a fortune but on the contrary, they were quite affordable. I will be using this salon again in the very near future. Possibly tomorrow if I can be seen...lol!!! I can't wait for my second experience and I know it will be as delightful as the first! I would recommend this salon/spa to any and all my friends or people who I don't know! They can make you look like you are Hollywood within a couple of hours! Go and check them out!!!

Chantelle's been doing my hair for years now, and I would'nt have it any other way. Everytime I go to another stylist when her shedule's tight, I pay dearly. She understands customer service, and listens well to her clients. Most impressive is... The Finshed Product, to go from the Biggest Nappiest head of hair, to Run Way ready hair in one visit,,,FABULOUS!!!! Be prepared for the COMPLIMENTS,,,because they WILL come when you sit in CHANTELLE'S chair. If you don't believe me,,,give her a try...

Chantelle is a very skilled stylist, and does a great job with weaves, and pretty much any length of hair. She's great at making any weave look natural. Another important factor to me is how accomodating a stylist is, and she is always willing to squeeze me in around my hectic work schedule. Chantelle is also good about making sure she's quick and efficient since no one likes to spend all day in a salon. Nubiance salon is beautiful, even the dryers are high tech. Stop by and ask for Chantelle, she hasn't let me down yet...

I have a lot of hair and Tiffany (stylist) was not afraid to use the needed amount of a product on my hair. At most other salons, they have a set amount of product they can use regardless of the amount of hair someone has but here that didn't seem to matter. My hair feels silky and smooth and really does look like a hair weave. Be prepared to spend a good amount of money though. But trust me, the job done definitely far surpasses the price.

What makes Nubiance unique and wonderful is the atmosphere and temperament of, my stylist, the owner. She is such a hip and fun person to be around. She's always very patient with me and understands my needs as a business professional / funky fly forty. She gets it. I've been longing to find a stylist who understands where I am and 'in style' suggestions and hair care.

I went to Nubiance based on the recent reviews on citysearch. I let them choose a stylist for me and on the phone either they didn't mention who it would be or I forgot, but I didn't mind or bother to call back. I assumed there probably weren't many stylists working at the time I wanted to go for my appointment and decided to just go with it. When I got there, Vicki the owner was in the front and quickly introduced me to Miki. I had a GREAT experience with Mikki. She brought me in the small room the other reviewer who had mentioned her in their review and I actually appreciated it because it's nice not to have to sit in the middle of the salon with everyone staring at you getting the relaxer applied looking a mess. Mikki did a great consultation, finding out what products I used, my lifestyle, how much effort I wanted to put into my hair, if I had any hair problems, etc. It was one of the best consultations I've ever had at a black hair salon. She evaluated my answers and deci... Read more

They always say that first impressions are lasting. I had the best first impression at the Nubiance Salon yesterday. I was greeted warmly by several of the staff members and offered food and beverages. I have never experienced this in any other salon. Although my first time, I felt as though I've been a customer for many years. I must also mention that all staff members are extremely talented and kind. I will definitely be back. See you soon Nita.... :)

I have went to this salon once before in the past and was very pleased, but i am dedicated to my previous stylist so i wasnt ready to change.Iwas really having a bad hair day and my regular stylist could not see me so i called VIcki at Nubianc& asked if she could see me. Not only did she do a GREAT job but i was in and out in a reasonabletime UNLIKE the other salon that have me there all night. I was really pleased with the professionalism and courtesy VIcki showed me. I can'twait to go back next week. I think i have found a new home at this salon.

I love this salon and believe me i have visited many. The staff here GETS IT. They know how to make a client feel special. From the coffee / tea services they provide early in the mornings to the happy hour on Fridays. And I love the updated conversations on current events or even infromation on shopping beauty secrets etc. you name it they know and will share.. This is so much more than just a salon. The staff here are not only the cream of the crop when it comes to hair care and styling, they give you the total package. You walk away with the latest up to date hair style and you have fabulous time while being serviced. The decor of the salon is very tasteful which is also a plus for me. I always walk away with fly hair and a positive experience, Thank You Nubiance Staff for all you do you absolutely cater to us, the customer. you GET IT.

