This is one of my all-time favorite shows. Ellen Muth as George the grim reaper is excellent. The concept of Dead Like Me is quirky yet fun and the actors are wonderful in their roles. A direct-to-DVD movie is coming out soon. So, for those who weren't completely satisfied with the show's series finale, buy it! I hear that if DVD sales go well, the show might go back on the air on another network. So fans, gear up and buy the DVD when it comes out.

A 4.5. We got this on showtime when we had it offered for free this summer. Dead Like Me was easily the best show on Showtime. Original show about a girl who is killed by a falling toilet seat in the first episode. Her new job? is to go back to earth and is one of the grim reapers.she has to work in an office as a cover and is assigned to a new person who is about to die.I would reccomend this show if they have showtime. We no longer have it. Well done series. UPDATE We have this channel back, and they are now in their second season. we all like this show.so far it is just as good as last season. UPDATE2 Was disappointed to read they cancelled this show. Hope they can bring it back on another channel like HBO.  I just oredered the series season one from Deep Discount for $13.95 {they have a sale right now}good deal for a great show.

Gee wasn't this concept funny? More British Columbia trash. Thank Odin, Thor,  and all the immortal gods that this tripe is off the air.

I always liked this show. But that guy who mentioned that this show didnt have a laugh track, of course it didnt, that would be ridiculous. Shows that use a laugh track are trying to tell you whats funny, ill decide for myself. The humor in this show is more subtle, so even if there were a live audience, you wouldnt hear them much. Laugh tracks take away from the reality of a show (not that this show was realistic, ha).

Great original show. Thats why SHO dumped it ;) Good news though I read recently they are working on a DVD movie.  If you have some rainy days pick up the DVD set of the two seasons. It is really worth a watch especially if you are tired of the same old stuff on TV.

I really liked this show, I think that it should have had more than two seasons.  It was one of the more original shows.

"Dead Like Me" unfortunately fell into that group of television shows that confront uncomfortable, although realistic, topics.  As was the case with "Arrested Development", a show that was too short-lived due to its head-on take on the modern dysfunctional family, "Dead Like Me" causes the viewer some discomfort at first, knowing that several characters will be killed each episode.  Perhaps this is why the show never developed the following it truly deserved -- try convincing a friend that you want them to watch a show where a grim reaper takes souls from dying bodies, and unless your friend is a science-fiction or horror fan, the friend has probably immediately been turned off.  Explaining the show in this manner is akin to explaining "The Sopranos" as a simply show about mobsters -- while the narrative surrounds this concept, the real substance of the show, and what makes it truly special, is the development of the characters and the life-lessons that are learned.  Just as "The Sopra... hands down, best show on tv (or best show that was formally on tv). love it, love it, love it. hopefully it will be picked up for a third season. i work at blockbuster, and people cannot get enough of this show-and i live in a very conservative mid-western city...that should say something.

Amazing. Absolutely amazing. This is a show with an excellent cast, and great writers. And it's definitely a show everyone can relate to, plus it's comedic moments are hilarious!

This show is absolute genius. Never before saw such a dark comedy that actually pulled off being dark and comedic so well. Not only that, the show really makes you think.

Excellent show. A good change from a lot of the other shows that have appeared on television. Nice to have an original concept instead of the rehasing of the same ideas over and over.

DLM was one of the best shows to find it's way out of North America in a long, long time... Would have to have been one of the smartest written shows of the past decade.

Emmy material, truly original was somthing new and worth while setting aside time to watch! Every cast member no matter how big or small of a part made the show increible to watch! Comedy, drama, touched every emotion in just 40 min. will be missed and is missed by thousands! NO time for showtime!

DLM was one of the very few series in the last few years I found the least bit entertaining. The characters where well developed and the cast was a perfect fit. Once again I cannot fathom why television canceles quality and continues to churn out the useless garbage it does.

A show that will make you laugh, cry and teach you a good deal about life through death. An excellent series gone well before its time. The writing and cast are stellar. The comedy is *dark*, but in the best of ways. Too bad no one released a soundtrack of the music. They would have cleaned up. This show proves the old adage that "only the good die young."

i was hesitant about watching a show with such a title... with the grace of my brothers prodding to watch the very first episode... i was then HOOKED! It has all the things necessary to make a show one that is worth looking forward to. i have been so happy with each and every episode and just finished the final "Haunted" and had to get online to find out when more is to come... When, i ask? Someone out there... some network... simply HAS TO BE intelligent enough to pick up where this one left off.... Please?

Dead Like Me was (and still is) a wonderful, thought-provoking show that was unduly canceled by Showtime. With a beautifully original story line and cast, this show deserves to continue far beyond its short life of two seasons. I hope Showtime feels the pain that we thousands of loyal fans feel from their cancellation.

I became completely hooked after renting the first season at Hollywood Video. Georgia's and Mason's humor are completely opposite, but the show cannot go on with either missing. The office in fact presents the same atmosphere and there is also in fact everyday masons everywhere you go! The show must go on, please don't let the curtain fall!

The most original show ever made. I sort of browsed through it when it was originally aired. Since then Ive watched the re runs and it's simply the coolest show. It is witty, quirky, sarcastic, and also a insight into life dead with a slice of life added. I found out that Showtime cancelled the series. BIG MISTAKE!!! Showtimes SUCKS. I hope somebody revives this show.

I love this show. It's smart and original, sometimes touching, always irreverent. The humor is sly and hip, and the writers use a subtle touch because they assume they're writing for people who don't need to be hit over the head with plot points and character motivations. If you like your humor on the noir side and are not afraid to laugh at death, then you will enjoy this show immensely. We're Six Feet Under and Sopranos fans and we thought the premiere episode of ABC's Desperate Housewives was fabulous, if that gives you an idea of the (very) few one-hour shows we find worth watching. Dead Like Me is aimed at the viewer who understands that much of what we view as important is ultimately made irrelevant by life's greatest irony: the inevitability of death.

This show does have a unique concept, true, but its not a positive or good unique concept. Death as the crux of an entire show? No thanks. I guess I can truly say that this show has no life in it at all! :) Even more, there's no laugh track or live audicence--and there's some extremely harsh language and mean-natured remarks.
