This has always been one of my favorite internet marketing techniques. I'll start by saying that I primarily use Google Adwords because they offer so many ways to manage where your traffic is coming from and their interface has quite a bit more in the way of tools than the other search engines. I like the fact that I can get precision control of exactly where my traffic is coming from right down to the exact keyword phrase or content network URL. While this certainly isn't the cheapest way to go when it comes to online marketing, it is probably the fastest way to start getting highly targeted traffic with a small budget. What I like best about it is the ability to fine tune my campaign so I can run my ads only in the places where I am seeing success and the conversion metrics make sense. There is a considerable learning curve and it does take some time to get it right but once you find something that works, it can be the key to turning out big order volume in a hurry. I've worked with PPC for over 10 years now and each year it seems to get more complex yet more profitable as long as you are willing to grow and change with the times learning new techniques and strategies along the way. When used properly, PPC marketing is a great way to get some sales in the door!
