Erika is an exceptional artist who knows how to tune in to her clients on a spiritual and 'soul' level. Her work is impeccable. My piece on my arm is simply stunning. ~Char

I have been tattooed at Art & Soul many times and have always been treated with respect. I am particuarly happy with my art and the fact that only high end ink is used by the artists there, hence, my tattoos that I received from them 12 years ago still look incredible. I highly recommend Art and Soul tattoo company.

I had a few tats done before hand at the same tattoo shop and wanted to try something else. I didn't even get to have my tattoo at Art & Soul so to be honest i can't tell whether their good or not. But they handled me very poor right from the start. When i called to make an appointment, they didn't even take my name! When i arrived at the shop. There were 4-6 dudes just rushing through magazines. I think they were working there but they looked at me like WTF do you want here. That guy Steve sitting on a chair seemed busy asking me what i want. I told him that i had an appoinment with him. This guy didn't even really pay attention to my ideas of my tattoo. All he answered was, "yeah well i don't really do thinks like that, i'm not into to this kind of style" Dam he could have pointed someout that can, but he was like "yeah, well i can try. During our conversation he kept walking around going through his papers and taking phone calls. Sorry but all i have to say is that customer se... Read more

I just got my 1st. "tat" from Art & Soul. I am a 44 year old male and have wanted at tattoo for over 20 years. I saw at tattoo on someone and it really looked good. When I asked them where they got it from they recomended A & S. I'm not artistic but, had an idea of what I wanted for my tattoo. The tattoo atrist Scott drew me a black and white sketch on paper...I said "cool go for it"! I also, wanted it colored with green, red & yellow. I didn't even look at it untill it was done... It has six colors! Awsome!!! I will get another one form! David, Santa Monica, CA.

If your ever in Los Angeles, and your searching for a place where they deliver best service, and great tattoos, come to Art & Soul. Their are many talented artists who have a lot to bring to the table, especially Danny Chan. I had recently lost my grandfather who was very dear to me, and I wanted a tattoo artist who can capture the essence of what I wanted. Just by the outline alone, I was floored and astound by what I saw, it was waay more than what i expected. I literally cried when i came home and looked at it. He is truly an amazing artist. He's warm, funny, and easy to get along with, right off the bat! I owe a lot to him because he changed my life, literally, with his artisitc vision he brings. I now carry a piece of artwork from him for the rest of my life, and I am very proud of that.

Art and Soul Tattoo is the best Tattoo shop around!! I've gotten 3 tats from Joby, including a full chest piece, and his work is amazing!! I get so many compliments on his work and will only go back to Joby for my future tats! Although I've seen Danny, Erika, and some of their other artists at work too and would probably let them do work on me too if for some reason Joby wasn't available. These artists really know how to lay down some serious ink!!!! You're seriously selling yourself short if you don't check these guys out for your next tat!!

I went to Art & Soul for a tattoo of the Meejay Dr. Gonzo illustration by Ralph Steadman (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas). Danny Chan did it and it's the best tattoo I've got, and probably will ever get. It's perfect down to the last detail, and exactly like the actual illustration. Even the signature (R.ST.) is exact. The price was insanely good and Danny kept me more than entertained. Go here. Trust me. I've dealt with alot of shops and artists. This one wins. GO HERE. Matter of fact, if you check out Danny's online portfolio at the shop's website, you can find my arm in there.

Art and Soul Tattoo Co. is one of the finest shops in the country. I wish I lived closer so I could easily get more work done by them. Erika and crew are top notch artists and some of the most professional people I have come in contact with. I was absolutely blown away by their willingness to work with my schedule as the artist who did my work was no longer with them and I was in town from Michigan for only a couple of days. I highly recomend them and will be scheduling an appt. for some new ink the next time I am in L.A.

I spent years waiting to find the right artist to do my first tattoo, and when I saw Erika's work, it was easy to know my search was over. She took the idea in my head and made it a reality. Not that I was asking for the most complicated image or anything, but I had a specific style and feel that i was going for. From our consultation, she captured all the nuances of what i was looking for... and did it freehand! yes, that took trust, but what can i say... she nailed it! I get compliments all the time on my ink. she and her crew are awesome! I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

I discovered Art & Soul about 10 years ago by chance as I was driving down Robertson Blvd. one day. When I went in for a consult, it was Erika Stanley who greeted me. She was very easy going and professional in discussing my tattoo design with me. I liked the fact that she was a true artist and appreciated the art of tattooing vs. some of these other artists in town who are just looking to make a quick buck. You get what you pay for and I'm happy to say that Erika gave me my first tattoo and I've been loyal to her ever since. Her shop is clean, the staff is extremely cool, and they do exceptional work. Other than Erika, the only other artist I've trusted and had the honor to tattoo me is Manu, the best tribal tattoo artist in the world, who I met as a guest artist at Art & Soul. I feel fortunate to have found this awesome group of artists, and highly recommend them to everyone I know.

