My original review of kamylienne was quite a while back. It was complimentary and I gave her five stars.
I just noticed that somehow (magically) that had been changed to one star.
I wonder who else you-know-who has pulled this trick with...

Update: If anyone doubts this...tell me I would have gotten 5 Helpfuls by giving kamy one star.

This girl could write an entire novel in just one weblist. Actually-she a real sweetheart who writes interesting reviews.

That good natured, empathetic, generous-hearted, animal lover shtick doesn't fool me for a second.  I'll bet she has all of Arnold Schwartzeneger's movies in a box somewhere in her basement.

I don't cross paths with her all that often, because she has much better taste than I do (as she said, there's nothing about alcohol, sports, or reality TV in her reviews), but I always enjoy her sparkling, well-written opinions, which always show a personal touch. I think most fellow reviewers would agree with me in calling her one of the nicest people around.

A thumbs up for kamylienne; she has a true heart for animals. That's a very good quality to have.

Lots of people have noted by now the ability to see what others have rated anonymously, for better or worse. It's interesting to see the patterns, but overall, does it really change that much? At least for mine, it's between people who're probably using fake accounts and people I haven't talked to (and a small handful of those who I expected to rate me lower based on differences in ideals), so it's not like there's any love lost there. Don't let this kind of stuff bother you too much. Whether or not anyone considers me a "good" reviewer or not would be based on what you're looking for.

I write a lot of long reviews because I try to analyze things on multiple levels, but that's not helpful for someone who doesn't want to read all that. Can't be "helpful" if no one reads it.

If you don't like my reviews because I don't write about sports, certain styles of music, reality TV, alcohol, or whatever, that's fine, I can't write about stuff I don't know about.

If you don't like my reviews because I'm not liberal/conservative enough, or because I write favorably about teaching evolution in class and I am neither strongly for nor against topics such as the death penalty, gun control or abortion, that's fine, too: I don't believe in being partisan for the sake of "picking a side".

For the few that don't like me because I'm "Asian-American", you probably haven't lasted long enough on the site for me to reply to your PMs, and for those who have you know exactly where I stand on such things. And, if any of you guys are still out there, feel free to PM me again: I could use the entertainment.

And for those who don't like the reviews because of my "attitude", that's fine, too: I generally try to be nice, but if you say something so stupid that I can't help myself, you probably had it coming.

ADDENDUM: And, for those who may be unhappy that I have not written a review or even given a "drive-by" rating about them: If you really knew me, you'd know I wouldn't play that game. There have only ever been three times that I have left a messageless rating, and that was because I had accidentally hit a rating on something I didn't care about; all other messageless ratings occurred after the switchover to the new RIA somehow, and I haven't figured out what they were for, so it should come to no surprise to anyone that I haven't rated anyone a "5" (or anything else, for that matter) without a message. I'm not a fan of gratuitous back-slapping; those who correspond with me know exactly where they stand with me.

Bright, articulate, and...perhaps most important of all...level-headed reviewer. Has the ability to cut through b.s. without it getting nasty or personal.

Nice reviewer, friendly, courteous.. writes extremely well, and is very, very good at breaking down movies, examining tv shows, and discussing other aspects of popular culture and everyday life, as well as making insightful remarks on a wide range of other types of commentary.

I find Kamylienne to be a gentle person that I could see just about everyone getting along with. She is smart, funny and honest. Enjoy her posts and look forward to them. EDIT: I disagree with souljunkie, which doesn't happen often, but I think kamylienne often posts on political and religious themes and stands up for what she believes in. The only difference is that she is gentle and doesn't seem to be a clash with anyone, because of how good she is with words.

Ive been spending some lunch time looking over ratings form different reviewers so as to be able to fairly rate them. I spent some time looking at her stuff earlier. She seems like a good egg. Definitely on the liberal side which says we dont think too much alike. Unfortunately, I could not stay interested enough to find any dynamic opinions on issues that really matter to me. She seems like one who is out to strictly entertain and just mix in rather than gamble on anything that might be really thought provoking. Thats cool but not really what gives me a charge about an opinion community. If I just did not catch enough, Ill catch up and update later on.

Kamy is a long-time veteran of RIA and an old-school poster who still finds time to write thoughtful reviews on music, movies, books and other consumer goods, which was the onus of RIA way back when, before the weblist feature was introduced. In-depth reviews on consumer goods have ironically (considering consumer feedback was the initial purpose of RIA) become progressively rarer on RIA, but Kamy continues to provide them in both quality and quantity, and is one of the best at doing so. What you have to like most about her though, is her personality. Kamy is slyly cynical without being pessimistic, polite and respectful but not shy of an argument (which she will usually win) and utterly hilarious without being crude or obvious. The witty and outspoken chick from Maryland has always been one of my favorite people on RIA.

An incredible gal with real knowledge and skillful writing abilities. I suppose what I love most about kamy is her sly sense of humor and her spunky attitude. One of RIA's best.

Her reviews are very genuine and original. A very down to earth woman who always seems to enjoy herself on RIA. She seems to be passionate, and I love that. I look forward to reading more of her reviews in the future. I also think it is very sweet that she always takes the time to communicate when I send her a message. RIA wouldn't be the same without her. Something I would like to update is that when I first started reading her reviews I didn't really notice the humor in them. As time goes on it is very obvious that Kamy has a really good sense of humor, which is always a wonderful PLUS when reading any comment.