I've been on an active 2 year search to find an upscale salon in Atlanta that focuses on healthy hair with innovative products and stylists. Thankfully I recently found what I have been looking for at Nubiance Salon and Spa. Nita is my stylist and has done an excellent job on my hair. She recently gave me the best hair cut that I have ever had. My hair has never looked so healthy. I love Nubiance and highly recommend the salon.

I was hesitant to visit Nubiance after reading the negative reviews on Citysearch, but saw the reviews AFTER I made my initial appointment. All I can say is that I am glad that I did not cancel my appointment after reading the negative reviews. I am new to town and was quickly approaching the point where I needed to get my hair rebraided or take the braids out and do something else. I decided to take the braids out and take the plunge to go natural. I was initially going to have my hair blow dried and flat ironed, but decided to try something new and funky instead. When I arrived, my appointment was for a blow dry straightening process and when I informed the owner that I wanted to get twists, it was not a problem. She immediately switched me to a new stylist and did not indicate that it was an inconvenience or a problem. I was then greeted by my stylist, Pat, who was so nice and pleasant. I showed her a picture of a natural two strand twist style and she immediately put me at... Read more

I have been a client of Vicki's (the owner) for over 5 years. My hair is always fabulous and when I travel to & "fro" people always want to know where do I get my hair done. The owner is a classy woman who takes pride in her salon & in her service. She is very professional, and she knows how to be very customer service oriented. On Fridays, she always has a catered event for her clients, which in this recession you never hear of anyone doing these days. I love the way she colors my hair and she has to be the best colorist around this town! I am very happy that I am a client at NuBiance Salon and I recommend anybody to go there.

I live near Nubiance and decided to give it a try because my beautician moved out of town. I made my appointment before reading the reviews left by previous customers. After I read the reviews on this site, I wanted to cancel my appointment, but I really needed my hair relaxed. I decided to try the salon anyway. I figured if my hair is ruined, I could just go natural like I have been planning to do. When I showed up for my appointment, I was immediately greeted by an employee (although she was sitting on the couch on her cell phone instead of standing behind the counter). The stylist, Mikki, started on my hair right away. She took me into a little room that should have been used for storage or coats, but was set up with three stylist stations. This was my first time meeting Mikki. She made an effort to talk to me while she was applying the perm. When I told her that it was beginning to burn, she quickly took me to the shampoo bowl. After neutralizing the perm, she did a real... Read more

I really could write a book about all of the negatives to do with this salon. If you are having any thoughts of going to this salon, you really need to save yourself and just not go!!!! You will thank me!!! First, I should've known I was in trouble when I went in-person to make my appointment and had to wait 40 minutes to do so. The owner was checking someone out and had issues w/the computer, etc. The owner never acknowledged me standing there...she could've said something like "sorry for the wait, etc.." but she said nothing. I should've walked out at that time. Second, I explained that I want someone that is top notch with sew-in weaves and if they didn't have anyone that could do that to just let me know. She said they had one girl that could do that and she was really good...huh, what a joke!!! She did a horrible job/my husband and kids even commented on my hair..which never has happened in the 5+ years I've been getting weaves. I told her I wanted human hair so that I cou... Read more

For the first time ever, I had to write a BAD review about a salon----Nubiance Salon and its owner Vickie Pouncie. I went to Nubiance yesterday and got a relaxer and "trim". Vicki cut alllllll of my hair off. My hair was not down my back, but i was growing it out and I told her that numerous times before she started my hair. I told her I just wanted my hair trimmed and shaped into a cute style so I can keep growing my hair out. Well!!!! My hair is so short I cried all the way home last night. I was so upset. I never cried about my hair. I should have caused a scene and refused to pay for my services, but I didnt! So today I called Vickie (the owner) and told her i was very unhappy with my hair and that i didnt realize how short she cut it until i got home. She was very rude and unapologetic, repeatedly saying...there's nothing i can do now. Unbelievable! So unprofessional!!! PLEASE DONT GO TO THIS SALON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay...Where do I begin? I went to Nubiance Salon back in the beginning of Feb. and it was the most detrimental hair experience I have ever had. I will never ever go back there again and for the life of me would never recommend anyone to this shop. For starters I went to the salon to get highlights and color, my hair came out nothing like the picture I provided to the stylist (Vicki). She took it upon herself to do what she wanted instead of what I asked for. Then to add insult to injury I was in the salon from 8:30am til 7:15pm and might I add not because she was trying to fix my hair, but because she overbooked. She left chemicals on my hair for long periods at a time (which when I went to my regular dominican salon I was informed my highlights were overprocessed and that my hair would eventually break off if not treated). And last but not least I was charged $145. This is why I find it hard to support my black owned hair salons at times. Anyone who has every been to a dominican s... Read more

