I'm a die-hard classical music fan. I have a habit of listening to Pachelbel's Canon over and over and over and over.....and I find myself daydreaming and finding ideas for novels (but never writing them down).

Listening to classical music helps me to relax as well as open my creative genius, so to speak. I can imagine a story or an image along with certain pieces (it helps if any of the pieces were featured on Fantasia).

I make and listen to different "mixes" of songs (all Christian, cuz Truth enlightens and comfort) to relax, depending on why I'm needing to relax. If I'm wired, I take my "Happy Trails Mix" and hit the trails running to release the energy. If I'm depressed and need to pout, I cozy up to my "Pity Party Mix," to get it out of my system and regain perspective. Today, I was starting to stress about my sick cat so I made a "Balm" mix to remind me of God's care and provision.

I enjoy listening to music. My taste are quite eclectic. I like rock, mostly classic rock, and the blues, country, and oldies, it just depends on what mood I'm in or what inspired me to listen. The right sounds at the right time can be very relaxing.

Now don't laugh at this, but classical music really soothes to the soul. I'm not talking about R&B; stuff, I'm talking about the old stuff-- Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaichovsky. Granted, public schools would laugh my ass off at this, but this is what really relaxes me.

Relaxing music has actually been proven beneficial in studies. It can lower blood pressure, and slow the heart and breath rate.

When I'm at the house I'd perfer to do something else. But when I'm at a car it's great for some reason.

Sitting listening to music with a cozy fire in the fireplace and the snow blowing outside is VERY relaxing. I can also enjoy a good movie in the same setting and be just as relaxed.

Soft music can relax you. Loud music doesn't. I've never seen anyone relax with Megadeth or Iron Maiden played on the radio. Never.

Depends on the music. Throwing on some Tool or Rage against the Machine won't help anything, but some light Jazz can put me in a chill mood.

Good, unless you're listening to dance music, then you'd most likely be dancing, not relaxing.

This is one of my favorite things to do to relax as I love music. As others have said it depends it depends on the music. A good jazz cd would be my music of choice to relax too. Some of my favorites that soothe me are Yardbird Suite by Charlie Parker, Kind of Blue by Miles Davis, and Blue Train by John Coltrane.

A marvelous way to relax, as long as the music is from your own house and not from the idiots next door or the boomcar thudding by.

The best way to relax. If I am feeling stressed or tense I get my discman, put my headphones, pop the cd in and chill out.

I find listening to music really helps me to relax. I can listen to almost any kind of music, except for rap, hip-hop, and heavy metal.
