El Dumperino. Rude vendors and attendants...drunken fans who don't really watch all that much baseball. Feels like a frat party on steroids. Very expensive and completely overrated. Hard to see the game from many seats. Almost pissed myself the bathroom lines were so long. Disappointed.

A fine old shrine, well deserving in its place in the games history. So what if its a little creaky and old and smelly. It is one of the few remaining links to the era when the game was virtually the only thing in American sporting life.

I've attended baseball games at about 14 Major League stadiums, including Yankee Stadium and Fenway Park. Wrigley Field, however, is the greatest baseball stadium, hands down.

An exceptional design that makes the park as enjoyable in the modern era as when it was opened. It, along with Kauffman Stadium, are the most enjoyable places to regularly watch a baseball game. And the history that attends Wrigley make it worth a visit every time. You won't be disappointed! (but get your concessions outside the ballpark at one of the local hot dog stands)

id say the only good seats in wrigley field are the history and the first 5 rows. fan appeal is a 1 they have nothing for kids just a whole lotta chipping paint. seats are super jacked for the garbage seating. not to mention cubs scalp there own tickets. and its so horrible you go in the bathroom i dont know whether im going to get robbed or raped but one thing i know is im going to have to see a buncha dudes junk cause they put urinals back to back on the walls horrible definetly not for kids at all or definetly not to leave them unattended in a bathroom. i would give props to wrigley for its history but the fact is they just dont care about the upkeep of the stadium fenway park is the only one i can say that although its run down still makes up for it by having many monuments to show there history. you can talk about your history or you can show it everywhere. and then despite the 17 layers of chipping paint on the stadium and massive horrible seating and super overpriced seats which obviously dont go in to proper upkeep of the stadium. it may be able to stand the test of time but its never gonna keep up with the times. oh and thank you cubs for having a great fan catch the ball and lose your chance at the series thank you Steve Bartman. you can take your history and ill trade it for a xbox 360 off RF to beat cubs fans in MLB 2k7... and also thank you wrigley field for the ivey on the wall how many times will that cause a dropped ball too many and its mainly for your team

  • Tickets to Cubs game: $200
  • MILWAUKEE BREWERS hat: $20
  • NEW Walkman: $10
  • F-----g up my favorites team's arch enemy's chances of winning the World Series: Priceless
and thats why youll note on my  22 stadium road trip why wrigley made bottom of the list cause there fans make the experience garbage. it was a fun place to see one time and thats about all ill need to have enjoyed it. i enjoyed its history couldnt enjoy the game nor could i enjoy the atmosphere of the stadium. to many drunk people yelling out cubs are number 1 despite not being number 1. and being the 3rd most rundown stadium i visited it had the most expensive prices for almost horrible seating.  i was almost stuck watching most of the game on the tv put on poles all over the stands cause the angle of there seating is so bad you cant see the field half the time or at least you can only see half the field
best thing i could have wished for was going there hoping for a loss and its a cubs fan that blew it for them totally priceless.

As a Cub fan, this place is detestable...because, as long as the Cubs continue to play in Wrigley and the Tribune maintains ownership, they will never win. In order to win, the team needs to be sold OR they need to get out of a park that the rest of the world thinks is the greatest place to watch baseball AND serves as the teams biggest marketing tool ALLOWING the team to play pathetically and lose, yet continue to set attendance records.

I give Wrigley a 3 based on the atmosphere only.

The good points:
The closeness of the seats to the field.
The view of the game.( if you get a box seat.)
Days when the wind is blowing out make for high scoring games.

The bad points:
No parking.
Can't get a ticket these days.
High prices.
Terrible food.
Disgusting bathrooms. They're dark and there is always water on the floor. Half of the stall doors don't close. This is coming from a female. I hear it's much worse in the guys bathrooms.
No elevators. If you have a ticket in the upper deck be prepared to walk up 7 ramps.
The weather. It can be cold there in June depending on which way the wind is blowing.
The fans at nightgames are like animals.