Okay first of all I?m a very picky person when it comes to tattoos, because you never know what is out there. Besides it?s on your body for LIFE! So when my grand father past away about 2 years ago December, I wanted to get a tattoo that would remind me of him and honor him. So I came up with an idea that I wanted but I really couldn't describe it very well, considering my art talent is less than a special person on a short bus. Any ways, a couple of good friends are pretty heavenly inked up so I asked them for ideas on great artists and great tattoo artists. they both recommended Art & Soul, so one day I met them at Art & soul tattoo and watch Erica perform magic on there backs. As I was there I wanted to watch and observe each artist and watch what type of safety and health practices they use. I was very impressed on how clean and health cautious they were. So then I was talking to Erica and my design and she referred me to her Boy friend Adam Kliss. He came in about an hour after I... Read more

this is the only place i would trust for tattoos. Its clean and orderly. they are strict about not tattooing minors and that tells me that they have integrity that will carry into their attention to hygene. Adam Kilss has done most of my work. People stop me on the street to ask who on earth did this amazing work. adam uses beautiful colors and is just all around a gifted artist. i show him a photo and the day of my appt he is ready with exactly what i want, yet willing to change if im hesitant, yet I never have had to change a thing. he listens to me and i can tell he pays attention to "who i am" because he comes up with art i love. danny chan gave me my first tattoo and he was great. the owner, erika stanley is great and i look forward to having some of her sought-after work, too. the other artists are highly talented and friendly.

When I was about to get my first tattoo about 10 years ago, I was fortunate enough to visit Art & Soul first. Even though the shop hadn't officially opened for business at that time (they were still moving in) they took the time to speak with me and answer all of my questions. I left feeling really charged up, and although I went to about four or five other shops afterward (including some of LA's most famous shops) I returned to Art & Soul and had Erika Stanley design a custom tattoo for me. I have never gone anywhere else since, nor will I. The shop is not only clean and the people extremely cool, but the care and diligence they pour into their work is remarkable. Erika has since done a custom piece for my back as well as a full sleeve. She and her mates at the shop are true professionals and will work tirelessly to provide clients with the best work achievable. This is shop where serious work gets done and a customer's dreams for the ultimate tattoo become a reality. When I'm... Read more

Let me save you all a lot of time in researching tattoo shops. I received my first tattoo last night by Edwin Marin at Art and Soul. This place is clean, cool environment and I felt completely as ease through the whole process ( almost fell asleep) I had a design picked out and what I wanted it to say in OLD ENGLISH. It was extremely important to me that it turned out the way I pictured it. Edwin must be a mind reader because he took it about 4 steps higher and made it into a masterpiece on my arm. His professionalism, courtesy, experience and talent is above anything I expected. If your looking for a tattoo that is above your expectations go see Edwin. You won't be sorry. I will be back to see Edwin again. His work is amazing.

I have been to Art & Soul for a few years now. I go to Erika who does a wonderful job & I love all my work by her, I hope to continue to go back for more & more. The rest of the crew are really great & all of the artists are very good at other mediums of art, which was one big reason why I went there.

Well, first off, my "STORY"... I was like many tat lovers and somewhat impulsively got my first tattoo at a "hole in the wall" shop, recommended by a friend. The long and short of it, i loved the color for the first two days and then the pretty aqua blue heart with my daughter's name on it, became this funky bluegraygreen color, in a matter of days... just horrified me. I called up the "hole in the wall" shop and they just kept saying it would get better once it heeled... i knew better and i called up some new tat places that i had found on the net. Art and Soul came to my tat RESCUE!!! I first spoke to Adam Kilss on the phone and he put me at such ease, he gave me tips on the proper way to care for the old tat. Adam said, no problem, he was confident that it could be fixed and to come down if and when ready and or to check out their website. I went on the website and just adored this one black and gray tattoo portrait of someone's dad that this really cool artist, Erika Stanle... Read more

I have 2 tattoos both done here. Danny did both of my tattoos and I get tons of compliments on both of them. Best Tattoo Shop in town!!! The first tattoo Ive had done ever was at Studio City Tattoo which they ended up doing my tattoo uneven and danny was able to fix it so it looks like an awesome tattoo and you can't even tell I had a messed up tattoo underneath it! Great clean place. Nice people. Fun experience!

