Dr. Afar is a great oral surgeon. I had a badly decayed tooth that needed to be extracted. Dr. Afar did the surgery, and it was nothing like I was worried about. I barely remember anything from the surgery, and the slight discomfort I had for a few days afterwards was nothing unexpected. He also did the surgery a few months later to replace the root of the extracted tooth with a dental implant and then added a crown on top of it a couple of months later. I am very satisfied with everything Dr. Afar has done for me, I couldn't possibly find a better dentist.

Dr. Afar is the best dentist I've ever had. I first went to his office to get a consultation for dental implants because I lost s tooth playing tennis. He was so nice and professional at the same time, and he was very upfront about my treatment options and what each would cost. And he made recommendations without considering his own profit there. I liked him so much that I made his office my primary provider.

I have been a patient of Wilshire Dental Care for the past five years and i cant say enough nice things about the practice as a whole, and dr. afar and dr. poneh in particular.....i've had a very long history of problematic teeth my whole life, and been to tons of bad doctors to know an amazing doctor when i see one!! dr. afar and dr. poneh have completely revamped my entire mouth with a full mouth reconstruction....(several implants, crowns, veneers, whitening, and several fillings.) i am so happy with my smile, and i would recommend wilshire dental care to all my friends and family- and in fact, have, and they are all consistently happy and thank me for the referral all the time.

First, let me tell you I am NOT a satisfied customer. I had a pleasant cleaning on my first visit. I used my Aetna insurance. I was told I had several cavities. Which I was not surprised! Anyway, I had called my Aetna before hand and knew what I was covered for, and cavities were 100% covered - for the silver ones (amalgam) and if they DID NOT use the silver fillings then the enamel filling were 100% covered!! WELL, this is where the problem started. I asked the dentist, DR. SHEILA MORIM and she stated that they absolutely do not use the silver fillings; they use the enamel colored (composite resin) fillings as the silver is old and outdated (and ?unsafe? as she put it). After my cleaning when I went to check out and make an apt. for the cavities I was told by the receptionist that they DO offer the silver fillings but they would have to order the material, so they would call me within TWO weeks. One month went by and I called to check-up. They would not see me unless I got the ename... Read more