A horrible experience. Horrible sightlines (our expensive seats were blocked by a pole. We had to watch from a TV attached to it!), subpar food, dirtier than Fenway (urine smells, disgusting bathrooms), parking is a nightmare (never drive), and a team that seldom competes. Let's not get started on the fans. To keep a long story short, don't bring little kids as this more about the 'Wrigley atmosphere' where everyone gets wasted, and screams out vulgarities (including a lot of racist remarks). Will never go again

Ten, twenty, thirty years ago, Wrigley was nothing special. Fast forward to today, and it's still nothing special because nothing has changed. Calling this place a "shrine" is the polite way to say the place is a dump but you go there just to say you were there. It's a fake social scene in a decaying building.

Wrigley Field is the absolute best ballpark in the majors. How can you rate US Cellular Field (or whatever its name may be at this moment in time), PNC Park, or any other new stadiums merely emulating the old parks above one of the few surviving classic parks? Is it because your fat ass can't fit in Wrigley's seats? Is it because you can't get any reception on your laptop because there is no wi-fi hot spot? Is it because the concession stands do not serve designer coffees? It is a shame that many discount Wrigley, Fenway, and Yankee Stadium merely because they are old. These stadiums are shrines to baseball, and deserve to be rated above other 'functional' stadium.

Why Wrigley is not in the top 3 ballparks on this list is a mystery to me. With the exceptions of Yankee Stadium and Fenway, no other parks in baseball come close to matching the ambience which Wrigley brings to the experience of being at the ball park. From the fabled Ivy to the singing of "Take me out to the ballgame" during the 7th inning stretch, Wrigley is a temple for baseball worshippers and casual fans alike, and is an absolute must for anyone who loves the game of baseball.

A great place to watch a game. Do you people go to a bseball park to go to the bathroom, or to watch baseball? Wrigley was built in 19124, when few people had cars. Would you prefer a circular field surrounded by nothing more than miles upon miles of parking lots? with fancy bathrooms but astroturf? maybe seat cushions? Well, baseball isn't any of that. It's about watching the game. new fields are trying to IMITATE fields like wrigley with partial brick walls.

I like almost all of the new stadiums, and those teams needed them, but the Cubs don't need a new stadium. I love the old, small Wrigley Field with its brick and ivy in the outfield, and the people watching the game across the street from where they live.

Anybody who has been to a game at Wrigley and was not awed by the experience simply cannot refer to themselves a baseball fan. Yes its old, and the walkways, bathrooms and concrete reflect that. But it is still THE perfect place to see a baseball game!

The genuine article - this is how baseball was meant to be. The clattering of the L, the derisive throwing back of home runs from the other team, the fact that every seat in this small stadium is good. OK, the bathrooms aren't modern and the seats are older. It's a 95 year old stadium! If you want terrific food afterwards, just wander down Clark Street into one of the best neighborhoods in Chicago. Wrigley is the perfect ballpark in the perfect location.

The Cathedral of Major League Baseball park is anything but a dump. This stadium is the most unique in baseball, and represents one of the classic stadiums ever and it's still in use! Sure it's old, but when are people going to understand that old is good. Historic stadiums (without all those skyboxes) really make watching a game more real. If you just want to go swimming or eat at a restaurant during a baseball game at the stadium, then just don't come. At Wrigley you come to watch the game and nothing else. There are no other distractions to nurture the fans that for some reason don't want to be there, yet they are. Wrigley is a pure baseball palace and I'm a Cardinals fan!

Wrigley is a classic example of a field where change is not needed. People (er, Sox fans on this board) can whine about the beer, food, etc. ---but the best comment is about how there is nothing to do. It is called a baseball game, you go there to watch it, you go home. If you want the full experience, enjoy what Lakeview/Wrigleyville has to offer. A hell of a lot more than Comiskey----they put in so many diversions from the game and then claim that it is something to do. I thought you went to a baseball game to WATCH BASEBALL.

Wrigley field is the true shrine of baseball. The fans are very knowledgable the food is great and the atmosphere is the best in the big leagues. A very accesable ballpark with the red line running right next door. The parking is non existant but comeon its in a downtown city location what do you folks expect?? It is far and away the most beautiful ballpark in the country with the ivy on the walls and the all brick construction. No annoying music in between innings only the purest of organ music is to be heard. The old scoreboard is classic and the absence of any video replay screen is openly accepted by this nostalgic type of guy. Yes the bathrooms suck I openly admit that who likes pissing in a trough>?? But when I think about it that is the one and only thing I dislike about Wrigley. Any person that doesnt like Wrigley isnt a real fan, they are real ignorant morons.