Well Erika Stanley has been a great friend throught the years and even though she is very hard to get time booked from her now days (hint:She's very good at what she does or she wouldn't be booked for 2 years solid at a time! Not Bad for a Chick!) But I've notciced that the other artists there are very talented as well. I would like to book some time with the very talented Adam Kliss (you have to check out his art work on canvas etc). i got money burning in my pocket man.. so h i t me up! I've been receiving tattoo's by Art & Soul for over 10 years now. Each and every one have been amazing pieces of art, created by various artist while working at Art & Soul Tattoo. The level of experiences is very high in cleanliness, care and in the art that is being preformed on you, no matter who it is whether it is. Whether by the owner (Erika Stanley) or one of the many talented members of her team. One of my more recent tattoo's was preformed by a then first timer (Adam Kliss), in fact it was his 25th tattoo (performed in 2006) done with the utmost professionalism and care. Not one scare or flaw and I have not even had to go back for touch-ups due to loss of ink, missed spots, ect.... The atmosphere is calm and inviting, friendly and easy going. This shop is a MUST go to for a great tattoo experience.

I have been a customer of Art & Soul Tattoos Since early 2001. This is the ONLY Shop in Los Angeles County that I will get ink from! It is a very clean shop by anyone's Standards. The work ethic at this shop is very high, NO ONE LEAVES WITHOUT A FIRST RATE TATTOO EXPERIENCE! I have watched Adam from His Very first tattoo through today and have never heard anything negative. I know of NO ONE, NO ONE who has left his work area with a bad tattoo. He is the ULTIMATE PROFESSIONAL. I have seen him change his gloves if he as much as thought he had comprimised sterility. He is one great tattooist his attention to detail is tremendous, he is always overprepared. I don't know how jessicalovestom's could have had a bad experience with Adam Kliss. She probably is a cheapskate looking for a bargain basement price and did not receive the lowest price and is trying to spoil the reputation of this Uber-Talented, Highly Professional artist. Am I biased because it's the only tattoo shop I've been to in LA? Perhaps. But I'm also a genius and I know a lot about a lot, so you're going to have to trust me. All you have to do is check out their website and look at the artists' portfolios to see that these guys know what they're doing. The shop is small and kind of unassuming, but I'd rather my tattooists be competent and talented than worried too much about creating a stunning visceral shop experience. Here's the thing that always strikes me when I go in there: they're onalmost OCD about keeping sterile and up to code, and they're vigilant about not tattooing anyone under 18. THAT'S the kind of thing I want to see from someone who's going to be sticking needles in me. You can trust that your experience will be safe. I've generally enjoyed the banter around the shop while I'm there - Erika is a blast and Danny is a riot. They all seem to know how to get on without interrupting their work or losing focus. Art and Soul Tattoos is the best tattoo studio I know in LA. All the talented artists who works there a simply great humble people with super cool attitude. I have been stocked by Adam Kilss' tattoos I have seen on his Myspace and I decided to get my calf done by him. After 11 hours in 2 sessions, the custom artwork and the final result is AMAZING and healed perfectly so fast! Rich in details and contrasts, my tattoo catches attention anywhere I go and everybody loves it, THANK YOU ADAM! One of my friends also had his dad portrait done by Adam, I have no words to tell how realistic and clean is the result. Far away, Adam Kilss is one of the best portrait tattoo artists I have never seen, he is awesome. I highly recommend the Art and Soul studio to everyone looking for hight quality and unique tats!

There's a reason the shop is named Art & Soul. It's the art that comes first at this shop. Unlike most "tattoo studios" this is an art studio, they just happen to use skin as a canvas. Every artist at A&S is an artist first, and it shows. Beautiful custom work is the name of the game. I have come to trust the artists at A&S so much that when it came time for my sleeve, I just told Erika, "I want a Koi sleeve. You're the artist, I'm just a canvas. YOU tell ME what it should look like." That was 7 years ago. It still looks as beautiful as the day it was finished.

I got tattooed by Scott last year and I couldn't be happier with it! Healed perfect. Lines are clean and the color turned out solid. He was a really nice guy too. This was my 4th tattoo and I have to say its my BEST! Not only because of the work but because I had an AWESOME experience! Friendly, funny as f*ck, and clean environment. I'm not from california but when I come back, I'll definitely be getting my tattoo at Art and Soul. Thanks guys!

