I don't think it is possible for this man to ask a hard question.
huekucket 10/19/2008
How the hell did he ever get this job? He is not at all spontaneous.
Molfan 04/04/2008
he is okay at interviewing. but get tired of him having the same old topics. he tends to pick a couple news stories and beats it to death. sometimes if someone interesting is on there i may watch.
Tomasm 02/08/2008
One of the most liberal talk show hosts. Adds very little value to a conversation.

Believe he should purchase final arrangement insurance - then use it!

I can smell this guy through the TV. He reeks.
Tesla's Revenge 05/03/2005
An old radio guy who still clings to a TV show. Most everybody knows him now that he's been on TV for so long. Just like his show, all you can say is 'Yep, it's Larry King' and that about it. You hope the guest has something to say since he really won't add much.

Not really bad; not really good. The best thing about his show, I guess, is that he does seem to have on whomever is currently in the news...whether that's a Hollywood starlet, or a self-promoting politician, an author, a comedian, etc. The downside is that you shouldn't expect him to ask any kind of penetrating, provocative questions. Larry's not one for rocking the boat.

Larry King ? Is he still around?
rozandi 10/13/2004
Fortunately for Larry, he became a talk show host before talent was a standard. He seems like a good guy and he does have interesting people on, but he can be so tactless at times.

Although I rarely agree with Mr King on many issues I am obligated to give him a good rating for the following reason. In my opinion, it was Larry King and Rush Limbaugh who saved AM radio and gave it new life. As the popularity of FM grew in the 1970s, FM receivers became less expensive and the sound quality was always superior to AM. Automobiles were being equipped with AM / FM radios in increasing numbers and it was becoming clear that FM would be the venue for broadcast music. By the early 1980s a great number of AM stations had abandoned their musical format. Some AM stations still continued to play music, but with only a few exceptions, they were continuing to lose market share to their FM counterparts. In the mid 1980s attempts were made to upgrade the quality of AM as some stations began broadcasting in AM stereo, however, even with the improvement in sound quality there were relatively few AM stereo receivers and the signal still suffered from the noise and interference problems that has always been its biggest drawback. AM had always been ideal for news and conversation radio and as stations abandoned their musical format they picked up talk shows, usually highlighting the fact that they now carried Larry King. There were other talk show hosts who were syndicated (Bruce Williams for example, who deserves far more credit than he was ever given) but it was Larry King who became AM radio's home run hitter. Talk radio syndications were on the rise and it was Larry King who was in the lead. In 1988 Rush Limbaugh went into syndication, proving that politics did not have to be a local issue and his success opened the door for the many talk radio stations and programs that we enjoy today. Whether you listen to Neal Boortz or Laura Ingraham, Jim Hightower or Al Franken, it was Larry King who, in the beginning of this era, kept AM breathing until the new wave of talk radio came in and gave AM a new lease on life.