Okay I'm a Sox fan, but I've got to admit there is something nice about Wrigley. All the brick, ivy, and other old timey whatsis is nice for a nostalgia kick anyway. The bathrooms are inadequate, but not that terrible, and complaining about parking is moronic. Ever hear of the El? Park in some neighborhood off the Red or even the Blue and get up there; it's so simple even a Cubs fan could do it. Which brings me to what I really hate about Wrigley: Cubs fans are as a group the most obnoxious people on earth; unless you have a deep longing for frat parties you won't enjoy that part of the atmosphere. Unless you have the good luck to get seated next to some family of tourists in town for the weekend be prepared to hate everyone around you. If you don't there is something wrong with you. My advice is to go to Wrigley once just to say you've done it, but after that stick to the Sox. The people are nicer (albeit still drunk), the bathrooms are better, and come on you don't go to the movies for the theater do you?

I'll admit, I'm a SOX fan. Even though I don't like the Chicago Flubs, I can write an honest review. Wrigley sucks!! Don't even try to make it to the game on time unless you hop a ride on a helicopter. It has to be the most inaccessible park in all of sports. Parking is a complete joke, $30 bucks to be blocked in some dark alley, yeah that's a great deal. Then if you make it inside, that terrible odor of piss hits you like a fastball off Sammy So-So's head. Small seats, terrible food, Old-Style, 106 year old ushers, and obstructed views make this a terrible experience. Sure it's nostalgic, but so is taking a dump in an outhouse, doesn't mean we should keep doing it that way. Turn Wrigley and Fenway into museums and get the Cubs into the new millenium. Once they stop playing at Wrigley, we'll see how many true Cub fans there really are!

C.L.A.S.S.I.C.!!! I've seen so many great games and players there it's ridiculous...Ernie Banks, Ron Santo, Ryno, The Hawk, Maddux, Willie Mays, Bob Gibson, Sammy, Johnny Bench, the list goes on forever! It's funny how all these people can only talk about the pisser, because fans who know their baseball and Wrigley do three things: 1) Just like before a long road trip, go to the john before entry 2) Sneak in some good beer because Old Style SUCKS! 3) DON'T MISS THE GAME, and the bathrooms at a game are for women who'd rather be shopping. Anyone who was there last year for Kerry Wood's improbable game-tying homer in Game 7 of the NLCS knows this is the home of the best fans in baseball...and the epitome of CLASSIC ballyards! Plus, our dedication is true to the core...what other fans get in fights with the other team and throw garbage on the field when there's terrible umps? None, because you're all a bunch of ninnies brainwashed by your corporate theme parks and teletubby-looking goonball mascots! Only Fenway and Yankee Stadium come close! And parking is tight because it's in the city, nimrods...just like anything else in the city, money talks and BS walks.

I had great seats for Mark Prior's debut at the Friendly Confines, and had an awesome time. It's a charming ballpark, and the old school feel is nice. But the food is horrible, the seats and concourses are cramped and uncomfortable, the beer is super-overpriced, and the uberloyal drunk Cubs fans are too blinded by their love of the team to be into the game.

The restrooms are too small. The men's restrooms have troughs and are filthy. There are not enough ladies' restrooms. The park is too small and too crowded. The media has hyped the park up as a shrine, so everyone comes and convinces themselves they are having a good time. The seats are uncomfortable and too small. Parking and traffic in the area is atrocious. The food is bad and the beer is watered down and too expensive. The lines are too long. The place is filled with drunk fans who know nothing about baseball and spend their time talking on cell phones. There are too many yuppies and frat boys who don't know the difference between a curveball and a slider and think Sammy Sosa is the all-time home run king. These are the same people who threatened harm to Steve Bartman, the fan who interfered with the ball in Game 6 of the NLCS, but forget that the Cubs players melted down in that game, leading to the Marlins' victory. Over the past 90+ years, the baseball has been bad. Only losers would want to go watch a losing team, and support the ownership that milks their money. Most Cubs fans suffer from a severe case of rectal-cranial inversion about their park.