I got my tattoo done by Joby, who was awesome. My tattoo is some of the best work I've seen, and I'm definitely going back as soon as I can for another one!!! I recommend everyone go to Art and Soul to get their next tattoo!

About 7 years ago I saw the work of Erika Stanley on a friend of mine. A beautiful irish back piece that took my breath away. It was after seeing that piece that I understood the concept of the skin being a canvas - but you must choose your artists wisely. Art & Soul Tattoo is a wise choice and it is an added bonus that the staff is simply rad.

I've been in some shops that are overwrought with male egos, but Erika Stanley's Art and Soul is the exception to the norm. My first tattoo was from Erika and it was worth the wait. She is a veteran of the craft and just an amazing person. Adam Kilss did my second piece from the shop and he was a dream. Such an amazing artist and unlike other shops that I'd been the guys at this place are soo respectful and wonderful. Everybody puts you at ease. I just feel soo lucky that i got steered towards this shop. Now that I've found it I won't go anywhere else.

I just returned from my 6th trip to Art & Soul and am so happy I chose to go there. The shop is great, very clean and no attitude. I have gotten 3 large pieces and each one has exceeded my expectations. Scott did an incredible Abraham Lincoln portrait and Adam did an amazing Johnny Cash portrait and custom Tiki that people stop me on the street to look at. I have been getting tattooed for over 25 years by some of the biggest names in the business and would put these guys on par or better than all of them. There is a difference between a tattooer and a tattoo artist. This shop has tattoo artists, the choice is yours.

CUSTOM, CUSTOM, CUSTOM. This place is like a candy shop. Whatever your heart desires can be put on you and that's no exaggeration. Adam Kilss did my most recent piece which was a portrait of Hunter S. Thompson. Find him on myspace and you'll see for yourself. My HST portrait isn't finished, but this guy's craftsmanship is ridiculous. He's slowly becoming one of the best portrait artist's in Los Angeles. I have work from several other artists at the shop. Everyone is super talented and you can't go wrong. The thing to remember with this shop is that their specialty is custom work. I have some outrageous pieces I've gotten from them and each of them is beyond professional. They're hardcore artists that love and excel at what they do. This is the only spot in LA for me. Art and Soul is the best kept secret in Los Angeles. Go in for a consult and see for yourself.

I love Art & Soul! I was one of their first customers when they opened in 1996, and I still get tattooed there! I've been tattooed by two of their full time artists (Stan Corona from back in the day and Adam Kilss who is uber-talented) and I've also been tattooed by 5 of their guest artists! All of those tattoos rock (I have others I'm not too happy with from other aritsts). I don't know what's up with the review from "jessicalovestom" she should have gone in to show Adam her tattoo. Of course another tattoo shop will say, "yeah, bro, they worked it too hard..." or whatever to get her in the chair. Anything could have happened AFTER she left the shop. Actually, I've seen A LOT of Adam's tattoos, and they all heal amazingly! At least the one's I've seen on my friends that I've referred to him! I know sometimes people who are inexperienced at healing a tattoo think it's the artist's fault, when they don't take care of a healing tattoo properly. Usually a scar on a tattoo is from clothi... i went in for a pretty decent sized job and sat with adam who was a pretty cool dude. but his lack of experience definitely came through PERMANENTLY on my shoulder. not only was my job interrupted on multiple occasions to talk with other potential clients, but i have some pretty bad scar tissue on my piece which i can't even touch up yet, due to his heavy hand. i hate writing a review like this because he was a really cool guy and i was happy with the immediate results, but after a few months i still cant get over the scar tissue in many places which i want to get touched up but can't yet until it heals properly. maybe in a few more years his hand will lighten up. I don't remember how I found them originally but Ericka and Jobi at Art & Soul Tattoo are fantastic tattoo artists. For my latest tattoo I tried to get inked by Ericka (the owner) but she is so much in demand that she is booked for many months (sometimes a year) in advance. She is known for her large Traditional & Modern Japanese and photo-realistic tattoos. Jobi is a great alternative if you can't wait for many months but still want a 1st class tattoo by an experienced artist. He is hysterical too and just the right amount of sarcastic and wierd. I think he prefers larger pieces but didn't whine too much about doing my very small, yet unusual, tattoo with only an hour notice. Sometimes it is hard to get a hold of them as they are quite popular and busy. I love that they have a website with a fairly large portfolio for each artist so you know what their work is like without having to even drive over there. Clean and comfortable too. I am not sure if they pierce or not...