I went to Nubiance to get a relaxer. Mikki put the Affirm relaxer in my hair. I noticed while I sat with the relaxer in my hair that my scalp wasn?t burning (normally I am rushing my stylist through the working in process). As Mikki went through my hair with the beveled irons, I noticed that she was going through my hair fairly quickly so I looked up to see what she was doing. She told me she was just going through it to straighten it. At the moment, I didn?t think anything of this. Less than an hour later, I went to a friend?s house and I rubbed my fingers through my hair. I was amazed at how thick my roots were since I had just gotten a perm. I now knew why Mikki had to go through my hair and straighten it and I knew why my hair wasn?t burning. Mikki had to have used an old perm on my hair, which was why it did not take or burn. I contacted Mikki to asked her why she did not tell me before I left that the perm did not take. She stated that at the time she hadn't reali... Read more

I luv this place. I actually go to Tina and she is awesome. She handles all types of textures and she has worked wonders for me. I would say try it for yourself. FYI - I've never been charged to use my credit card because if that was the case, there is a Publix next door, a Bank of America and Wachovia ATM in the parking lot. Whoever paid to use their card is dumb with all of the options around and just goes to show that they are some lying haters.

My first time to this salon was quite an experience as I too was shampooed in cold water and left alone without a simple acknowledgment until the owner "remembered" that I was in the back. I expected maybe an apology but it doesn't seem that an apology is within her character. It was almost as if she felt I was "obligated" to give her my hard earned money; however, when I spend my hard earned money I would like to be treated with respect and not another dollar into ones pocket. I felt the service was lazy and sluggish; however, the salon is gorgeous. Being a food connoisseur, I would compare this experience to my horrible visit to Emerils Restaurant in Buckhead - gorgeous on the inside but wait til you get your entree. Yuck. I'm a bit shocked to know that the owner has been in business for as long as she has. I've had the opportunity of meeting some former clients through networking on Black Voices only to find that they have experienced the same treatment and have thus found a more pr... Read more

My experience at this salon was the most discussing experience I have ever had. The minute I walked in. There was no one at the desk to greet me. When I did get greeted the lady act like she had a bad day. I signed in and waited. I felt really uncomfortable, I was not use to this type of environment where I didn't feel at ease. The workers just stared at me like i had something on my face. I was taken to the back room where I felt so closed in like I was in a closet. It was so dirty and stuff was everywhere. It was too small for what they was trying to make it out of but I didn't say a word I continue to get hair done. I got a perm. When my stylist got me to the bowl the water was so cold and it felt like it was stiff and stuck in my scalp. Even though she say she got it all out. My hair still felt like it was in there. I have never got my perm rinsed out with cold water. I was sooooo mad. You would think the way the salon look that wouldn't happen especially with the prices they charg... Read more

I have been a client of the owner of Nubiance Salon and Spa for over 17 yrs. I have only received top notch quality service. Vicki has a way of making all of her clients feel special, either by way of her winning personality, her wonderful smile, and above all her confidence and expertise as a master stylist will leave you at ease once you get in her chair. Vicki knows what will work best for you. Vicki always sends all of her clients out with a smile after service has been rendered. She goes above and beyond for each one of her clients...again I have been going to this awesome person as well as my daughter for over 17 yrs. She is always willing to accomodate me if needed. The friendly and professional service that Nubiance provides will always have you looking forward to your next visit.
